Chapter 30- (Oneiros Path Part 2)

SwapDream (now Oneiro) is on the prowl taking no prisoners

SwapDream Multiverse

Dream had been pondering for a while and decided he was going to go by Oneiro full-time now. If he was travelling to other multiverses he wasn't dealing with the issue of there being two monsters named Dreams every time.

Having to be in the same room as another Dream was hard enough, with their morally rigid ways. It almost made him want to bludgeon every single one he had met. He didn't remember ever being that pathetic before eating the apples. He guess he got lucky in that regard.

Currently he was following his brother's advice and waiting for the Destroyer to bring the Creator. This plan was suggested as the other had overheard his plans to demolish the next positivity guardian he saw. He couldn't help that it was satisfying to dust other Dream types, especially when he was stressed.

The arrival of both Gods did not improve his mood and trying to play nice obviously would fail, so he stayed out the way. it wasn't his fault that Ink had been so trusting when they first met. The chaos he had caused, using the Creator as his own personal puppet had been wonderful~.

He watched in impatience as the two Gods discussed what they could do. Nothing useful was happening, so he decided to interject.

"Look you idiots. Follow the tug of the bond and explore multiverses like that. We can split up to speed it up".

He ignored the way his brother was backing away from him, at his rising anger. It seemed he would have to do everything himself around here. Before he could head off he saw Error glitches start to multiply and the Creator gasped in pain. He had been with them for barely an hour and he was already tired of them.

"The b-bond. It's g-gone!".

Oneiro felt himslef grow cold at that statement. Multiple things could break it but his mind kept flashing to death as the most likely culprit. He had to remind himself that his little raven was a death monster. It would be very hard to take them down. Until he found their dust himself, they were still alive in his mind.

He did feel some slight joy at the possibility of getting a bond to form with his child, but he was more concerned about their health. He could vaguely feel his brother trying to catch his attention but he was done with playing nice. He opened portals beneath the disorientated Gods, kicking them back to their multiverse. All that effort playing nice was wasted.

"I'm going to look, alone. Be good~".

His goody two shoes brother would just get in the way of any necessary actions. As soon as he was out of sight, he took out the item needed for Plan B. He had kept all the feathers from grooming his chick, so he was sure it would help him narrow down their location.

Magic was unique to every monster afterall. Even their variants. He pulsed his magic in his palm, to form a small connection with Karmas feather. It would help make him more sensitive to the location it was attracted to. Like magic attracts itself after all. As soon as he spotted movement he started teleporting in the direction, thrilled when he felt the connection growing.

Karmas Birth Multiverse

He was unsure how long it took to get here but he was vibrating In happiness, at soon being reunited with his baby bird. He had jumped through a few multiverse and had shown his annoyance at not seeing his child. His magic had felt more settled after allowing some destruction out to play, but now he felt he was close.

The magic connection increased when he opened the last portal and he started to look around. He was elated at feeling the death magic in the air but twitched when he saw it was only coming from a Reaper. He was annoyed that he was going to have to think of a new way to find his little bird, when he noticed feelings flowing from the death god.

They were rather potent in their negativity. He was sure he could be a 'helpful' citizen and help his fellow monster. He was a kind soul after all~.

"What's wrong, Mr Death? Why the long face?~".

He made sur e to place his arm around the other and was elated when he felt them lean into him. He knew most of this type were touched starved, mainly due to their magic. He was very happy to take advantage of this fact. As he had gotten closer he saw how unkempt their appearance was. He even spotted dark bags under their eye sockets and their wings were tinged grey, rather than pure black.

"I'll be happy to listen to your worries. I can help in any way you please~".

That seemed to shock the other but he had been subtly slipping his magic into the other, making them much more pliant in his grip. He made sure their suspicion was swept away. No need to end his fun so soon~.

"I-i made a m-mistake. No one understands my perspective. I d-didn't m-mean to"

"Oh I'm sure it wasn't that bad. Let it all out~".

The poor birdy had no idea he was in front of a predator and easily let out the whole story. There were a few points where he felt their emotions surge in confusion, at why they were spilling everything, but he smoothly soothed it over with his magic and gentle touches.

Nothing he heard was new, as most death gods were rather predictable in their woes. That was until they talked about their child. the child they had abandoned, trained but hardly knew themselves. A child others had come to love only for them to suddenly disappear with no trace. He stiffened when he heard about the child's quirks, their age and looks. Could it be?

