Chapter 158 - (AntiVoid)

Karma ends up back in the AntiVoid and finds some very interesting things (that he soon claims as his own)

AntiVoid

Error stared down at the sleeping babybones in his arms, carefully pushing their hood back to not disturb them and frowning when he recognised their type. A Goth type was not supposed to exist in a SwapDream multiverse, those types of places usually self-sustaining or ending up broken after the Dream lost their mind.

Last he recalled Reapers didnt exist there, wondering if this was some unusual hybrid or an anomaly. He had been on the fence on taking the Killers' request, in the end having flipped a coin to decide on what to do, having grown so bored over the centuries that he tended to explore any place he could.

He was glad he accepted the deal now, having a nice chunk of gold and some favours from the Nightmare of that place. He had no clue what he was going to use them for yet but he refused to do anything for free, not wanting his reputation to be affected.

He wasnt generous or willing to do any random job and didnt want others to believe he would take any job as long as there was a sob story involved. He planned to destroy a few multiverses after he was done here though, just to make sure no one got the wrong idea of him willing to deal with children. He shivered at the idea of all those gross sticky fingers trying to touch him, or worse, the crying as soon as they saw his face.

There was a reason he avoided them and was already regretting having accepted this request and would have likely rejected it if the kid had been awake at the time. At least like this he had the blanket to prevent direct contact, sighing at the mess he was in.

This felt more like something Ink would do then him, wondering if his IQ had dropped from just being around the art idiot.

...although he was intrigued why the Nightmare wanted the babybones gone, it was rather unusual for this type of solution to be used when there were far simpler options, dusting being one of his favourites by far and it was so much quicker after all.

He held the child with one arm and used the other to scan through the Code of the place he just came from to look for answers, snickering when he realised that the Dream was slowly losing their mind and about to snap, tempted to watch the aftermath when he had some free time he ignored the traces of a Deities touch, as it was always best to not get involved with them.

"..Nightmare?..where is everyone? Who are you?"

His pixels increased when something poked his face, looking down in shock at the suddenly awake child who was looking at him in pure confusion. He frowned, thinking he would have more time to decide what to do with them but of course his luck failed him.

He ignored the question entirely, using the blanket to cover the Goth more to prevent them from touching him again, when he suddenly realised he was in the AntiVoid with a child.

He was impressed they weren't dead yet, even though a part of him was deeply annoyed by that fact, as that still left him to figure out what to do next. The 'deal' had been rather vague but he had technically completed it to the letter. Killer only asked to 'take a chosen monster away from that multiverse' but no specifics on what happened to them after were mentioned in the deal.

He slowly put them down when they began wriggling, watching in amusement as they battled their way out of the blanket and took pity and used a string of his magic to pull it off them. He snorted when he realised they were holding a massive cat plushy in their arms, the kid much smaller then he first thought.

He crouched down to examine them, humming in interest at their blazing red eyelight and odd coloured wings. Such an unusual combination for a Goth type, curious at how old they were and how they ended up in the wrong multiverse.

He was tempted to have a quick peek of their Code, just to see where they were truly from but reluctantly decided against it, knowing it was a bad idea. He might be practically immortal but that didnt mean he took unneeded risks and this was a massive one.

Death magic was no joke and while this might be a child, he couldnt say the same for the supposed parents. Reapers could be rather rabid, not to mention Genos with their insane amount of DETERMINATION something told him felt he would be in for much worse if he truly harmed them, fully trusting his instincts to keep him safe.

"I wonder where your parents are? They must be worried sick.."

He mumbled casually, using a thread to tilt the babybones skull up so he could look over them easier, intrigued by the odd feel of their magic which was poking his own with innocent curiosity. He snorted when they hissed when he touched their plushy, poking their chest in admonishment and smiling when they tried to bite him in response.

What a feral little one, far much more intriguing than the usual amoebas he had to deal with.

"I'm sure you will be fine, Goth. You look to be a hardy one"

He felt he had already wasted too much time on this little project and although he didnt have anything planned, he still wanted to be entertained. While learning more about the kid might be fun he didn't want to deal with any tears or other annoying consequences powerful children tended to attract..

Kids were just mini adults really, just a bit more emotionally really. He counted Ink in the same category and they were the biggest pain to deal with but were also perfectly fine on their own. With his conscious soothed he stood up and stretched out his arms before silently teleporting away, convinced the kid would figure out what to do from here.

"...is my name 'Goth'? Why didnt anyone tell me?"

The newly named 'Goth' asked himself, looking around the pure white in confusion and wondering where the new monster went. He didn't think he would see this place so soon, squeezing his plushy close for comfort when he realised there was no one else nearby.

