OO1. ( &&. all about layouts , ft . how to make your own )

▬▬ ▬ ㅤ𝒉𝒊 ! in this tutorial , i will be explaining what a layout is , as well as some 𝒕𝒊𝒑𝒔 & tricks on making your own 𝒂𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒄 layout . this chapter 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔𝒏'𝒕 contain any actual , usable layouts .

𝒊. what is a layout ?  ━━ if you've ever wondered what a layout is & why you can sometimes find a " layout credit to xyz " in books , i'll be explaining that . a layout is the way in which parts of something are laid out , or arranged . for a wattpad book , that's either the aesthetic graphic elements that separate different aspects of the book , or the lack of them . it specifically refers to the order in which they are arranged and organized , in order to give your book a prettier and more eye - catching look . 

𝒊𝒊. why should i make my layout aesthetic ?  ━━ a more aesthetic layout often helps draw readers to you , as your book looks neater & organized , which is therefore more appealing to the eye . furthermore , the inclusion of aesthetic graphics that are part of a layout , can help add a visual element to your book , which definitely enhances it ! 

𝒊𝒊𝒊. how can i make a basic chapter page look more aesthetic ?  ━━ by chapter page , i mean a random chapter in your book / fanfic . this isn't the intro , or page with a cast or any other graphics , just a chapter filled with your wonderful writing .

 for starters , i definitely recommend using italic , bold , & underlined text to add a better visual look . i also like using cute fonts from fontchanger.net ! for example , when making a random book chapter aesthetic , in something that contains nothing but text , here's one way to make it start nicely ( im using lyrics as an example ) : 

" 𝔐Y MIND TURNS your life into folklore ." ( ─ gold rush , taylor swift ) .. continue with the rest of the paragraph / chapter , etc .

the m being in a fancy font , as well as the all caps , in my opinion really helps emphasize the start of a new chapter while still looking aesthetic & neat . but i know that a lot of people just like to keep their chapter layouts clean without fonts , which still looks cute !

𝒊𝒗. what are some of the elements in an aesthetic layout ? ━━ a pretty layout consists of a lot of things , depending on what type of book it is . but for a standard layout , i like using the following things . i'll also mention the dimensions ( in pixels !! ) , & you can ask if you want a detailed tutorial on how to make any of them . 

O1. a divider : a divider is the thin bar that separates different parts of your story . 

it looks like that , but through the page . my favorite dimensions for one are either 900 𝑥 20 , or 1800 𝑥 40 ! 

O2. cute pngs : a png is a type of graphic that has a transparent background behind it , and tends to be a singular element . here is an example of one : 

it doesn't have any particular dimensions , but i like to center my pngs on a 900 𝑥 150 graphic without a background .

03. moodboards : a moodboard is a graphic that has multiple square pictures that have a cohesive theme to them . i like to filter mine , but unfiltered ones look really nice too . i prefer 3 𝑥 3 grid ones , but 5 𝑥 1 or 3 𝑥 1 also look cute in my opinion . here's an example of one .

my favorite dimensions for these are 900 𝑥 900 , with each square being 30 𝑥 30 . 

04. gifs : i think most of us know what a gif is , & i don't really know how to explain it ? the moving picture things that loop . i love using these as a visual element because they're so eye catching ! manip gifs , filtered gifs , sign - off gifs , etc . they all look really cute as a way to tie together your layout . also wattpad's not letting me upload a tiny version of an example gif rn , but i'll have my normal one at the bottom . my dimensions for these tend to vary , but they tend to be in the range of 700 𝑥 200 ish .

05. overall : overall , you can use these elements together in different orders and create your own layout ! try sticking with what each element tends to be used for ( ie , dividers to divide sections ) or just play around with it . i bet it'll look lovely < 3