Looking over the monster in more interest, he supposed the feather could have led him to the parent instead of the child. it seemed his child was further away than he first believed. His hands had started curling into the others cloak and he felt himself grip the monster tighter, as their story continued.

When they talked about the accident they had with their scythe, when with their child, it was the last straw. His control over their emotions broke and he watched blankly as Reaper pushed himself away and looked at him in fear.

"W-what did you do to me? I-i've never told a-anyone that"

Oneiro took a deep breath and showed a wide smile, with too many teeth to be truly friendly. Thankfully his aura made the other calmer, when he advanced towards them.

"It's ok. Let yourself relax. Doesn't this feel good?~".

With huge restraint he drew them closer into a stiff hug. When they finally went limp his joviality left and he made sure to whisper near their skull.

"Did you know I've learnt some tricks as I've jumped between multiverses? It's so exciting seeing how magic can be used~".

His wings flared behind them and wrapped the monster in his clutches, in a final embrace.

"While I rarely share my title, I will happily do it just for you. I'm known as the Destroyer in my multiverse. Let me show you how I can make you disappear~".

Oneiro watched dispassionately at the fire and screams coming from Reapertale. It had been pathetically easy to end that thing that dared to call itself Karams parent. His anger had not left after their death, so he shared his displeasure to their home universe. All these monsters that would have been around his child and no one thought to help? They were all just as guilty in his eyes.

He was wiping the dust that had gotten on his outfit, when a vial of magic and recognisable strings was dropped in his hands. Looking around he spotted an Error walking towards him, with glee coming off them. He was unsure why he had been given such personal items, as it could be considered as a major sign of trust but he was sure he had never met this particular monster before.

" Thanks for killing the scum. It was taking too long to decide how we could do it discreetly, but you solved that nicely "

"Yep! It must have been easy to finish him off though, right? We have been making sure he hasn't had a peaceful time".

His confusion grew as the opposites stood in front of him, thanking him for his actions. What connection could they possibly have to that monster?

"How rude of us not not introduce ourselves! I'm Ink the Creator and my counterpart, Error the Destroyer. We tried to look after Goth but it seems you have taken up the role rather well".

He saw their eyelights drift to the feather, he had carefully made sure was safe during his more violent activities. It was the only thing directly connected to his little raven and he was not letting it be tarnished in any way.

They must have been watching him for longer than he noticed. Perhaps even before the whole conversation with Reaper. He had wondered why this multivere had been so easy to get into. How fascinating~.

" We watched you. We can see you care. How was Goth the last you saw? ".

He was decidedly off balance at how this was going. While he still had an urge to maim anyone who could be competition for Karma's affection, he did not sense any hostility from these two, only hope.

"They go by Karma and they are such a cute little raven~. They don't care at all what I can do and they lay on me at random points. Their chirps are so sweet but if you think you can have them back you have another thing coming"

" Chill, you psychotic chicken. We were just worried. Haven't seen the babybones in months. His new name suits him well".

"I'm glad he met you. I know he was starting to feel stifled here, so I might have encouraged him to explore the Doodle Sphere. I was terrified of what he would do to himself otherwise. I'm glad he ended up somewhere better".

The worry surginging from Ink was impressive and if he wasn't used to such negativity, he was sure that he would have been dragged down with it.

He watched the Creator turn towards Reapertale, only feeling vicious amusement at the scene.

"Never liked the idiot Asgore. Too annoying for my liking. Wish I hadn't made this place. Oh, before I forget take this. It should help with Errors magic as well. We might not have bonds but maybe our residual magic might still be on them. Good luck".

He was amused when Inks emotions switched to devastated, as the other started calling for Dream to come help. There was apparently a 'mysterious' attack on Reapertale, he had no idea who could have done it.

" I was called Geno before, you know. I helped bring Goth into the world but was dragged away. I trusted Reaper to care for our offspring but he failed. I did have fun telling that to Reaper though. Made the isolation we planned continuing even sweeter "

The viciousness of these two monsters made his wings perk up in interest. The destruction and the acting really added to the show. He heard Error open a portal to leave, but not before a piece of paper was dropped in his hands. It seemed they wanted to stay in contact.

He was oddly touched at their faith in him, as it was rare he was ever given trust. He was often treated as if he was just a wild beast, waiting to be put down. Maybe he would keep in touch, having some more like minded individuals in his corner never hurt.
