I look at Fraisers little cabin as we pull up the curvy drive way, I open the door as he kills the engine and start walking to the door.

"Someone is eager," Fraiser chuckles.

He takes his key and unlocks the door.

Just as I expected, the inside looks straight out of a magazine, gray wood floors, with a couch a couple shades darker and two accent chairs on each side. The kitchen had a hunters green theme going. A table for four people.

I take my shoes off and hop on the couch, oh yes it's as comfy as it looks.

Fraiser shakes his head, "no we have no time-" he points to the door to his left beside the fireplace. "-shower now," I groan as I stand and stomp to the door. I open it and enter the small guest bathroom, it continues the country theme but holds much elegance to it. I get a towel and start the shower.

I exit the bathroom with a towel wrapped around me. My eyes widen at the little set up Fraiser had going, he ushers me into the chair and starts to brush and blow dry my hair, he curls it and puts it in an elegant bun, then does my make up.

"Tada!" He then hands me a bag after checking his work. I take the bag and walk to the bathroom.

I put the dress on and gasp.

Blue at the top and fades into white.

"Its gorgoues!" I say as I walk out.

Fraiser smiles, "I know I've been up for at least 48 hours making it, thank the moon goddess for energy drinks."

I do a spin and giggle. "What about the mask." I ask as I stop to face him he hands me a dark dark blue glittery mask. I put it on and look at him

"How do I look?" I ask him, Fraiser burst into a big smile.

"Like a queen." I roll my eyes at his choice of words.

He looks at his watch and does a small scream, "We need to go now! Already thirty minutes late!," Frasier grabs my arm and again with the dragging. I huff as I try to keep up, thankfully I'm in flats.

We arrive thirty minutes later to the castle, I hear the music before I even step out of the car.

Fraiser puts his mask on and rushes me up the stairs. Right before we get to the doors he looks at me and makes a couple adjustments before deeming me perfection. His words not mine.

He then slips through the door while sending me a wink. I breath in deeply and then let it out. I open the doors and just like before everyone stops and stares at me. I quickly walk down the stairs and into the crowd.

"Where is Navi," I turn to my right at Bains voice.

"She couldn't make it, had to finish prom stuff." I hear Fraiser reply, a disappointed oh falls from his mouth.

I look for them and suddenly spot them, Bain's back is to me. Daniel and Fraiser spot me though.

I hear Daniel whisper something to Bain who then turns towards me, with out my contacts to block the bond I feel the pull. Bain starts to walk to me and I walk to him slowly. Bain stops infront of me, yet something, call it courage, pushed me not to stop and I leaned up on my toes and let my lips met his.

Sparks burst through my body and a soft moan escapes my lips. He pulls me closer and I almost take my mask off.

Almost.

I break the kiss and we start to sway to the music playing, I feel people trying to secretly watch us. Bains lips are on my forehead and my eyes are closed, enjoying the moment. My heart feels like it could beat through my chest and I feel like I can breath.

Suddenly he steps away, taking my hand in his and leading me away. We leave the ballroom into a hall and he leads me quickly to what appears to be a guest room. He shuts the door behind him and slams me against the wall causing me to moan. His lips met mine, in an aggressive, needy way.

He needed this, I needed this.

Sparks fly all around my body, as his hands explore. A darkness inside me, I didnt know I had vanishes and I feel light as a feather. Everything feels right. Everything wrong is fixed with this kiss.

I rush my hands up into his hair tugging slightly making him growl.

He then quickly steps away putting distance between us. Both of us breathing heavily.

His eyes catch my blue ones. My mask covers my face and I see his hands twitch wanting to take it off.

"What is your name." He ask quietly.

I shake my head keeping eye contact with him. "I can't tell you that." I whisper. A growl erupts from his chest as he stalks to me.

"Why? Are you in danger? Has someone threatened you? I can protect you, you know that." Bain begs me, his hands on my arms, I look down taking a deep breath in.

"All I can do is tell you why Bain, and it's not because I'm in trouble." Well besides the fact there is man that knows I'm your mate and wants me for himself.

Bain swallows harshly as he looks at me waiting. A moment passes and I see his eyes water. "You don't want me." He whispers brokenly, his hands drop.

I shake my head "No you deserve more than me. You wouldn't want me." I take a step back and see him tense.

"That's not for you to decide, I want you so bad. I want to yank that mask from your face and kiss you, really kiss you, I want to hold you against my chest and slow dance with you for eternity."

My eyes water at his words as I raise my voice pointing to myself "You don't even know me!"

" Yet you know me, because that's fair." He quickly spits back just as fierce. Emotions swirl in his eyes, anger, confusion and betrayal.

"Bain I'm sorry." Is all I know to say. "But no one cared until I put on a mask,"

Bain shrugs his shoulders as I see his face starts to redden as he tries not to cry. "So is that it. You'll just run from me forever?"

