Chapter 22

*Isabella Murray*

The next morning, I woke up with Logan beside me his arm draped around my shoulder. His head was still resting on the headboard so I was guessing he fell asleep last night while he was watching me sleep.

Me, being terrified was an understatement. I couldn't believe someone might actually want to kill us just because of longing to find Tristan. I find that very unrealistic.

I slowly got up not wanting to wake Logan up. He stirred a little but he didn't wake up. When I looked at my outfit, I wasn't on my same clothes last night. My eyes widened! That only meant one thing; Logan changed me to my pajamas. I scanned my underwear and to my relieve, it hadn't changed yet so Logan mustn't have seen anything below.

Feeling all gross and dirty, I grabbed some clothes from the closet and went to the bathroom. I stripped my clothes and turned on the shower letting it warm up. When I liked the temperature, I climb in and let the water hit my body. I took a ten minute shower then brushed my teeth. I dried myself and put my clothes on.

When I was done, I made my way to the kitchen passing the living room. I saw two police with their notepads asking Fred questions on what happen. When Fred noticed me, he gave me a small smile and turned back to the officers.

I studied the living room and the only thing broken was the windows. There were some holes in the walls as well but there were only a few. Suddenly, the event flashback in my head and I wanted cry.

Thinking I needed some fresh air, I decided to go out and walk for a bit. I knew I should not go out for it might be too dangerous but it was still morning. There were people walking around and cars on the streets. Nothing will happen.

When I was at the park, there were children playing around with their parents and friends. I decided to walk around when suddenly; someone grabbed me by the shoulder. They put a hand covering my mouth and the other across my chest. I struggled under his hold trying to wiggle out of their grasp but they wouldn't budge.

He twirled me around making me face him and I was surprise by his looks. He was only about his mid-twenties and he looked good. Sure, he had many piercings on his face but I gotta say, the bad boy look made him look gorgeous.

He smirked at me and eyed up and down. I felt like a piece of meat ready to be swallowed by him. I gulped audibly and made a run for it but I wasn't fast enough. He grabbed my wrist and tightened his grip on it when I tried to struggle out of his hold. He smiled mischievously and there was evil written in his eyes.

"You're a little feisty, aren't you?" He said dangerously.

"Let me go!" I demanded through gritted teeth.

"Listen, I just want to remind you about... you know. Tell your illiterate friends, who clearly don't know how to read, so stop it right now!"

He brought his lips closer to my ears and whispered, "Stay out of my way... or else..." He warned dangerously taking something out of his pocket, crumpled the paper, and threw it on my face. "Remember," he said walking backwards, away from me. "I'm watching you. All of you!" He said sending shiver on my spine.

When he was out of sight, I took the crumpled paper on the ground and opened it. The image made my heart beat a million times faster and I felt a churn in my stomach. This cannot be good. It couldn't be happening. Anything but them!

When I got to the apartment, Rosalie and Fred were seated on the couch dialling on their phones away while Logan was pacing back and forth in the living room. When they noticed me, Logan rapidly wrapped his arms around me and sighed.

"Do you know how worried we were?" He said pulling away from the hug. "Where have you been?" He asked curiously.

"Relax, I just needed some fresh air so I thought it was a good idea to take a short walk." I explained.

"Short walk? Are you crazy, Bella?! We were almost killed last night and you still went out by yourself without even telling us. What if something happened to you? What if they found you and kidnapped you? What if -"

"Would you stop it with the 'what ifs' already?" I cut him off. "I'm fine, Logan. I'm safe, nothing happened. Yet..." I muttered taking a deep breath.

"What are you talking about?" Fred asked.

"While I was walking to the park, a guy came out of nowhere and warned me again. He told me that we should stop searching for Tristan or else..." I trailed off and their facial expression turned into a worried one.

"Or else what?" Rosalie questioned waiting for more.

"He gave me this." I handed Rosalie the paper and her eyebrows furrowed. Fred looked at it too and he was as confused as Rosalie. Logan snatched the paper from Rosalie's grip and bewilderment washed his face.

"A picture of Chase, Sally and Amber? What does this mean?" He asked scanning the paper one more time.

"Don't you get it? It means that Chase, Sally and Amber are not safe. They know where they are and they're using them against us."

"What? What do you mean?" Rosalie asked shooting me a puzzled look.

"It means that if we don't stop searching for Tristan, they will hurt Chase, Sally or Amber. We can't let that happen. We have to stop our mission." I announced shooting them an apologetic look.

"What? We can't stop now!" Rosalie rose from her seat nearly screaming at me. "We're here already, in England! There's no turning back. I thought you wanted to save your brother?"

"I do, I do want to save him. But if saving him means losing three innocent lives, who doesn't have any idea what is going on, then I rather not. Rosalie, I know you want to find my brother so badly. But losing one life is better than three." There was a pause as Logan rubbed my back soothingly and Fred tried to comfort Rosalie.

"We're not continuing the mission." Logan spoke shooting an apologetic look at Rosalie who was shock by his sudden declaration. "I'm sorry, Rose, but we can't. We have no choice."

A tear slipped out of Rosalie's eyes and she quickly wiped it and ran to her room. A pang of guilt made its way to my chest and I wish I wouldn't have hurt her, but we didn't have a choice. It was either, Tristan or Chase, Sally and Amber. I really didn't know what to do anymore.
