Soon
Aurelia made sure she had everything. They would be leaving soon and there was no return after that.
Another knock sounded at her door as she put a final book in her bag. Why was she so popular all of a sudden?
"Come in!" The blonde exclaimed, hair falling in her face as she leaned over to force some more of her stuff into her bag.
"Leaving already?" A sweet, feminine voice asked.
Aurelia looked up to see a familiar girl. Serenity's braided brown hair swished as she strolled over. The princess gave Aurelia a soft, twinkling sapphire eyed smile. Aurelia smiled back.
"Well, of course! Lucas and I have places to be, kingdoms to aid. You know, usual stuff." Aurelia shrugged.
"Are you sure you can't stay longer? It looks like Eve's taken real liking to Lucas." Serenity wondered.
Aurelia let out a hollow laugh. "I'm sure she has. I think Luke took quite a liking to her as well."
"Oh?" Serenity raised an eyebrow. "I've never seen Lucas interested in anyone. That's a refreshing change."
Aurelia shrugged. "Some of us just struggle finding the right person I guess."
Serenity eyed her with a curious look, her left eye brow still raised. She crossed her arms.
"I'm guessing you're one of those people?"
Aurelia smiled. "I've liked people! Okay... I liked a guy once. I mean... I was just a little girl but I met this boy... And he rather was sweet. He gave me a book." She laughed.
Serenity rolled her eyes. "That's what it takes with you?"
"Well... Yeah," Aurelia shrugged again. "I was young. We used to hang out around his mom's shop. He was a sweet kid, but I don't know what happened to him."
"Do you still like him?" Serenity wondered, cocking her head.
Aurelia shook her head no. "Of course not. That was like ten years ago."
"Well it's strange to see Lucas take an interest in a girl, but it's about time." Serenity smirked. Her smile slowly faded as she remembered why she had come. "Do you really have to leave so soon?"
Aurelia gave a sad smile. "I'd love to stay and spend more time with you, Nyel, and Eve, but Lucas and I have places to be."
Serenity sighed. "I know. I will see you again though... Right?"
Aurelia nodded. "I hope so."
This didn't seem to comfort Serenity who bit her lip with worry. She straightened up and plastered a plastic smile on her face.
"Well, you must. That's an order, Miss Aurelia." Serenity joked.
"Alright, Ren." Aurelia rolled her eyes.
"Ren?" Serenity wondered.
"It's a nickname. You don't like it, do you?" Aurelia frowned.
Serenity quickly shook her head. "No, no I like it!" She tried to regain her composure. "Well anyway... Nyel asked to speak with me privately in the gardens, but after that I'll see you off properly."
"Alright, your highness. You shall see me in a little bit." Aurelia replied, a hint of teasing in her voice.
Well it looked like she was all packed. It looked like she would soon be leaving Midas goodbye. And saying goodbye to Midas meant saying goodbye to Serenity, Nyel, and Eve.