I don't say anything as I look into his eyes. I didn't know, I was just winging it.

"Fine." His voice cracks "Since you are so scared of rejection or you just simply don't want me I'll call the search for you off."

My eyes widen at his words "That's it?" I couldn't believe the alpha king was giving up so easy. It's unheard of.

He nods his head running a hand down his face . " I'm not like other alphas, I won't force my mate to be with me."

"I'll find someone who wants me." He rolls his shoulders a new found determination in his eyes.

He gives me one last look before turning. "You may leave." I don't move for a moment. But finally I go to the door I stop and look at Bain, I put my hand on his arm as I look into his eyes.

"Im doing what's best for you and the kingdom. Bain, I would ruin you." Bain doesn't say anything as he seems to ponder my words and I walk out. The door shuts softly behind me. My head snaps to the side and I see Daniel as he grabs my arm and leads me away quickly. We go a couple hallways down into another room.

I take my mask off and Daniel starts to spray me with a small bottle. I scrunch my eyebrows as I look at him. "What is that."

" It washes the mask scent off so people can smell your scent. He then hands me my contact holder and I put on the brown contacts.

"Are you taking me home now."

Daniel laughs at my question." Of course not. I still ship you and Bain. He might have given up but I haven't." I roll my eyes.

"Change dresses, there is one in the bathroom, it comes with gloves it is made to where it blocks the mate bond." I look at him confused." You'll see why" I roll my eyes and walk to the bathroom and change dresses.

I walk out and Daniel takes my hair out of the bun so it flows down my back.

"You know this is a bit showy." I say to Daniel but he just winks at me.

He takes my hand and we walk out of the room and walk back to the ballroom. Hush whispers surround us as the band starts to softly play another song.

"Navi! You made it!" Frazier says very loudly as he embraces me as he looks at my attire "You look lovely."

I smile at Frazier "Thank you." I look at Daniel who is looking away, looking in the direction I see two double doors. They suddenly open and out walks Bain. His face has no emotion in it as he walks to us.

"Daniel, I let her go." Bain whispers to Daniel. Daniel nods his head.

"Hey bud, you will find someone." Daniel then looks in my direction. "Look who made it."

I want to throw a glare at Daniel, it's obvious he wants us together.

Bain smiles at me. "I'm glad you could make it Navi." I return the smile.

"Why don't you two dance, I'll get you a drink." Daniel offers to Bain. Bain doesn't waste a second as he grabs my covered hand and walks me to the ball room floor. We start to dance and I notice Bain's eyes roaming my body.

"I'm sorry about your mate." I whisper, making his eyes lock with mine.

He shrugs his shoulders "I had been preparing for her to reject me. If she is happy with out me then I can be happy with out her."

"Well maybe she isn't, maybe she just felt like she doesn't deserve you . Or deserve to be queen." Bain study's me for a moment he then twirls me and brings me back close.

"I don't know her reason, I'm just ready to get over it. My kingdom needs a queen." Bain and I continue to dance and talk.

"Do you have someone in mind?" I ask him looking into his eyes hoping he would say no.

"Yes." He states looking into my eyes not once breaking eye contact.

"Oh." Is all I can manage. I wonder who it could be. I turn my head looking at all the girls staring at us dancing. Some in envy, some in wonder.

"You have a lot of eyes on you Navi, I think some of these men would like to dance with you." Bain states as he looks around the room.

"And you have a lot of girls looking at you." I state back with a smirk, looking around before locking eyes with his again.

"Would you like to stop and dance with someone else." Bain ask me as he study's my reaction.

Looking around and spotting the lustful stares I look back at Bain. "I honestly would rather dance with you." I whisper.

Bain smiles "Good, I don't think I'll let you dance with any of these fools." I giggle at his words and a peaceful silence surrounds us.

I look back at Bain. "You deserve all the happiness Bain." I whisper to him.

Which is why I ran. I add to myself.

"We both do." Bain twirls me and then brings me back to him.

Everything feels right in his arms and I so desperately want to tell him.

But I can't be that selfish. He deserves someone who can control their powers.

I look into Bains eyes, Bain starts to lean his head down to me.

I suck a breath in. I swallow quickly.
"Bain."

He freezes for a moment. "I-I can't. You deserve more than me. Someone that isn't a glitch." My heart clenches as the words struggle from my mouth.

Bain doesn't say anything. He twirls me once.

"Prom." I look at Bain confused as the word leaves his mouth.

"Promise me you will save me a dance."

One last night. Then I could slowly fade away from his life. Watch from a far as he marries and lives happily ever after.

"I will save every dance with you Bain." A smile lights up his face. Though my heart hurts and my stomach turns at the lie.
