V

Vivi ran for her life, the creatures trailing close behind her, snaps, snarls and growls galore. Her heart pounded in her chest as she rounded corners and ran past doors, her feet flying down the wooden hallways, the creatures seemed to be getting faster, gaining on her heels quickly. Vivi can't remember the last time she had to run so hard, in school she didn't have to try very hard against the other kids, she was one of few that were very athletic outside of school but even so she exceeded most. She could faintly hear another set of footsteps, different from hers and the ones following her, they were lighter if anything else. Who could those belong to? She had no intentions of finding out but somehow she ended up running towards the footsteps anyway, unconsciously that is.

But as she rounded the corner she skidded to a stop, losing her balance and falling backwards, before her stood a group of human looking creatures but they weren't 'human' at all. Limbs missing, open wounds, skin gangrene and bleeding, and a strong pungent smell coming from them. They didn't notice her yet, her breath hitched as she crawled away from them, keeping her eyes on the figures as they were starting to walk away from her aimlessly (but almost like they were looking for something), moaning lowly to themselves. Just then the creatures from before found her, one skidding into the wall only to have another skidding into it, the others turning the corner normally, she looked behind her in fear, slowly rising to her feet as they watched her movements.

The humanoid creatures perked up at the sound the others caused, slowly turning their bodies and facing her, she cursed under her breath as she stared at them, they cocked their heads to the side seeing her ( as if she wasn't their target). The four legged ones growling even more when they finally saw her, blocking her exit in wide stances, the humanoid ones had no interest in her but they started to growl in her direction anyway. She looked back between them, cursing under her breath, she knew she wasn't getting out of this situation without a fight. She relaxed herself and stood in a defensive stance, the others were just itching to get to her.

One crouched creature then lunged at her, claws outstretched and teeth baring, she moved to the side and punched its side. It slammed into the wall with a pained whimper. One of the two legged ones then ran at her, she turned just in time to roundhouse kick it in the face, its head separating from its body and hitting the wall before falling to the floor. Its knees buckling and the body falling to the floor, blood pooling out of its neck as it laid there lifelessly. A fresh set of growling came from the both groups of monsters, Vivi readied herself for what was to come, nerves of steel setting in her body. Monsters lunged and pounced at her in waves, the number seemed never ending, she punched, kicked, and dodged them in patterns but they didn't seem to notice those patterns. One managed to slice her lower back with their long claws and she retorted with a skull shattering punch, she cursed under her breath as she felt fatigue kicking in, this 'fight' was going on for several minutes but her body made it feel like she was fighting for several hours.

She couldn't fight much longer, she had to escape these demons.

She finally saw an opening amongst the wall of two legged creatures and took it, running at top speed and breaking through the wall of rotting flesh like a freight train. She lost her balance and fell, rolling down the hall with pained grunts until she stopped herself, driving her feet and hands into the floorboards as she skidded backwards to a stop. She whipped her head up, her long hair flying upwards before landing on her back and falling at the sides of her face. The ones she ran into groaned in pain as they writhed on the floor, the others jumping over those ones and running towards her. She took this opportunity to high tail her ass out of there, running down the other end of the hall, this time losing the creatures thankfully.

She slid down the wall painfully, panting hard as sweat dripped down her face, she grunted as she felt her back, crimson blood coating her hand. She cursed under her breath as she took off her shirt and tore it along the seam, tying it around her waist to stop the bleeding. Just when she thought she could finally relax, even if a little bit, she heard a blood curdling scream, and it sounded so familiar.

"Copper?" She mumbled to herself as she stood up, then she heard it again, "Copper?!" She said a little louder.

She limped down the hallway to where she heard the scream, hoping it wasn't what she thought it was. Along the way she heard chomping noises, like those you would hear when someone ate food with their mouth open, rude and unsanitary, she heard the scream again, walking a little faster. She stopped when she reached an open door, the only one in the hall, and looked in, the sight before her made her heart stop. There Copper was, under a man looking monster, eating his way into her gut, blood and chewed meat everywhere, and let's not forget the smell.

"COPPER!!!!" Vivi yelled.

She ran towards them and kicked the man thing off of her, sending him flying into the wall, Copper eventually passed out from the pain, Vivi ran to her and checked her pulse. She was still alive.

"You bitch," the man growled as he stood up, fixing his jaw into place, "don't you know its impolite to interrupt someone's dinner?" He licked his teeth of what was left of her blood and flesh.

Vivi didn't say anything, she looked down at Copper's pale face, she looked like death could take her at any moment. She then slowly stood up, hair falling before her face as her eyes had an unreadable gaze.

"You should be punish for such a heinous crime, maybe you should take her place. You look to have more meat on ya, she was a bit skronny anyway." He laughed.

But his laugh got cut short, Vivi had run towards him and right hooked his face, his jaw knocked clean off his head and landed on the floor somewhere, he looked back to her with anger in his eyes, growling as he ran to attack her. They fought against each other, punches were dodged, kicks were blocked, Copper was bleeding profusely from her wounds, the remains of her clothes drenched in red, Vivi then, after finding an opening, kicked him hard in the stomach, sending him into the glass cabinet. Shards flew everywhere as he fell limply in the cabinet. Vivi huffed as she ran back to the Pinkhead, checking her vital signs once more.

"Copper, Copper don't you dare die on me." Vivi growled as she carefully picked up her limp body bridal style, but not in an angry growl, it was more in a protective growl.

She stood up with Copper in her hands and walked to the door, poking her head outside to see if the coast as clear before heading outside. Mindful to be weary of her surroundings in fear the creatures might reappear, especially since she had another to worry about.

