I want to see how he will deal with it for two weeks. 

I patted Liam's back as he was still sobbing little in his sleep. I don't know what made him cry like this. As I was patting his back with half-open eyes I saw Jack looking at us. The sulking expression on his face was replaced with something else. He was looking at us with this unknown expression in his eyes which made me raise my eyebrows in question. 

He moved his head in denial looking at my question eyes. He lifted the blanket and covered us with that mysterious expression still hovering in his light brown eyes. As he covered us I didn't think much and closed my eyes as tiredness of the whole day took over me while making me drifted Into sleep under the warmth of a blanket. 

The next day I woke up a little early as I had to make Liam ready for his preschool. I took a bath first then I woke him up to a bath. Jack too woke up and looked at me with half-open eyes as I was taking Liam to the bathroom. I bathed him and changed him into his school clothes. He very obediently followed my instruction without making any fuss. 

This kid is very understanding. Ava has raised him like this. He did even cry when Ava was leaving him; he only said mom I love and come soon back. He knows his mom works hard for him as a single parent. I know how it is to be raised by a single parent. When all kids at school have both the parents and they come together with their kids to drop them at school is the feeling I never experienced in my life but from the look on the kid's face, I knew they felt really happy about it. 

My dad always came to drop me at school. It was enough for me but deep down logging to have a mom was something that I was not able to suppress at that age. I tried my best not to let my dad know that I miss her because he was trying his best to give me both parent's love. We both lost our loved ones in our life and I knew he was in pain too. I always went through it with a happy smile on my face because my happy face made dad happy too. 

We kids become mature even before our age as we see our single parents working so hard for us. I feel him because I have been there. He must be logging in for his dad as I logged for my mom. I ruffled his hair and kissed his forehead lovingly. I made him sit on the kitchen high chair and gave him a big glass of milk as his mom instructed me. 

"You have to finish it first," I said with a smile on my face and took out some eggs to make him breakfast. I saw him looking at the glass. He didn't touch it but kept looking at it with his dove eyes with a cute little pout. 

"Liam why are you not drinking it," I asked as I broke some eggs in a pan to scramble. 

"Nina can I not drink this," he asked in his baby voice with puppy eyes. 

"Why baby," I asked as I was scrambling the egg. 

"Because I don't like it," he said in his baby voice while wrinkling his nose in dislike. It made me laugh looking at his cute face. I was about to explain to him the benefit of drinking milk when a voice stopped me. 

"You have to drink milk to grow fast," Jack said as he was coming in our way freshly showered and dressed in his office clothes. He looked so different in his grey suit compared to his black suits which he wears all the time. The small stubble on his face was making him look more different. As his eyes found me gawking at him it made me immediately move my eyes back to the pan. I didn't miss the corner of his lips curling up as he saw me staring at him. 

"But uncle I drink it every day, still I'm not growing fast," he asked in his baby voice which made me look at Jack. I want to see what he answers to his question. 

"You have to continue doing it so one day you grow tall like me," he said while pouring himself a glass full of milk. 

"Really if I keep drinking it I will grow tall as you," he asked with hope in his dove eyes while taking the glass in his hand to drink. 

"Yes," he said with a smirk on his face while looking at me and drinking the milk. His eyes were saying see I made him drink milk with a victory cocky smirk plastered to his face.  

"Then I will drink it without complaint so I can grow up as tall as you one day and marry Nina," he said in his cheerful baby voice which almost made Jack spit out the milk out of his mouth. I laughed out loud listening to his words and after seeing Jacks' reaction. 

"Aww. I will marry you once you grow up," I said coyly and kissed Liam cheek. 

0"Really," he asked with hopeful eyes and blushing cheeks. I nodded at him in yes which made him drink his full glass of milk in one go. As I was looking at him lovingly I was feeling a heated gaze on me. I looked at Jack who was looking at me with annoyed eyes. 

