Year 1 : Philosopher's Stone - School Days

A/N: Hey guys!! I'm sorry I didn't write for a such a long time. With all the school work, I just couldn't find time to write. Anyway, now the school's over I can come back a lot. ^^

"A seeker? But first years are never put in house teams. You must be the youngest seeker in..."

"A century. McGonagall told me."

Harry found out that Hestia was right again. Instead of giving him detention, McGonagall took him to Wood, who was the captain of the Gryffindor quidditch team.
As they sat down at the Gryffindor table, someone else slid on to the bench beside Harry. It was Hestia.

"I told you not to worry."

She had a faraway look in her eyes.

"You are just like father. He was a talented seeker, too."

She affectionately tousled his hair when Percy Weasley, Gryffindor prefect, came towards her.

"This is Gryffindor's table. Go and sit with your own house."

"I'm talking to my own brother, Weasley. Just mind your own business."

She said this in a cold voice which Harry never heard before. Leaving the Hall in a huff, she went to Professor McGonagall's office.

"Professor McGonagall?"

"Yes Miss Potter, how can I help you?"

Hestia said a bit slowly and haltingly,

"Can you teach me how to become an Animagus?"

McGonagall blinked.

"I... I'm sorry, Miss Potter but that is a magic that is even hard for the N.E.W.T. students."

"Please, Professor. it doesn't matter how long it takes."

"The answer is 'no', Miss Potter."

Her shoulders drooped a bit as she went to her dormitory. She took a book about animagi that she got from the library and continued reading.
After a few pages, she came to a paragraph which said that the Bloody Baron was the first animagus in Britain.
She slapped the book shut and ran out the room.

"Fat Friar! Friar, wait!"

Friar, who had half of his body through a wall, popped out again and turned to her, beaming.

"Ah! Miss Potter, what's the matter?"

"Do you know where the Baron is?"

"The Baron? Well... I saw him at the 3rd floor corridor."

Damn! Hestia muttered. The third floor corridor was out of bounds.
Suddenly, Nearly Headless Nick came floating down.

"I can get him for you if you want."

"Thank you, I would appreciate that."

Nick disappeared, and Friar floated towards the wall again.

"Thank you for the information, Father."

"It has been a long time since people called me that. Would you mind calling me like that from now on? There's a good girl."

Hestia promised that she would, and roamed about, pacing, when Nick returned with the Bloody Baron. Nick disappeared with a nod, and the Baron turned to her.

"You wanted to see me?"

"Yes, Baron. I read in a book that you were one of the first animagus in Britain. I was wondering if you could teach me?"

"Why should I?"

He turned away, and Hestia reached out towards him hurriedly. She unconciously made a grab for his bloody coat when his clothes were felt in her hand. Baron stopped, and looked at her in disbelief.

"You..."

Her eyes became huge as the Baron took hold of her wrist. She was surprised as she looked at him close his eyes and whisper.

"It's been such a long time..."

Baron looked at her and held out his hand.

"I'll teach you, if you allow me to feel the sense of touch... again."

She took his hand and shook it.

"Feel free"

Dropping her hand, Baron turned to leave.

"We'll start tomorrow, after lunch."

Next day afternoon, she followed Baron into an empty classroom, and the lessons began.
For three hours she learned animagi, and later in the evening Draco found her staggering towards the dormitory and quickly steadied her.

"What's the matter? Do you want to go to the hospital wing?"

"No, I'm just tired that's all. Think I'll take a nap. Wake me up when you go for supper, okay?"

He agreed and Hestia immediately went to sleep on a couch in the commonroom.

An hour later, Draco shook her awake and they went to have supper. He apologized for the happening during the flying lesson, and she accepted it, feeling good-natured after the nap.

Two days later, she looked eagerly into the cauldron as soon as she woke up. There was a cauldronful of glittering, golden potion which she poured carefully in two flasks. She packed one of them in her bag, and put the other one in a box designed to store potions in. (Which kind of looks like a vending machine inside.)

After two hours (since she had a free period that morning) she took her bag and quickly walked to the dungeon, where Professor Snape's classroom and office were.
She sat at the very front and listened to the class eagerly. They were supposed to make a simple Soothing Solution and everyone was busy making it. After a while, Snape walked around the classroom, peering into the cauldrons. The potion was supposed to be pale, mint-green but Harry's potion was dark purple.

"Pathetic, Potter. You must learn how to read the instructions before you learn anything else."

Behind Hestia, Parkinson said,

"Professor means you too, 'Potter'"

She giggled madly with her friend but Hestia replied with a cool voice,

"My potion is already finished and I can assure you it's better than yours"

Parkinson opened her mouth to say something rude, but before she could say anything, her dark green potion exploded out of her cauldron. Hestia whipped out her wand and cried,  "Protego!"

A shield charm expanded throughout the classroom, covering everyone but Pansy.

"It seems that you need to read the instructions more carefully, Parkinson"

Hestia smiled and poured her perfect potion into a crystal flask. Looking at her, Harry understood why she went to Slytherin.

When class was over, Hestia waited until every other students went out, then stepped up to Professor Snape.

"What is it, Potter?"

She took out a bottle which contained the golden potion.

"I was wondering if I made it correctly."

Snape was surprised at the fact that she brought him a perfect solution of Felix Felicis. He looked at her with questioning eyes.

"Did you make this all by youself?"

"Yes professor."

Using legilimence on her, he knew that she was telling the truth. He also found out that she really wanted to have extra lessons with him.

"Come to the dungeon after supper. For extra lessons."

Hestia looked up at him with her face shining with joy. With a slight giigle, she threw her arms around him to his astonishment.

[Thank you, for everything]

Then she ran out. It took some time for him to recover from the shock. He didn't know how Hestia found out that he was a parselmouth. But he had to admit that her hug felt good and that it soothed him a bit.

A/N

Sorry about stopping at a weird part but if I kept writing past this point, I would have to write another 500 words and it really tires me...

I made Snape a parselmouth because it will help enormously later (when she is year 6)

I'll try to upload some pictures about Hestia tomorrow, or the day after.