His wings drooped in disappointment, something inside him saying he wouldn't be seeing Dream or Nightmare anytime soon, chirping sadly at the thought of no more hugs.

It was too soon, they weren't ready yet and there was still so much to pass.

After a few minutes he took to gather himself he decided to focus on his new discovery, sitting on the ground while he leaned on the kitty. He titled his head in consideration, feeling 'Goth' sort of suited him, feeling a twinge in his SOUL at the name even if it wasnt quite right still. It was kind of annoying not remembering everything, still confused why everyone he met thought he was oblivious to it.

Of course he knew something was wrong with him, doubting it was normal to look at his wings and feel longing or how he had vague familiarity with odd names and places he had felt oddly connected to Dream, feeling so very safe with them.

He sighed before standing up, knowing just sitting there wasnt going to do anything. He hoped to meet the white kitty again but the longer he stood in this place, the more he felt it wouldnt be as easy as he thought it was endless and it might take centuries to meet another living being if he was lucky.

At least he wasnt totally alone, holding his cat plushy close before walking in a random direction. There was no point in just sitting here and he wanted to see something a bit more exciting then just white..although a part of him was curious what would happen if he tried to use his magic again...

The dark drew him in and wouldnt let go and it was so easy to let it, feeling like nothing was keeping him in the world anymore

..or maybe not. That pure black place had made him rather sleepy and that wasnt very conducive to what he wanted to do.

-

Goth he wasnt sure if he liked the name anymore felt like he had walked for miles but he did encounter a few odd things. There were lots of floating hearts he passed, the pretty colours a nice distraction from the unending white. He liked the red ones the best though, something absolutely fascinating about the rich colour. He had been tempted a few times to take a bite from them but something in his mind told him it wouldn't be the best idea.

He didnt leave them behind though, as something even stranger happened. His magic reacted whenever he grew near one, gathering at his hands and making the heart just disappear when he touched it. It was quite weird all though he felt strangely satisfied when it happened, noticing he ended up bumping into many more hearts as time went on.

"There are so many hearts..but they are also very high up. I wonder how i could reach them..?"

He said thoughtfully, the blue strings hanging from the ceiling reminding him of the odd monster who left him here. He kind of wanted to touch the many threads, idly touching his scarf and surprised when he saw similar blue threads stitched into it.

What a weird coincidence!

He giggled when he suddenly remembered he had wings, flexing them and trying to see if he was capable of flying. Dream had promised to teach him how to fly but never got around to it and even Nightmare made funny faces when he brought it up they wanted to keep him grounded so he didnt make more of a mess of things.

There were many failed attempts and a few 'emergency landings' into the ground relieved the white place was oddly soft but he finally succeeded, managing to grab one red heart that was wrapped tightly in glowing blue string.

He tugged in curiosity, wings puffing up in shock when it pulsed back in answer. He sat on the ground and deeply examined his new find, only looking away when he felt his magic stir. He quite liked the fun ability he had to sense people, mainly using it when he played hide and seek but it turned out to be useful for lots of things.

"Who are you?! What are you doing to my precious SOUL collection?!...did you pull one down?!"

Like right now he could tell that this was a monster he had never met before, even if they looked practically identical to the monster who he assumed brought him here. He titled his head in confusion when they pointed to the red heart in his wand, wodnierg if they meant this.

"Whats a SOUL?"

"Are you kidding me?! Why do I always end up with the stupid ones-DO NOT KEEP POKING IT! Has no one ever taught you not to touch other peoples things?!"

"Nope! Why would they ever do that?"

He giggled amused at the monsters silly expression. Dream always said if he wanted something he could have it and should grab whatever he could find and make it his. He added his new SOUL to the pile of items he had been acquiring, liking the funny little dolls he found with the hanging SOULS. He was surprised the SOUL hadnt vanished yet though, his magic somehow neutralised by the blue string but he wasnt disappointed as it meant he could examine the SOUL for so much longer!

"Are those my puppets?! Did you grab ALL of them! How long have you been here?! DONT JUST LAY IN MY BEANBAG AND GO TO SLEEP!"

"Your voice is funny. Your dolls are almost as nice as my plushy. Im Goth! Whats your name?"

"Almost as nice?! What kind of compliment is that you little thief?! You are rather rude for a...did you just fall asleep?!"

The babybones had indeed passed out on the large beanbag, surrounded by their ill gotten goods and not a single care in the world. The Destroyer watched on in sheer disbelief, silently cursing and trying to sort the mess the babybones had made of his collection.

He would deal with them when they were awake, feeling it was like dealing with Ink when they overdosed on paint. He prayed that someone came to collect the wayward brat, nearly screaming when he realised over half of his SOULS were gone, wondering what Deity he had crossed to earn this karma.