What I mouth but he still didn't say anything and drank the milk in one go as Liam while looking straight at me. I moved my head in amusement and continued making breakfast for us. I served both of them and myself too and sat with them to eat. As I was talking to Liam and eating my scrambled eggs. Jack was still looking at me and Liam with annoyed eyes. I ignored him and continued eating my food. 

"Liam baby, go and bring your school bag. I will put your lunch box in it," I said to Liam after we were done with our breakfast. He jumped from his chair giving a little heart attack but he landed safely and ran to take his back but not before giving me his victory grin because he landed on the floor successfully. 

Boy, they always want to jump from one place to another. Boys in my kickboxing classes we're the same too. I moved my head in amusement and started collecting the plate to wash. As I was about to take Jacks' plate he caught my hand in his and with the other hand pulled my chair towards him making my knees touch his and our face just a few centimeters away from each other. His light brown predatory eyes we're looking straight in my little stunned eyes. 

"Too bad even before he goes to kindergarten I will make sure to get married to you," he said with a cocky smirk on his face. 

God this mad Is he now trying to do competition with Liam. 

Saying that he moved his face to press his lips to mine. "Nina" I heard Liam's voice which made me push Jack away from me when his lips were just a mile centimeter away from touching mine. Liam came running to me with his school bag which made me jump off the chair to take his back from him with a little forced smile while clearing my throat. Jack growled as I didn't let him do what he wanted to from yesterday. I put the lunch box in his school bag after that, we both left for Liam school. 

"Let's walk him to the gates," I said to Jack as we reached his school. Jack nodded in understanding as all parents were dropping their children together. He took him out of the car in his arms and then I took hold of his one hand and Jack his other. 

We both walked him to the school gate where his teacher was waiting for the kids. He was smiling and jumping all-time in our hold. We dropped him at the gate to which he smiled happily and waved his hand happily saying bye. Jack took hold of my waist and I subconsciously rested my back on his hard chest as I waved my hand to say bye to him. Liam's school teacher smiled at us as she saw us waving bye at happy Liam. She was a lady in her early forties. 

"Where is Liam's mom? She always comes to drop him at school," she asked with a smile on her face. 

"She is on a business trip and that's why we came to drop him at school," I said with a smile on my face. 

"And you are his," she asked in question with a polite smile. It's the thing always school teachers ask if they see someone new dropping the kids at the school. 

"We are his uncle and aunty," Jack said before I could reply to her and kissed on my side template while making his hold firm on my waist. His action caught me off guard and the teacher smiled looking at his gesture of love. 

"You guys are such a lovely couple looking at Liam's smiling face I can say you will be great parents," she said with a smile making me blush with a faint smile on her face. 

Why is he giving her the false impression of us being married? 

Before I could clear her misinterpretation Jack opened his mouth.   

"We will try our best. We are trying to make one," Jack said with a determined voice making my face turn deep red as the Liam teacher smiled at us with understanding it made me look at Jack with wide eyes. 

What is he saying?  

"Jack," I said in my annoyed stuned voice. He looked at me with a smudged look on his face. 

"What wrong in admitting we are trying to have kids," he said playfully, acting all innocent. Like he just not said he was trying to have a kid with me to strangers and that too when I was still very much a virgin. 

"You don't have to be embarrassed in front of me. I'm a partner's counselor too and I know newlyweds want to have kids and nothing is wrong in admitting it. You will be a great mother to your children" she said with a smile on her face which made me blush even the deepest shade of red. 

"She will," Jack said in his firm voice, making me look at him with little wide eyes. His words ticked something inside me making me look at him more than needed he was looking at me with that same unknown expression floating in his light brown eyes.  

"Well, best of luck with it. I will now take my leave" Liam teacher said with a smile on her face breaking our gazing tournament before going back inside the gate. I just smiled faintly at her with a red face and Jack nodded at her with a big grin on his face. As soon as she was out of our side I elbowed in Jack's gut to bring him back to his senses. 

"Ouch," he winced dramatically while clenching his stomach even though I didn't elbow him that strongly. 

