Chapter 9

Chapter 9

*Isabella Murray*

Saturday came and here I was lying on my bed staring at the ceiling. I was so bored I wanted to smack my head on the wall just so I can do anything else than just lying and breathing. It was already twelve o'clock and Sally went to work so the apartment was all mine I guess. But I still didn't know what to do. Usually, my Saturday morning was going to work then at night doing my homework but not today, because first of all, I don't have a job, and second, I don't go to school anymore. What an interesting life I have.

Suddenly, my phone vibrates by my nightstand. I took the phone and looked at the unfamiliar number. I answered it anyway. At least I had something to do now.

"Hello?"

"Hi, this is Chase from De Grove Company. May I speak to Miss Murray please?" The voice said as I sat up on my bed shocked that Chase actually called. I didn't expect him to actually offer me a job but I was grateful anyway.

"Yeah, this is her." I answered immediately.

"Hey, so great news. I found a job for you." He announced enthusiastically.

"Ahhhhh!" I screamed covering the phone to prevent him from hearing.

"Are you still there?" He asked and I quickly put the phone back to my ear.

"Yeah, yeah. So about this job...."

"Yes, well, my friend needs a tutor and he was asking if you would like to do it?"

"Uh, tutor? How much?" I asked nervously. I never, in my life, have thought of tutoring. Although I have good grades and a high I.Q. I don't really know how to teach other people.

"Yes, my friend is willing to pay fifty dollars an hour. And he said you will be tutoring him for about two hours." He replied.

"Oh my, fifty dollars an hour?" I said my jaw slightly open.

"Yup. So you will be tutoring him every weekday for two hours which will make you earn five hundred dollars in a week." He announced. As soon as his words sink in my head I couldn't help but widen my eyes and let my jaw completely drops to the floor. On my last job in the restaurant, I earn seven dollars an hour and in a whole month I get five hundred. But when I work for Chase's friend, five hundred is only for a week. Wow, his friend must be really rich.

"So, what do you say? Are you still there?" Chase asked snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah, I'll do it." I said enthusiastically.

"Great, I'll text you the address and other information you need to know."

"Thank you so much. I don't know how to repay you."

"I'll think of one." He suggested. "I'm just kidding. Anyway, no problem." He added.

"Thanks bye."

"Bye." He said hanging up the phone.

I sighed happily. I can't believe I just got a job with a very high salary. This is my day. I told myself in disbelief.

Sunday pass quickly without me even realizing it. I told Sally I got a new job and she was very happy for me. Chase texted me the address and all the details on what time I should be there.

Before I know it, it was already Monday and I can't wait for my job later. I practiced everything I had to teach in the library during the day. I figure that since I don't go to school anymore, the least thing I can do is to go to the library and study all the things I will be missing for class.

I looked at my wrist watch and it says 4:30pm I had to go now since Chase told me I would have to tutor his friend at five to seven o'clock.

I called a cab and gave him the address. As soon as we started to get closer, the houses suddenly changed into mansions with large backyard and swimming pools. Wow, Chase's friend must really be rich. The cab pulled into a complete stop in front of the biggest house in the neighborhood.

"Is this is?" I asked him pointing to the mansion-like house.

"Yup, this is the address." He answered politely.

"Thanks." I said handing him the money as I got out of the cab.

"No problem ma'am." He replied waving at me and off he goes.

I pressed the doorbell beside the gigantic silver gate and a buzzer went on.

"Who is it?" Someone asked from the buzzer.

"I'm Bella; I was told I was tutoring someone here." I answered back.

"Oh yes, the tutor, please come in." He commanded. I was waiting for someone to open the gate for me in personal but the small gate started to open by itself so I just went it.

A maidservant greeted me on my way inside as she led me to the door. "Here it is." She said gesturing to the big wooden door with patterns carved out of it. I pressed the doorbell again and this time, a person actually opened the door for me.

"Hello, you must be the tutor. I'm George" A guy with British accent said extending his hand in front of me. He was wearing a black suit, wrinkles free.

"Hi, yeah, I'm Bella." I greeted shaking his hand.

"Well, he's not here yet but I'm pretty sure he's on his way here. I hope you'll be more patient of him and I really do apologize for him being late." He sighed as he led me to a room. The house was huge, it seemed like everything was made out of gold. Everything looked so expensive and fragile that if I touch something, I was afraid that it will break to pieces. So I tried my best to keep my hands to myself.

"It's fine. I mean it's only 6:45." I said looking at my wristwatch. "He told me to come here at five so really, I'm the one who's early."

"Oh, well, this is the study hall." He said opening the door and leading me inside the room. My eyes widened as I saw the room full of books. The walls were all covers with bookshelves. If I was lost, I would've thought it was a library. There were also red sofas in the middle of the room and a couple of tables.

"Please, have a seat and I'm sure he'll be home soon." George said as he left the room and closed the door behind. I sat on the sofa and grabbed some books and started reading.

Right after school, I went to Starbucks to get some coffee then went straight home when I remembered that my tutor was coming today. I totally forgot about her. Good thing George texted me.

As soon as the limo stopped, I ran inside and bumped to George.

"Look at where you are going next time." George commanded as he straightened his suit.

"Sorry George. Where's my tutor?" I asked.

"In the study hall." He answered. I quickly ran to the study hall, this time, being more careful to not bump to anyone. I took a deep breath before I opened the door. I was really late; I hope she doesn't get mad at me.

"I am so sorry I'm late. I totally forgot." I apologized taking some books from the bookshelf not glancing at her once.

"It's fine. I understand." She answered and I could've sworn she sounded so familiar. Due to my insecurity, I looked at her and was shocked when I saw her seating on the sofa reading a book.

"Bella?" I whispered. She looked up at me and as soon as she recognized me, her eyes widened.

"Logan?"
