Chapter 12- (Second Multiverse)

Karmas thoughts spiral and Error has 'feelings'

—-

Karma was feeling great!....he was very suspicious of this fact. His magic felt full and Ink would offer magic regularly. He had even observed Dream flaring his aura around him when in the same room. It could be because he was being watched so often and did not know many places in this multiverse. He had been hiding more when at home and 'might' have gone hungry a time or two, but his privacy was more important!

Meeting Paperjam was fine and even the others' magic was calm. It was an odd blend of both parents but he loved it. They looked unsure how to react to him but hearing how he had another brother as well was insane. Ink magic was weird here but he was curious if any other surprises would pop up.

Going to Goths or staying at home was fine but the new visitor was not. They looked like Blue and he felt his energy drain just looking at the excited monster.

"HELLO. I AM THE MAGNIFICENT BLUE. PLEASED TO MEET YOU".

They tried to step closer but he made sure to step back. Why was this monster here? He thought he was being kept separated for others protection. He had only met powerful monsters so far, so why the change? Was this a test of his restraint? He thought he had been good and hated these tests they kept throwing at him.

"Hello Blue. You don't have to get closer. I'll be good".

He was proud of keeping the nervousness out of his voice but Dreams look meant he failed emotionally. Even Reaper and Geno looked confused. At least Ink was here as support.

Reaper was confused, which wasn't a new state with Karma. Why was the other so wary of Blue? Dream had thought it would be good to expand the monsters Karma met and Blue was a very social monster. He observed how the babybones hands were in front but apart, as if showing something.

"Karma. Can you touch mortals?".

Everyone zeroed in on him but he didn't move his gaze away from the babybones. He had noticed they rarely initiated touch but assumed that was a comfort issue. This could be a more serious issue than he thought. His wings arched when he noticed the fuzzy eyelights of Karma.

"Of course I can. I'm good. I can stay away. Please".

Karma was getting confused where he was. Who asked him the question? Was it Boss? Or mother? Maybe Mary? Where was he?.....who was he? What was his name again?

He had been talking to Blue...right? Was this the library? His hands were tingling but he had no idea why.

....I'm so tired.....

-

Error was not the friendliest monster and he had no plans to change it. Having to deal with the annoying Creator would have turned anyone insane, so he felt he was doing well for himself. He was 'born' the same time Ink was so he felt he had seen everything the multiverse liked to throw at him.

Having mini abominations with Ink was horrifying. That it happened twice was even worse. He might have been too hasty in trying to erase the first one but having anything to do with the squid disgusted him. Life went on and he ignored his 'children' and focused on destroying.

The truce was an odd thing to occur. Mainly as Nightmare had suggested it and somehow convinced his fanatic of a brother and the Creator to agree. It was nice having more alone time but with that gave rise to much more thinking. He opened windows to his abominations location and watched them struggle to work with his inherited magic. The weeks passed by and he tried to reach out. He wasn't surprised when he was rejected, but the squeeze of his SOUL was odd.

Meetings occurred to help familiarise other AU's to each other and have a support network. He resented having to attend but he had to play 'nice' for the weaker monsters' security. It was the usual boring meeting when he felt someone enter his multiverse. Ink may be the Creator but he was the Destroyer. He was meant for more than destroying AU"s but also threats to his multiverse. He had prepared to crush the others SOUL but his magic had other ideas. Instead the outsider was lowered to the ground slowly.

The little monster looked around and he compared their looks to Reapers brat. Even the wings looked similar. Something felt off about the other if it made his magic act weird.

"Do you want help being released from Ink?"

"NO. He is mine now, no take backs".

He wasn't surprised by Inks' childish antics but that sounded more serious than usual. Even the eye symbios were falling to a red target shape when looking at Reaper's outstretched hands. He did feel amusement at the look of the anomaly when looking at Reaper. The other always complained about his job and it was getting tedious to listen to it.

"Hey. I'm Reaper and it seems like you are far from home. We have a Goth here, unless you go by a different name?"

"Call me Karma. It fits in with my 'parents' i suppose".

This anomaly might be more interesting than he first thought. That was an odd choice for a name though. He could see Reaper at one end of the spectrum but Geno was a glitch who wouldn't die. Nothing outstanding in his eyes.

"Who are your parents, little one? Aren't they Reaper and Geno?"

He was glad Dream was being useful for once. When he wasn't spouting words about redemption or positivity, he was much easier to stand.

"They are Ink and Error of course. Unless yours are not the Creator and Destroyer?"

He stopped himself from Crashing at the mention of having another baby abomination. He had to remind himself that this wasn't their multiverse. The glitching was getting more numerous and he was glad he had opted to keep away from everyone else on the ceiling.

"Do you want to stay with us? My magic still seems to be compatible with yours"

"No thanks. I don't like you at all and seeing Geno again is creepy. I much prefer Ink and Dream"

He felt a laugh struggling to escape but he held it in. Everyone's face was priceless at the rejection but he couldn't help but add something. No one paid attention when he lowered himself and walked closer to the group.