"Next time you put false things in someone's brain, my fist will land just a little below your guts then you will never be able to have kids in your life," I said in my hard voice which made him look at me. 

"Then won't you be sad for not having kids for a lifetime," he said with a cocky grin on his face. 

This man. 

I just rolled my eyes and went back to the car because it was of no use to warning him what he would do and say what came to his mind. After leaving Liam at his school we went to the office. There was so much work today. My whole day was fully packed with meetings. Jack was busy too with his work so he didn't disturb me. As we are in the form of growing business in different countries, new investors are approaching us with their new proposals to get more benefits. Jack was handling all the meetings and I was handling all the paperwork. 

So this way he was not able to disturb me. Around twelve my driver brought Liam to my office as no one is at home to take care of him. He mostly played with his toys as I kept going through all the papers work to finalize it. Then we both had lunch together where he was telling me what his teacher taught him at school and how his friends told him he was brave because he was staying without his mom. I just listen to all his talking with a smile on my face. Suddenly the things which happen in the morning at Liam school and what his teacher said came into my head. 

Will I be a good mother? I love kids but am I even ready to have them and that too with Jack the big kid himself. Nina, what are you thinking to remember you don't want to marry him. 

My inner voice said which made me clear my throat and look at Liam who was saying something. After my work was done we both went home. I cooked food for us and as usual, Jack came home late from work. We eat food and doze off as soon my back touches the mattress after making Liam sleep. 

All the week went like this with us dropping Liam at his school and we being fully busy with our work. Jack was on edge as he was not getting to cling to me as Liam was with me all the time. My days were going with little ease as I wanted to stay away from Jack to not make him my bad habit and Liam was helping me out without even knowing what kind of big favor he was doing to me. I didn't even let him kiss me and it was making him go mad. It was my side's effort to not let myself get used to him.

I smiled remembering how he tried to kiss me this morning taking advantage of Liam going to bring his school bag from our room but before he could do Liam coming back running because I had kept his bag in leaving the room. As soon as he came I pushed Jack away and it let him fall on the floor with a pissed expression on his face. 

"Uncle Jack, why are you sleeping on the floor," Liam asked in his baby voice, finding him on the floor. 

"Nothing just resting for a bit," he said in his annoyed voice with a tight smile on his face. It made me laugh but he shot me a glare. I controlled my laughter as he glared at me more. 

I was almost done with my plates and was now washing my hands when I felt a presence behind me as I turned to look but his lips and landed on mine, getting me totally off guard. His wet lips moved so skillfully on mine as he pressed me to the kitchen counter. He didn't even give me a single chance to fight him back. 

He kissed me hungrily not even giving me a chance to breathe. Before I know he lifted me and made me sit on the kitchen island still kissing me hard. His hand moved from my waist and moved up and groped my left breast. It made me take a shaky breath and he invades his tongue in my mouth to explore every corner of my mouth. 

He was kissing me hard and groping my breast like punishing me for not letting him near me. With every stroke of his lip, he was making me go insane. My heart was drumming so fast against my ribcage. His beast had taken control of him as he kept pressing small kisses on my face and neck. He moved his other hand to slide the strap of my camisole and then his wet lips moved down letting me take a more shaky deep breath. 

As he continued kissing and nibbling on my pale skin I grabbed his shoulder to stop him and another hand to the edge of the counter to get a grip on me as he pressed his lips just above my breast as he slowly slipped my camisole down. He was now trying to slip the other strap down. It made me open my tightly shut eyes to bring myself to the present moment. I saw Liam climbing down the stairs with his teddy in his hand while rubbing his eyes. 

"Jack, Liam," I said a little breathlessly and in a little panic trying to get him away from me. 

"Don't worry he is already asleep. I made him sleep" he said while almost slipping down my other strap. 

So he made him sleep first and then came down to do things to me. 

