Chapter 12

Chapter 12

I looked up to the dark grey sky as the sun disappeared getting engulf by the clouds. I had a bad feeling about this. I quickly put my hood on and started walking towards the tall, huge gate but before I could press doorbell, the rain poured down. It hadn't been a minute yet but I was already soaking wet. This is not my day.

I pressed the doorbell and George greeted me from the other end. "It's me George, Bella." I informed him. I was waiting for his response but I realized that the gate started to open. I sprinted inside and knocked on the door.

"Hey George." I greeted as soon as the door flung open. George's jaw was open looking at me from head to toe. "Can I come in?" I asked sheepishly.

"Right." He replied opening the door a little wider this time so I can enter. He studied my body again as he shut the door. "Bella, why are you drenching?" He asked me worriedly.

"Uh, it's raining really hard today and I forgot my umbrella." I explained biting my lower lip.

"Hey George, is that Bella alrea-" Logan walked into the room eyeing me suspiciously. "What the hell happened to you?" He asked worriedly with a hint of anger.

"As I said before; big rain, no umbrella." I answered him with a 'duh' tone.

"You're coming with me." He demanded as he took me by the wrist. "And George, can you arrange the study hall for us? Thanks." He said dragging me up the stairs and to his room.

When we entered his room, I gaped at how huge it was. It was probably ten times the size of my bedroom. The ceiling was high with carved patterns on it and the wallpaper was gorgeous. His bed was in the middle of the room and a nightstand beside it. He also had a flat screen T.V. hanging up the wall and a white sofa with a matching mini fridge beside it. What really got my attention though were the ping pong table and the foosball table. But best of all was the basketball ring hanging up on one of the walls. Logan and I just love basketball; it's been our favourite sports since then.

"Bella? Bella?!" Logan shouted catching my attention.

"What? You said something?" I asked snapping out of my thoughts.

"I said follow me." He ordered as he opened a door connected to his room. He turned on the lights as we entered and I was astonished. Inside the room was a walk-in closet full of his designer clothes, shoes, bags, and jewelleries. Wow, this guy was really wealthy now. "Close your mouth, sweetheart. I don't want any fly to enter your mouth." He teased closing my mouth by putting a finger under my chin and lifting it making me close the gap between my upper lip and lower lip.

"Let me just find you some clothes." He said as he goes through the rack of clothes. When he was done, he finally ended up handing me a basketball shorts and a large black shirt with 'B-Ball's my life' printed on it. He never really changed that much.

"Go change. The bathroom's there." He said pointing at the door connecting to his walk-in closet. I nodded and made my way to the bathroom locking the door behind.

I quickly changed and hang my clothes to dry it and wear it again before I leave. It felt weird wearing Logan's clothes but a good kind of weird.

I left the bathroom and went back to his walk-in closet. I caught him checking me out from head to toe. "Wow, my clothes look good on you. You look hot." He smirked looking at my body intensely.

"Eyes up here, my brothaaa." I snapped at him catching his attention as he brought his blue eyes back to my eyes.

"You know this reminds me of the time when we played at my backyard and got really soaked. You borrowed my clothes because you were too lazy to walk a block and change." He said looking at a distance playing the flashback in his head.

He looked back at me but I just frowned and bowed my head. I didn't want to remember anything from the past. In fact, I was trying to escape it and never go back.

Why does he have to remind me of the past every time we talk?

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." He apologized as I whipped my head back up to him.

Did I just say that out loud?

"Yeah you did." He nodded.

Crap I did it again!

"It's fine." He chuckled. Ugh, why do I keep saying things out loud? I looked back to him but he didn't say anything.

"You didn't hear that anymore did you?" I sighed in relieve that I'm not talking out loud again.

"Nope. So.... Why don't we go to the study hall and start studying?" He suggested giving me genuine smile.

"Good idea." I nodded putting my converse on.

"Great, let's go." He beckoned me to follow. We made our way to the study hall and sat on the sofa. So far, no one had said anything yet and I was more than happy that we were not speaking to each other because I don't want him to remind me of yesterday's 'incident.'

"Hey Bella, about yester-" He started but I cut him off.

