~Aqua's POV~

After I revealed my mermaid secret to Husk, he was just standing there. Frozen right on the spot, not moving an inch. And it looked like he stopped breathing.

"Umm Husk?" I called out to him as I placed my tail back into the water. "Husk?"

I looked at the broken bottle of empty booze and shook my head. "I think you had too much to drink." I swam over to the edge and pulled myself up. "Come, sit." I patted a spot next to me.

"O-Okay." he said as he sat next to me slowly.

"Husk." I took in a deep breath. "This isn't a dream. It's a reality. And sometimes reality throws us off."

Husk nodded, but he didn't say a word.

"I really wanted to tell this to you. But... it was really hard. More harder than you think. It was easier for me to show everyone else this secret. But for you, it was one of my most difficult challenges yet. Showing this to the one I truly care about, and that's you."

Husk looked like he was ready to faint. And that steam was coming out of his ears. I held his paw gently and kept confessing to him.

"We came out on the wrong paw in the beginning. You were grumpy and I was sensitive. It caused us to have problems between us. But during our times of bonding, we were getting along. And I was liking that side. It felt like we were finally getting somewhere. Over the moon and back again."

"W-Why..?" he finally spoke.

"What did you say?" I looked at him.

"Why... Why are you making this so hard?" his ears went down while his paw was over his chest.

"What's wrong? Did I say too much?"

"Dammit... it's so hard..."

"What's so hard Husk? You can tell me. Tell me anything." I said as I held his paw again. "I'm here for you."

"It's... so hard what to say... It's so difficult. It's in my chest, but nothing's coming out of there..."

I was afraid that he was going through another panic attack, so I rubbed his paw. "Take deep breaths for me Husk. Something will come out of there. You'll feel better."

"I... can't! I'm too lost for words." he said.

I gasped softly as I felt his grip on my paw was becoming more firm. I was getting a little scared for him, was he going into shock? I kept rubbing his paw hoping that it'll make him feel better. "Please say something Husk!"

But the next thing I knew, was that he was pulling onto my paw and made me go into his lap. I was surprised as I was on top of him. "H-Husk?"

As I was on his lap, I looked right into his gaze. His lips were moving, but no words came out of there. I felt him snake his arms around my waist just above my tail waistline. The feeling of his paws there was making me blush a blue color on my cheeks. It's a mermaid thing.

I saw his face getting close to mine and then... it happened. Husk was kissing me, on the lips! My ears perked up all the way and they wiggled from side to side. Husk was really kissing me! I didn't know how to react, but his warmth made me melt into it as I kissed him back.

His lips were warm, soft, and inviting too. I got a little closer until our bodies were touching together. He held me more firmly with his paws as I wrapped my arms around his neck. As we were kissing, it felt as if time stopped all around us.

I felt Husk's paw onto my tail which caused me to moan since I was a little sensitive there. Husk pulled back which left us with a trail of lingering saliva connected to our tongues. I panted softly as I saw our saliva trail which caused me to lick it so it disconnected us. As our eyes met, the heat was still resting onto my cheeks. Husk's face was getting close to me again, but he rested his head directly on my chest.

As I felt his fur touching up against my fur, I sighed softly and placed my paws onto the back of his head. I started to gently pet him there as he rested on my chest. This feeling felt nice again, just like back from his panic attack. Except something more special. I felt him getting pretty warm, which caused me to have an idea.

"Hmm..." I hummed.

"Hmm?" he looked up at me.

I smirked and threw myself backwards so we'd both fall into the water.

"Ah!" he splashed in.

I came up first and giggled. After he came up for air, he shook the water out of his head. The fur started fluffing up.

I giggled at him again. "Fluffy kitty. Sorry for doing that, but you felt hot." I said.

He looked at me, but then a smile came upon his face. And then, he started laughing. His laugh was, very inviting and it caused me to laugh too. We both ended up laughing because of the little trick I did.

"Man, that really surprised me." he said as he was starting to swim around the pool.

I swam after him onto my back. "You should've seen your face."

"Man, tonight was really crazy."

"Crazy enough now that I've finally showed you my secret?"

"Well not really. You've been dropping all those hints just for me~"

"Well, you were going to figure me out anyway. Just like you said the other day. And you did."

He chuckled as he swam towards the shallow end. "To be honest, I really thought you were a walking shark. But I didn't expect for you to be a full on mermaid. I thought they were mythical creatures."

I swam up to him and got close to him. "Well, if you were infused with blood and mutagen then it's possible."

"What's mutagen?"

"It's a green radioactive substance that can turn any animal or plant into a mutant. Just like me, I'm part wolf and part mermaid. I don't know how it worked when I was alive back then."

"Mutant or no mutant, it's what made you... well you."

I smiled at him and held his paw. "Yeah. That's just who I am." I said.

And during the whole time in the pool room, Husk and I were talking about usual things and lots of other stuff. And that's how he was able to finally accept my mermaid secret. Not only did it bring us closer, but maybe even something more.
