2. Drafts

Author's P.O.V :-

Taehyung silently eyes his assistant as he moves frantically but timidly around the projector and the screen to make sure everything is ready. The spacious and well organised office slowly gets darker as the lights dim while Taehyung props his feet up in anticipation of what's to come. The set up was taking a while and that annoyed Taehyung.

He hated people moving at a glacial pace and wasting time after all. If it needs to be done, do it quickly and do it.

He gives off a slightly nervous sigh, ready to judge. He's been waiting for this eagerly, the final advertisement drafts that they had shot with Micha at the start of the week that is.

He had anticipated the finishing of this project specifically. He wanted to see what was so special about her work, especially after she shot the commercial with the wrong person. She was clearly very focused and hard working but did her work display that strength? Was it worth the orders he had taken from a complete stranger? Was it worth putting a show in front of his employees?

The first clip to be played was the one that she had shot with the actual models booked for this advertisement, hence building up the suspense towards what he actually wanted to see. The video wasn't anything different, in context to the two models. They were obviously still new and someone with great observation, like Taehyung could easily point out things he didn't like about their body language or expressions. That was not Micha's fault though. He had seen the whole filming process with them through the CCTV. She had given the models exact directions, what more could she have done within the time crunch?

So he paid more attention to the camera work and the editing that was done. It didn't take him long to acknowledge why his father's company had chosen her over the hundreds of cinematographers available with way more experience and time in this industry. She brought something fresh, something new to the table. The advertisement seemed engaging, something that will catch the eye of a passer-by with its colour palette and presentation.

As that video came to an end, the epiphany of how much more excited he had gotten after the review dawned on him as he sat in his chair, awestruck. Completely submerged in his thoughts, a particular memory flashes through his mind. He is reminded of that look Micha had when she was reviewing the footage she had captured of him on the day of the shoot. She looked mesmerized at their work, which in turn made her look so ethereal to Taehyung-

"Sir?", the voice of Taehyung's assistant finally cuts through Taehyung out of his thoughts.

"Yes- what!"

"Would you like me to start the next draft-" he asks, scared if he is going to get a scolding.

Taehyung nods in approval and folds his arms up as the video starts to play. There he was, looking perfect as ever. The camera smoothly glided, showing him off without leaving the main goal of this project out, that is maintaining focus on their product as well. It was soothing to the eyes with its aesthetic visuals and its upbeat but not distracting music. If you would ask Taehyung's assistant, he too would probably agree that Taehyung looked so good on camera, he would buy the product instantly. Just because Taehyung was advertising it.

Well, success!

But wait, what did Taehyung himself think? Well, he just stared at the screen blankly for the first few seconds. For the first time in a while, he was speechless because of how well they had worked together. The sync they had found that day was not a ruse, it was real, what are the odds? It wasn't just in his mind.

This second draft was what Taehyung needed to confirm the fact that they did indeed receive their money's worth. It surprised him to a point as well, about how good this woman was at her work. A professional who knows how to command the room, how she wants everything set up and all that at her age without some major company backing her up. You have got to give her kudos for everything she has built in such a short span of time.

"Sir, the CEO has called for you.", his assistant's voice, once again pierces through his thoughts.

Darn it, his assistant and the world is not going to let him float through his thoughts today, are they?

Once again he nods, and pushes his chair back, putting his feet back on the ground to stand up. He sighs, wondering what his father needs to discuss or tell him.

~*~

Opening the door, he silently walks into his father's office to face his father's back. His father too, like him, had been reviewing the drafts with the screen on the wall behind his desk.

"You called for me?" Taehyung finally voices out.

His father was watching the particular draft with Taehyung in it as well, so he pauses the video and turns around to face him. Taehyung casually walks over to a couch that was placed in his father's office and takes a comfortable seat. He folds his legs, rests his hand on the arm rest and looks at his father.

"I didn't know you were modelling in one of these."

"It wasn't planned."

His father raises an eyebrow in question for a further explanation. It wasn't like he disapproved of it. He was quite pleased with it to be honest, I mean how could he not? The draft with his son was the definition of perfect. If this did not sell the product, he didn't know what would.

"The models were late and absent when the new cinematographer arrived so there was some misunderstanding which led to her thinking that I was the model. I didn't say anything because I suppose I wanted to present her with a challenge. Why- do you not like that draft?"

"Oh, no no. I quite like the one with yours- better than the one with the models in it actually. I just would have liked to know beforehand that's all."

"Well, we didn't really have much time to talk, so...."

"Yeah, well, just wanted to let you know that both the marketing team and I were thinking of using the draft with you, if that was okay with you."

"Yes, that's fine with me."

"Okay then, great."

With that, Taehyung takes his leave. His father had always been very business oriented, a little bad at balancing his home life and professional life but ever since Taehyung moved out and took his position as a director after working as an employee at the company for sometime, all they spoke about was work, that too not too often. Not that Taehyung minded, he was quite accustomed to it by now actually.

Which worked in his favor sometimes because his father didn't need to know that he was already thinking of reaching out to Micha personally and getting to know her better.

"Mr. Yoo, the cinematographer- I think the name was Lee Micha?" he asks to confirm.

"Yes sir, Ms. Lee Micha." he answers as they enter the elevator.

"Is she married or seeing someone?" he asks, casually.

Mr. Yoo immediately took his Ipad out and started researching and within a minute or so, he had the answer to Taehyung's question.

"She is not married and she is in no relationships that are known of yet, sir."

"Okay, send me her contact details and some details on her by tonight."