"It's fine. Let's just forget it ever happen." I quickly said shaking my head a little. He frowned, standing up from his sit and walking to the nearest shelf. 'Way to go Bella! You just hurt his feelings. Why do you have such a big mouth?!' The voice inside my head said. I felt guilt and hatred towards myself for doing that.

I'm such a bad person.

"No you're not." He defended but kept his eyes on a book he randomly picked from the shelf.

"I said that out loud, didn't I?" I asked laughing a little.

"Yup."

"I really need to stop doing that." I said more to myself than to Logan. However, he just chuckled and smiled. The smile that made my heart skips a beat. The smile that I haven't seen in seven years that I miss a lot.

"What?" He asked noticing me staring at him. "Is there something on my face?"

"No, no. I just haven't seen you smile for so long." I admitted. There was a deafening silence between us and if no one talks for the past few minutes, I'm going to explode.

"So, can you help me with my Chemistry today? I need a lot of catching up to do since they already started the semester." He explained breaking the silence. He sat beside me and handed me the book. "It's on this page." He said turning the book to a page.

Logan and I studied for an hour already and neither one of us mentioned anything about yesterday's incident. I was thankful that he didn't mention it again. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

"Come in." Logan commanded as the door slightly opened. The person slipped in and stared at me than necessary. The woman was tall and slim. She had brunette hair like mine and the same blue orbs that Logan has. She smiled at me and walked towards us.

"Bella, I missed you so much." She squealed pulling me into a hug.

"I missed you too Lindsy." I said hugging her tighter. It's true, I missed Lindsy. She had been a wonderful woman and a second mother to me before my parents even died. She supported me and loved me like her own child and I couldn't thank her enough for that.

"Mom, what are you doing here?" Logan asked. "I thought you're still on a business trip with dad."

"Well, the King wanted to talk to us tomorrow so we decided to go home right away to rest. Why didn't you tell me that Bella's here?" She asked shooting Logan a disappointed look. I was kind of confuse she wasn't mad at me by making a big scandal and was printed in the front page of the newspaper. Maybe she didn't notice me.

"Yeah, she's tutoring me since I'm behind in class." He shrugged bluntly.

"You guys go to the same school?!" Lindsy gasped.

"Well, we used to." I answered looking at Logan then Lindsy. She furrowed her eyebrows together, confusion flashed through her face.

"What do you mean used to?" She questioned folding her arms to her chest.

"Uh, the sponsor of my scholarship pulled out and I can't pay for the tuition fee, so I had to stop school." I explained as words started to sink in her head. "But only for the mean time." I quickly added as her reaction turned to a mix one that I can't really comprehend.

"Is that so? Well why didn't you tell me?" She said throwing her hands in the air in frustration. Logan and I looked at each other bewildered of what she was going to do.

"I can sponsor you, honey. I know that you're really intelligent and won't put my money to waste. Why didn't you tell me earlier?" She announced as I gawked at her. I can see Logan from the corner of my eye and I was pretty sure that he had the same expression that I had.

"You mean, Bella gets to get back to school?" Logan asked making sure that she wasn't kidding.

"Of course. I will talk to the board and tell them I will be sponsoring you. Don't worry sweetie, I'll get you back to school. I know how much you love it." She smiled at me making me grinned back at her appreciating what she was doing.

"Thank you so much." I grinned pulling her into a tight hug. I missed her hug so much; it kind of reminded me of my mom's. I miss my mom.

"Any time sweetie." She pulled back looking into my eyes. "I love you, don't ever forget that."

"Thanks Lindsy. I love you too." I said as tears started to well in my eyes.

"Well, I hope you stay for dinner. I'm sure Rick would be thrilled to see you again." She invited me but it sounded more like a command.

"So what do you say?" She asked again.

"Sure, a thank you for willing to be my sponsor." I hesitated then smiled.

"Great. Why don't you guys wrap it up and see you in five, okay?" Logan and I nodded as she showed herself out and shut the door behind.

"I didn't see that coming." Logan chuckled which made my heart beat stop. That laugh was so real I want to hug him or even kiss him in the moment.
