After Dark is an amazing, emotionally driven short story accompanied by a haunting song by Ben Cocks called So Cold [listen to the song while reading that last chapter--I'd never heard of this song until I read this story and it's amazing!]

I don't like unhappy endings, in fact, I almost hate them after I've completed reading them. After Dark was different. There is such betrayal, so much feeling, that I just NEEDED more. The author has told me that there is a longer version in play, but until then, I'm hoping the contest I'm hosting will produce some great inspiration!

She lied.

She lied and he believed her.

-He believed her over his own mate.

The cold metal dug into my wrists, sweat mingling amongst scarlet blood and salty tears.

The screams that left my lips were thick and guttural, something beyond human.

The sounds of a monster.

The sounds of the monster that she portrayed me as.