Jack slammed the door behind him, using his weight to keep it shut as thud after thud rained down on the mahogany door, the force of each push stronger than the last, he clicked the lock before the stronger ones came. He moved over to the other wall, sliding down until he sat on the cool floor, panting hard as he held his left arm. Besides the rest of his body, it was bleeding profusely, one of those. . .things' teeth was stuck in it too. With a pained grunt he pulled it out, which, to any person who had common sense, was a bad idea seeing it was bleeding more freely. He cursed under his breath as he tore off his bloodied sleeve and wrapped it around the wound, this was only until he found a way to fix it.

The thuds on the door got heavier and more rapid, Jack didn't want to encounter them again so he got to his feet and ran the way he came, running downstairs and to his right, he ran until he heard only silence. He panted as he slowly walked down the hall, holding his arm in pain and grumbling to himself since he lost his favourite jacket, he noticed two doors that were open, one closer to him on the left and the other farthest down the hall on the right. He went to the one closest to him, seeing it was a bathroom he stepped inside and locked the door behind him. He sighed in relief seeing that no one was inside but him. He rummaged through the cabinet for anything that could help, finding a portable first aid kit inside. He took it out and began to fix him self up, cleaning the wound with surgical alcohol even though it stung like a bitch, and stitching himself up. Yes, he used needle and thread and sewed his wound. Ouch. He then wrapped it in a fresh bandage after putting some medicated cream on it, his wound still hurt like hell but at least he wasn't bleeding that badly anymore.

He looked around the room while he was resting, throwing the dirty sleeve, wipes and tissues in the garbage with a swish. He then heard a soft groaning sound echoing off the pristine walls, he tensed thinking the creatures had found him, but it sounded more like it was inside the bathroom rather than outside. He heard it again, this time to his right as he was sitting on the toilet with the covering flap down, it came from the shower whose curtain was pulled across so he couldn't see inside. He slowly stood up from his seat, his heart beating rapidly again, the groaning came again but it didn't sound like how the others were groaning. It sounded weak, and hurt, more like of a cry for help.

He faced the hanging thin white curtain, smelling a faint metallic smell, he reached out and grabbed it with sweaty palms, he steadied his nerves before quickly pulling it across. The sight before him made him gasp and jump back so fast he lost his balance and fell on his ass. The tub was filled with a red stale liquid, turning green and brown in different areas and leaked over the sides of the tub, creating small pools on the floor. In the tub sat a young man, his age couldn't be determined but he was at least no younger than 20, his head had a large gash on his forehead with lines of dried blood on his face and lead to his neck. The tub of blood reached just below his collar bone and it can be proclaimed that he didn't have on any clothes, the most he could say was that he was shirtless. The groaning came back, it was from him. The figure shifted slightly, fresh but dark blood gurgling from its mouth, its eyes opened slowly, more blood falling from them but they had no eyes, just bloodied holes where eyes should be.

Jack watched with bated breaths as the figure turned his head to him, the eyes wide but looking tired, a hand emerged from below the surface, reaching out to him weakly, asking for help without saying words. Jack took deep breaths as he slowly crawled towards the other, ignoring the smell, the figure's mouth twitched at the corners as if attempting a smile but too weak to actually do it. His mouth started to move but Jack couldn't fully hear what it was so he went a little closer.

"Re. . .tur. . .n. . .the. . .sl. . .ab." He whispered weakly.

Jack looked at him confused, "what are you saying? What slab?"

Another hand then reached above the surface, holding a bloodied rock in it, he used that hand to reach over to him and the other to grab his collar to pull him closer.

"G. . .et. . .s. .l. . .ab. . .to. . .fl. . . .w. .er. . ."

"What? What flower?"

"Please," he started to speak a little clearer, "save. . .them. . ."

His body then fell limp and he stopped breathing, the rock slipping from his hand and falling to the floor, Jack eased out of his grip, closing his eyes that were left open. He picked up the slab and washed it off before putting it in his pocket and standing up, about to head out the door when he saw a flashlight by the doorstop, he picked it up thinking it would be useful in the future but also secretly hoping it was clean. It was in the bathroom after all. He stepped out lightly, listening for the other creatures once more as he headed to the second open door. He looked inside and he froze, his eyes opening wide.

There his teacher and his classmate were, reading something on a piece of paper, surrounded by these black stone half human half animal statues that looked ready to pounce on them.

"Rachel, Ms. V! Behind you!" He yelled.

The creatures then whipped their heads to him, their teeth baring and shining in the light as they growled at him, but instead of going after him like he thought, they made a short and soft gasp and quickly turned white and pressed their hands to their faces before the girls looked up.

"Mr. Merlot!" Ms. Viridian ran to the boy and held his face, concern in her eyes, "what happened to you? Why are you bleeding? Who did this to you?"

"Ms. V we have to get out of this room." He grabbed her hands.

"Why, what's wrong?"

"The statues, they were going to kill you!"

"What?" Rachel then walked towards them, fixing her glasses, "don't tell me the stress is getting to you too."

"What stress? Never mind that we have to go. Now."

"Okay okay, don't rush us. Rushing gets you nowhere." Ms. Viridian said as she walked out.

"Maybe its the house, maybe its the fact we're going to die, whichever works for you I don't care," Rachel says walking out, "we're all going to the asylum by the end of this."

Jack looked back in the room, the statues were all facing him, peeking through their fingers and showing glowing red eyes, one of them moved their hand just enough to show their grinning mouth of sharp teeth while another moved their hands in such a way that it showed both their eyes clearly, and that one winked at him. Jack gave a 'fuck that' face and quickly shut the door, speed walking after the girls without looking back, there's no way he's dealing with that now.

Or ever for that matter.
