And that's how our baby boy made its grand entry into this world.

I jolted up from my sleep with the noise of a small cry. Even though my body was feeling weak I tried to sit up. I was still in the hospital and I tried to find the source of cries I could hear. Hearing those cries my chest heaved with all the disastrous emotions. I found the sound coming from the cradle beside me. When I looked more, that's when I saw a small figure in it crying. My baby was crying and looking at him in discomfort my chest became even heavier. The urge of making him soothe his pain increased in me.

I tried to move out of bed even though there was not much strength left in me. I found an IV attached to my wrist. Still, I tried to move to take my crying baby. I was about to step down from my bed when the room door opened, making me look at it. Jack walked in and looked at me trying to step down from my bed. His expression changed to a horror one. He immediately closed the door and came running towards me.

"Don't get out of bed, lay down. I will take the baby," he said in his rushing voice before I knew he was taking our baby out of the cradle and tried to make him stop crying a little bit. I just kept looking at them. Jack was being so careful and alert as his defensive mood was on. I don't know what he did but now our baby boy stopped crying while Jack flashed me a happy smile. I raised both hands gesturing for him to hand me our baby. He understood it and instantly walked towards me to hand me the baby. He very carefully placed it beside me and I looked at the small us laying beside me.

"Where is Amelia," I asked, missing my girl's cheerful presence.

"She was with me but she fell asleep so mom took her home" he informed me putting my heart in relief. With a relieved face, I looked at the baby and my heart warmed up with all the happy emotions I could surge at that time. Jack came and stood at the foot of the bed to look at our sleeping baby. We both kept looking at him with a small smile tugged on our faces. We didn't know until we kept looking at our sleeping child. We only averted our eyes from him when a nurse walked in. She smiled looking at us. I smile back at her faintly.

"New mom is awake," she said with a smile on her face and walked more towards me. She removed my IV tube as the bottle was empty now.

"Thank you" I thanked her with a faint smile on my face.

"Nurse baby was crying a bit a few seconds ago. Do you think something is hurting him," Jack asked in his concerned voice. She smiled at him after listening to his question.

"I think he must be hungry" she replied while she put the empty bottle of IV in the dustbin.

"So I need to feed him now," I said as soon as I heard her words.

"Yeah I will help you and show you how it's done properly," she said with a smile and moved to take our now awake baby.

When did he wake up?

Jack helped me in setting up and then she placed my baby boy in my arms. Then she unbuttons the top of my gown and showed me how to do it. As soon as he latched on to me he started to drink as if he was so hungry I felt guilty that I couldn't feed him before because I was unconscious. As I kept breastfeeding my baby I felt a calmness inside me. As if everything was perfect at this moment. I looked at Jack who was already looking at us. I smiled at him and he smiled back at me with the same look I was having in my eyes. Seeing our baby made us feel so much in our hearts. At this moment I felt how it feels to be a parent. When I was done feeding the baby nurse showed me how to make him burp. When he burped she took him from me. Now he was sleeping.

"I will go and change him into something warm until then you should go and take a shower," she said white wrapping the baby in cloth to take him out of the room. I nodded at her in understanding as I very badly wanted to take a shower.

"Do you need my help in getting a bath?" she asked me with her raised brows. I do need her help as I still felt very weak. I was about to open my mouth to say yes but Jack beat me.

"You go and change him to something warm? I will help her get clean?" he said with a small thanking smile while dismissing her to continue with her work.

"I will send a new clean gown for her then," She said with a small nod, and then she left the room with our baby. After the door closed I averted my eyes and looked at Jack.

"Let's go to the bathroom and get you clean," he said in his encouraging voice. I nodded and stepped out of the bed to stand with him holding my one hand for support but as soon as my feet touched the floor my legs gave up.

Before I could fall back on the bed Jack supported me by placing his other arm around me while pulling me towards his chest. I don't know why but this made my heart beat fast when I found my face just a few inches away from him. His light brown eyes moved from my face to my lips and made my heart go wilder with just a small moment of his eyes. I saw him gulping down as he saw my eyes moving to his lips. Before we could get lost in the moment he opened his mouth.

"I will carry you to the bathroom," he said, and before I could say or protest he lifted me in his arms while making me wrap my arms around his neck for support. He carried me to the bathroom. Reaching there he made me stand on my feet with his support. I wrapped my hand around his broad shoulder to support my weak legs. He moved his face more near me and helped me unbutton my gown. I felt goosebumps forming on my pale skin as I felt his warm breath on my skin. Sleeping the gown from my shoulder he made it pool it down on my feet. I shivered as his light brown eyes moved all over my naked body. I suddenly felt shy showing him new stretch marks which were visible to his naked eyes. I tried to move my hand to cover it but he stopped it.

"Never do that, your stretch marks make you more beautiful than you are. I am so proud of you that you got them on your beautiful body after carrying our baby boy" he said, making my face flush and chest heavy with happiness. He gave a heart-fluttering smile to me and then he moved his face and kissed my forehead making me feel warm in my heart. After that, he took out his clothes to shower with me. He helped me get rid of all the stickiness and sweat that was on my body. But when his big hands touched my body I couldn't stop myself from shivering at his touch. This effect he has on me.

We took a bath together with him helping me clean, taking his own time. When we were done he first got the dress and then brought the new hospital gown and helped me with it. After that, we went back to find the nurse entering my room with food and some medicines. Jack fed me while asking where we're everyone he told me to send all of them back and they will come to see me soon. He ate with me when I forced him. I just needed to sit down when the nurse bought our baby wearing a cute little sweater. She was about to put him in a cradle but I asked her to put him beside me. When she left, Jack came and laid down beside us. We all three tried to fit on the small bed. We both smiled looking at the sleeping face of the baby with me patting him lightly on his tummy.

I don't know when we both slept looking at his cute sleeping face with a happy smile on our face.
