Bucky was about to go back into cryofreeze until Shuri was able to find a way to cure him of his brainwashing. You had traveled with Steve to Wakanda to see your boyfriend one last time before he went back under.

"You going to be okay?" You asked softly, standing in front of him. You reached up and cupped his cheek, hand brushing over some of the stubble on his jaw.

He let out a small sigh, glancing off into the distance for a moment. "I hope so. We'll see."

You gave a small nod, your other hand coming up to cup his other cheek. You leaned forward and pressed a kiss to his forehead before moving your arms so you pulled him into a hug. "I'm gonna miss you," you murmured into his hair, trying your best to not cry.

"I'm gonna miss you, too," he agreed, pulling back from the hug after a moment. He reached up and wiped away some of the tears from your eyes, giving you an assuring smile. "But I'm gonna be all better when I wake up, so you have that to look forward to."

"That's true," you agreed, letting out a small chuckle. You fell silent for a moment, knowing it was probably time to get going. "I'll see you later, Buck," you told him after a few minutes.

He gave you a sad smile. "See you later, (Y/N)."
