He indeed stayed true to his words. 

I was sitting in the garden where kids were playing around me. They were running all around with hefty laughter in the air. It somehow made me feel calm. I was now used to their giggling and rumbling around me. I moved my eyes from their running figure and focused on the book which I have been trying to read. A big smile crests on my lips as I remembered my date event. His loving gestures have occupied my mind from the moment I opened my eyes and found a light brown one staring back at me with the same love in them. I could see he is trying to change his behavior for me. He doesn't act like the stubborn brat he used to be. 

I was out of my thoughts when I saw Amelia standing in front of me while looking at me with her big blue dove eyes with both her hands behind her back. There was a big adorable smile on her face which was capable of even making the saddest person on this planet smile. I couldn't even tell you guys how much her adorable smile has lightened my dull life when I was at my saddest point. 

"Come here," I said while keeping my book aside while I was reading or just gazing while thinking about Jack. I opened my arms for her to come in and with little small fast steps, she walked into my arms. 

"Why do you have such an adorable smile," I asked while kissing and then tickling her. She laughed whole-heartedly. Her small giggles somehow always made me feel happy too. 

"I don't know," she said in her baby voice while still giggling as I tickled her. 

"You too have a very adorable smile," she said in her baby voice while looking at me. My heart became happy when she said that. No one had ever said that to me. 

"Really," I asked her teasingly while still tickling her. 

"Yes you look so pretty when you smile," she said while giggling, making me smile at her. 

"You know," she said while looking at me, taking a look at her with raised eyebrows and a faint smile on my face. She was looking at me with a mischievous smile on her face. 

"What," I asked her with the same expression on my face. 

"But I'm not supposed to tell you," she said in her baby voice. Her words made me curious about what could be kept secret from me. 

"But you tell me everything," I said with a small sad frown on my face as her words increased my curiosity. She looked at my sad face contemplating telling me or not her secret. 

"I want to tell you but I have pinky promised," she said with a cute pout on her lips. 

"Whom did you pinky promise," I asked as I wanted to know who that person was. 

"Amelia" I heard a very familiar voice calling her. I lifted my head to look in front of me. Jack was standing not a few steps away from us. I looked at him with a small frown on my face today. He is early from his work. 

"Jack" I heard Amelia calling his name in her excited voice. She ran away from me and went to him. He lifted her in his arms, making her giggle. My frown was soon gone as I saw their smiling faces that made me smile back at him. Those two are getting along very well. I many times saw Jack playing with her and I always thought he would be the same as this with our baby too. I stood up and started walking towards him with my eight-month baby bump. 

"Hope you didn't tell her anything" I heard Jack whispering to her but I heard it as I was nearing them.  

"No I pinky promised," she said in her baby voice with an innocent look on her face. So he is with whom she pinky promised. 

"That's like my good girl," he said in his happy voice and showered her with his kisses. My heart swells with love as I look at their loving interaction. What secrets are both sharing? It made me more curious to know about it. 

"So are you guys done with your secret talks," I asked with the same known smile on my face which made them look at each other and then at me. 

"There is no secret," the both of them said at the same time, making me move my head while smiling. They will tell me when they are ready so I didn't press it. 

"Amelia came to play with us. We are going to play hide-and-seek" a boy two years older than her called her to play. 

"I love to play hide and seek," she said in her excited voice and asked Jack to put her on the ground. With a kiss on her forehead, he put her on her feet to play with the kids and she ran behind the kids happily ever after. I kept looking at her small figure with a delighted look on my face. As I was busy looking at her playing with other kids I felt a jacket being dropped on my shoulders and two possessive hands wrapping below my chest. My straining back soon relaxed on his hard chest. As I was bearing towards giving death my body had started to change drastically and now sometimes my back pain was unbearable. 

"Don't go out with a shawl, it's cold nowadays" he whispered in my ear, making me shiver. 

"Hmm" I hummed as I felt my hormones changing with his touch. We both kept staring there looking at Amelia who was now searching for kids in their hide. After some time we went inside with Amelia as coldness in the air increased more. But as we walked in I was surprised.  Dad was sitting in the hall with aunty Sam and uncle Richard. Miss. Bankers were offering them tea and all of them accepted with a ranking smile on their faces. 

"What a surprise," I said while looking at all of them. 

"Dad when you got discharged. Why didn't you tell me" I asked him with a surprised look on my face? I saw him yesterday and he told me the doctor won't realize him soon but today he was here staring in front of me. 

"If I had told you how I would have got a chance to look at your beautiful surprised face," dad said while standing from his place and walking towards me. I hugged him and he hugged me back. 

"I'm so happy to see you healthy again," I said as I kissed his cheeks. 

"Don't worry I'm not going anywhere anytime soon, not before I see at least five faces of my grandchildren," he said mischievously, making me look at him with a horrified expression on my face. Jack came and stood behind me. 

"We can manage that," Jack said, making me look at him with a pure horrified expression on my face. It caused me to hide my face in his neck as my face was so red. 

"Jack," I said with the same look on my face, making everyone laugh at my reaction. 

"What you want more we can arrange that too," he said mischievously, getting a playful slap from me on his shoulder while hiding my face in his neck as I felt my face burning even at that thought. After that, I hugged my uncle and aunt.

"I want a hug too" Amelia did and ran to hug them as she wanted to. We all had our dinner together with all the children. Now we all were sitting in the garden with ice cream as dad had bought it for everyone. Amelia was sitting in aunty Sam's lap and talking with uncle Richard as she ate her ice cream. I could tell she has already won everyone's heart. I smiled looking at her as I continued eating my ice cream sitting beside my dad. Jack had disappeared somewhere.  

"Amelia over here" I heard Jack calling her and she immediately slipped from aunty Sam's lap and ran towards him. They both exchanged some words and Amelia nodded happily. He handed her a box and they both exchanged some words again making me curious what was happening. Like listening to my inner voice, both of them looked at me getting off guard. With a box in her hand, she ran towards me and handed it to me. I looked at the box and her and then at Jack with a confused look on my face. Jack gestured to me with his eyes to take the box. Now everyone was looking at me. I smiled at her and accepted the box. She smiled excitedly at me. I opened the box and it had paper inside it as soon as I opened the box my eyes welled up in tears and I clasped my mouth. It had adoption papers in them with Amelia's name written on it. I looked at her with glassy eyes. 

"Will you be my mom," she asked in her cute baby voice with an adorable smile on her face. I looked at Jack, his eyes teared up a bit, he smiled loveling at me. I couldn't express the joy I was feeling. I felt so overwhelmed. I looked at the small figure standing in front of me, a happy tear slid from my eyes. So this was their secret. 

"Yes I would love too"
