Chapter 39

"Life isn't easy;

Easy isn't life."

Louis flashed the torch at a bush and signalled everyone to go ahead. It was a dark starless night and new moon day. There was not a single beam of light but the flashlight. Lia tripped over a dried stick and cussed when tasted dirt. She got up and sat Indian style complaining of the lack of visibility. Alrick took out his watch and saw the time 10:00. "We don't have time. Aiz! Do something. "

"Don't worry. We are almost there." Aiz replied and asked Lia if she wanted a piggy back ride. Louis was seeing them from back and when Lia nodded, he crouched quicker than Aiz and she hopped on his back.

"Hey Captain! Wanna meet Peter Pan?" He cheered Lia with a hope to lighten the mood. He used to give Lia piggy back rides when they were small and she haven't had one in a long time. So that ride refreshed the moments of childhood which provided a blanket of warmth to them.

Aiz looked at Louis and growled at him. Mouthing that he was going to pick her up but that just earned him a smirk from Louis. Becks was standing in front, leading the troupe. He was really pissed off by seeing them happy when he was busy worried about things. He turned and rudely yelled," You all wanna come or make me die with you idiots."

"Mind your language Bro. You aren't doing any obligation by coming with us."grinned Alrick. He knows how to keep his ass in control.

Ben was silent after the fight when he complimented everyone as his hero. His silence seemed queer to both Aiz and Mrs. Watson and they decided to ask him the reason. "Are we really going to leave them alone?" He asked to no one in particular but the words pierced through everyone's heart.

Lia suddenly turned pale like she had seen some ghost. She ducked her head in Louis' back and murmured. "Are we going to leave mom and dad alone? What will happen to Crystal and her dream of being a celebrity fashion designer? Mr. And Mrs. West? Are they going to die? They wanted to complete their century before dieing. Is everyone-" and hot tears started rolling down her cheeks.

"And most importantly, Belgium chocolate will vanish!" Aiz chirped in trying to make the situation light in which he was succeeded. His lame joke earned him a punch from Ben and glare from Lia who eventually turned out laughing.

"Come on! We don't have time for all your family and stuff drama. We need to get to the cabin. I don't want to die because of you." Becks said and everyone gave him disgusted look.

They passed the dense part of forest and entered in what seemed like a less dense but more diverse part of the forest. A blue river was flowing swiftly carrying the crystal clear water. It was the source of the waterfall that was near Mickey lab, the name given to the lab by Aiz and Louis.

"Look. The water in the river is looking like liquid coal since no moonlight is here to lit it. It's so beautiful. Isn't it?" Alrick said kneeling at the side of the river.

"We need to walk through it to get to the another side." Ben said and Aiz nodded acknowledging that whatever this little kid had spoken is true. They have to walk through it.

Louis was the first one to get in the river. His lower jeans was soaked in water and something tickled his skin. He pushed the thought aside and started walking. By the time he was in the middle, water had came upto his knee and thanked God that Lia is still at his back or else she might have drowned in this. He was busy in his thoughts when the tickling became too much to handle. He looked down and yelled, "Holy Shit! The current is sharp!"

The river current had increased and became too much fast and sharp. Water was digging his skin but he refused to give up.

Aiz saw Louis struggling and decided to go in the river. He walked to him with ease and asked him to hand over Lia. Louis asked Lia if she was comfortable on Aiz's back. When she nodded, she was passed to Aizan. "Hi!" Aiz said and smiled and Lia blushed while placing her head at his back. Although he was wounded, he was strong and had no difficulty in walking through the currents. Soon, they reached the edge and Lia hopped out of Aiz's grip.

"Are you okay?" They asked in unison. They smiled and nodded. But Lia made Aiz show her that his wound isn't bleeding again.

In the meanwhile, Louis went back and took Ben and Alrick took Mrs. Watson and crossed the river. Becks, who was having the most difficulty, was cussing at the single step he was taking.

"Such a drama queen!" Ben said and rolled his eyes.

"What now?" Lia asked.

"Now? Get ready for the ride." Aiz smirked.

"This is freaking amazing!" Lia yelled at the top of her voice.

She was now on a zip line. Enjoying the view and the soothing effect of the air brushing against his vulnerable skin.

"Stop moving like a child. You're on his lap!" Louis yelled from behind which was barely audible to Lia who was busy enjoying the moment. But Aiz had heard it and as a reply, he shot a smirk at Louis.

When they crossed the river, they reached a cliff but a five minute walk. Lia and Ben were overwhelmed at the scene and were enjoying the view until Aiz showed them a zip line. The zip line was safe and strong and it landed at the tree in the garden of the cabin, so it would save their time and labour. But the problem was, wasn't it dangerous to use a zip line in complete darkness? But they had no other choice. Time was not their friend.

Aiz went to a tree and revealed the zip line. Lia stood there awe struck and so was everyone. There were only six seats, so eventually Lia ended up in Aiz' lap which was highly objected by Louis. She shot him a 'possessive older brother' glare and went with Aiz.

Now, the zip line came to an end at a tree in cabin's garden and everyone hopped out of their seats. Breaths were uneven and feelings were mixed up. No one was able to figure out the response.

Aiz closed his eyes, gripping Lia's waist. "We are here, finally."