"Uncle Jack where is Nina," Liam asked in his sleepy voice even before I could say something to Jack to make him move. He couldn't see me as I was hiding totally behind Jack's big frame. It made him go still on his spot. He turned to look at him still hiding me behind him so he couldn't see me. I tried to move but he didn't let me. 

"She will come to the room in some time you go and sleep," Jack said in his soft voice trying to make him understand and to clear his path. From the side, I saw he nodded his head innocently and was about to go back. I was seeing him escape going away from me and Jack smirked as he saw him going back to his room as his plan of him keeping Liam away from me working so he could have his way with me. 

"Liam I'm here," I said in my eager breathless voice before he could go back to the room. Jack looked at me with angry eyes. I immediately pushed him a little away from me and ran to Liam finding it as my perfect opportunity to run away from him. Jack turned to look at us with an annoyed look in his hooded eyes. 

"Let's go, baby," I said while taking him in my arms. I didn't wait for a second more and took him to the room to make him sleep still with a fast heart beating against my chest. After some time, Jack came to the room with a still annoyed look on his face as he shot me a glare. I immediately closed my eyes while moving Liam more to me. I was making him stay away from me now but what will happen when Liam won't be here. 

What will I do when we will be alone again in this bedroom? 

Thinking about it only gives me goosebumps all over my body. It causes me to shut my eyes tightly. The next day in the office was normal until I got a call from dad. 

"Hello," I said in my nervous voice as I knew why he must have called me first thing after coming back from his business trip. His plane landed here just an hour ago. 

"Kitten how are you," he asked in his firm voice. It was giving me a feeling that aunty had already told him what she saw in Jack's penthouse. 

"I'm fine, how are you and how was your business trip?" I said while biting my lower lip with more nervousness. 

"I'm doing great and regarding my business trip we will talk about it when you come for dinner tonight," he said in his firm voice pushing me to my suspicion that he knows everything. 

"Dinner tonight" I was about to dodge the dinner as I didn't want him to put me in a tight spot. I was not ready for all of his questions. But before I could give him the reason he stopped me. 

"You are coming and it's final and tell Jack too as I heard you guys both stay together so it won't be a problem for you to convey my message," he said in his mocking tone making me chew my inner cheek and close my eyes as it was confirmed now he knows everything. 

"Y---yes," I said in my small voice because dad had left no room for argument. I cut the call with a small bye and started massaging my forehead as the light pain started to spread. I stood up from my place and started roaming in my office thinking about what I should answer his questions. I need a strong coffee very badly. I intercom to my temporary secretary and asked for a strong coffee. 

In a few minutes, she brought it and I thanked her. I started sipping on it and while still spacing around in the office thinking about what will happen and how I should answer his question. I was still submerged in my thoughts when the door of my office was opened. 

"Nina," Liam said in his very cheerful voice while coming towards me behind him was Jack holding his back as he had a small smile on his face. I kept the mug on the desk and lifted him in my arms. Today Jack went to pick him as his school was on his way back to the office. He seemed so happy. 

"How was your day," I asked with a big smile on my face. 

"Nice, see uncle Jack brought me chocolate and he told me if I sleep early and drink my milk every day he will buy me more chocolate," he said with a big grin on his face as Jack came and stood beside me. 

"Jack," I said in my scolding tone. He is bribing him to sleep early and on top of that, he is bribing him with chocolate. He knows Ava doesn't like Liam eating chocolate. I looked at him with a mad look in my eyes to which he pecked my lips to make me shut up. It caused Liam to giggle looking at his uncle's action. He slipped his hand around my waist and pulled us towards him causing Liam to giggle more. I heard the door to our office was opened and before I could turn my head to look. 

"Sorry I was told Nina Rogers was free now," said the familiar voice. It made me look at him. My eyes meant with a very familiar pair of eyes.

"Ryan" a mere whisper left my mouth and I felt Jack's hold becoming stronger on my waist than before which made me look at him subconsciously. 

He was looking at him like he was looking at his biggest enemy in this world.