" You know Ink will most likely forget you exist right? I can can barely stand the other abominations that are from my magic either "

He would not sugar coat anything and saw no point in lying. He ignored the look of disbelief from those around him. He focused on the anomalies' eyelights and saw no fear for his presence or his words.

"That would be perfect! If it's too much trouble I can just leave. An abandoned AU must be available for me to stay in".

He kept quiet as the others objected to this frankly stupid suggestion. The other was tiny and looked like a feather would knock them over. The squid looked resolute and solved the issue with no talking needed. Feeling the meeting was done he teleported to the Antivoid and enjoyed the solitude.

Opening a window he watched the new anomaly talk to Dream and Ink. It was of course only out of boredom and nothing else.

"No thanks. I don't need to eat food".

Was that due to Errors inherited magic? His body never felt real hunger but he got energy in other ways. It didn't seem likely though as he knew his mini abominations required food still.

"How about magic directly?".

The artist did have some smarts hidden under his exuberance. He was confused when the other agreed and even seemed pleased by this arrangement. What weird multiverse did the other come from? This looked like Karma trusted the other. Even Palette was wary of receiving anything from the dizzy artist.

He closed the window and decided to knit and enjoy the peace. The new anomaly would distract Ink from 'bonding' with him for a few weeks at least. Sadly his curiosity didn't abate, so he kept opening a window on Karma's location.

He scoffed when he saw where they were. A picnic was a horrible decision. The obliviousness of some monsters was insane. Watching Karma stare at the food in suspicion, with no one noticing, was painful to watch.

"So Karma, what do you do in your day back home?"

This was going to be dull. Babybones did not lead the most exciting lives. He should probably close the window tod-.

"I help Reaper in his job but my main role is the Balancer of SOULS".

How odd. He wasn't sure they even had the role here. Even Goth had nothing official yet and was just starting to follow Reaper around.

"That's...impressive but i meant what you do day to day"

"That is my daily routine. Everyone else is too busy so I make sure not to get in their way".

....That didn't sound right. He might not be around babybones if he could help it but he was sure their days were usually more 'fun' than that.

"How old are you, Karma?"

"I'm 510 years old"

Now there was clearly something wrong with the tiny abomination. Even if Gods don't age like the majority of monsters, Karma should not be that size. Was he a glitch? Error's SOUL wasn't whole so it could possibly affect offspring in other multiverses.

"B-but you're tiny! E-even your m-magic is telling me you are y-young"

"Yeah, Geno left when I was young and Reaper never wanted a kid. Not enough magic when I was younger means I'm most likely stuck at this age. It's great"

"Karma...."

At least that mystery was solved. His meagre respect for Geno vanished at the others' actions. He might not be better but he knew the other wanted his brat. Why did his counterpart choose the little abomination though? Even the other Creators reason was a mystery.

The pitying look given was useless and angered him. It solved nothing and just seemed to confuse Karma more. He ignored that he was getting somewhat attached and continued knitting,

Seeing Paperjam donate magic made him feel odd. He had been avoiding everyone as he didn't want to be dragged into this mess. He was surprised at seeing no resentment on the tiny abomination, at his lack of presence. He had given up even trying to talk to his mini abominations, no matter what others insisted. He saw the spite and stubbornness in their eyes. They got that from him after all.

The weeks passed by and nothing new occured. Paperjam came and went but hardly stayed long. They kept taking the fluffy abomination to Reapers but nowhere else. He was sure Karma was bored, just as he was from watching this.

Seeing Blue was new and he was unsure why they were there.

"HELLO. I AM THE MAGNIFICENT BLUE. PLEASED TO MEET YOU".

He was a loud abomination but could be tolerable to be around. The image of them together reminded him of a dog trying to be friendly to a cat, but something was off. This didn't look like fluffy's usual distaste of people. He could see fear and betrayal in their eyelight, but at who exactly?

"Hello Blue. You don't have to get closer. I'll be good"

"Karma. Can you touch mortals?".

Error was hating this. Why did things get so complicated? He had a sinking feeling about this. What were the others even doing? Shouldn't they know this by now?

"Of course I can. I'm good. I can stay away. Please".

There was something dark that was gathering around fluffys hands. It looked like Reaper's magic and judging by the others expressions it could be. He knew Goth had never inherited that power and wondered what exactly happened to make this one different.

"I'm so tired"

He flinched at the words. That tone with the way the other wasn't moving, was too familiar. All those days alone in the Antivoid. Talking to no one and wondering what the point of going on was. His fingers were digging into his palm but his eyelights stayed on Karma. He wanted to reach out but it was too late for that. He had nothing to help and was useless.

The squid grabbing Karma was a shock. He expected anyone else to step in. The way Ink soothed the other looked practised. Karmas sobs made his SOUL clench at this whole experience. He had no idea why Karma affected him like this but he knew he was attached whether he liked it or not.

~~~~~
Blue: HELLO! I WOULD LIKE TO BE FRIENDS
Karma: its a trick!
