Curiosity kills the Cat

"Curiosity in children is but an appetite for knowledge."

Hours had passed and it was around the time the Molina sisters would be getting home, when Chris didn't have dance practice. Both girls were still arguing about Chris giving up her spot for Julie and none were getting anywhere near an agreement. What helped make them stop arguing was what they saw when entering the garage.

"What are you doing in my room?" Chris yelled as she walked up the ladder. The three ghost turned seeing the angry girl heading their way.

"We were looking for the kitchen?" Luke stated, only for it to come out as a question rather than an actual statement.

Chris looked at the boy angrily, "This...This can't happen, it's creepy." She then turned towards Reggie who was originally making snow angels on her bed. "Get off my bed, please." Not wanting to be yelled at more, Reggie quickly obliged and got off.

"Hey, Re." Luke raised his hand, "Please stop calling me that." Chris asked as she turned towards the hot topic wannabe. "Fine, anyway, what's in the box?"

"That's off-limits." She quickly said, making Luke laugh. "Oh, ok. Girl stuff."

Reggie not understanding turned towards Chris. "Oh, like butterflies and glitter?" Alex just looked at his friends not believing how stupid they can be. "Oh, come on. I'm sorry about them."

Quickly smiling at Alex for at least somewhat respecting her privacy, only to turn back towards the other two. "It's none of your business." Julie quickly added into her sisters statement. "And yes, there might be some glitter." Reggie smiled being right on something, while Julie received a glare from her older sister for saying that.

Meanwhile, Alex attempted to grab the same picture frame he was originally trying to grab awhile ago, and was happy when he could finally pick it up. "Hey! I actually picked something up." Only to lose grip and drop it, thankfully he was near her beanbag, allowing the picture frame not to break. "I dropped it." He said sadly.

Chris just sighed as she walked down from her loft towards the boy. "It that your mom?" Luke asked as him and Reggie appeared next to Alex, looking towards the picture. "Yes, and it's my favorite picture of us. You break it, I'll break you." She said grabbing it away from the boys view and setting it aside in another spot.

"Ok, well, sorry because we're kind of unbreakable at this point." Alex pointed at the three of them. "You do remember unlike my sister I can actually touch you, right?"

"Uhh, I remember now." The three guys quickly took a step back away from the girl, while Julie rolled her eyes at her sister. "I don't get it. You guys can mess up her bed, pick up your instruments, but you can't pick up other stuff?" She questioned.

"I know, right? It's hard, but for some reason, our instruments, easy." Luke said remembering what happened today.

"Yeah, like super easy. Oh, and check out what I learned today." Reggie said happily wanting to show Julie their little trick, only for it too backfire when his guitar appeared unexpectedly making the boy fall backwards onto the couch. "Yeah, that looked super easy." Chris stated rolling her eyes at his weak attempt of flirting.

While Reggie still groaned, Luke turned back to the girls. "It's like I always thought, our instruments are attached to our souls."

"Ok that may be true, but I have to say I wish that I could do something like that, don't you agree Julies?" Receiving a nod from her sister. " My life would be so much easier if my guitar could appear in my hands." Just like Reggie, her/Luke's guitar appeared, surprising everyone, as she fell backwards because of the new weight. "What the... how?"

Chris just looked at the guitar and then the boys, not fully registering what might have just happened, and before she could say anything a knock resonated through the room. "Hey" Ray Molina entered the room, only to see one daughter on the ground looking terrified at her guitar while the other was just staring at her sister shocked.

"Everything ok here?"

Both girls quickly turned to their father, as Chris quickly got off the ground and held the guitar by the neck, briefly getting a good look of the boys. Reggie looked startled, but was calm once he realized who it was, while Luke held Alex's hand close to this chest. When she saw that Chris couldn't help but feel a pain in her chest as she just stared at them. Seeing the girl stare, Luke looked down and saw what he was doing and quickly let go of his ex's hand, while letting out a nervous laugh.

"Yeah." Julie answered seeing as her sister wasn't really paying attention to her father at the moment. "Were fine."

"Ok, I just thought I heard you guys talking to someone else."

"Nope, just us two and my laptop... that I just closed." Chris couldn't help but cringe at her obvious lie, as her father just stared at her.

"Ok, if you guys need anything..." Before making a move to leave he looked at his daughters questioning if they want him to close the door. "Yeah, thanks dad." Both girls said at the same time as their father just smiled and did what they asked him to do.

"Your dad seems like the kind of guy who likes to barbecue." Reggie said happily, making Chris groan and Julie smile at his adorableness. "I bet he has a great ribs recipe."

Chris rolled her eyes, "I don't know, but if you guys wanna talk to me or Julie, we have to do it here not anywhere near or in the house. He's already worried about the both of us as it is."

Alex just looked between the duo pairs, "So are we not going to question what just happened?" Getting no answer, and only stares he just let out a sigh. "I'm going to take that as a no."

Luke snapped his fingers and pointed at Alex, something he use to do when he was agreeing with what he was suggesting, before turning back to the girls. "He seems chill, you guys should just tell him about us."

Chris let out a sarcastic laugh before looking back at the the boy. "Your kidding, right?" The smile he had on his face quickly vanished when he saw how serious the situation was for the girls. "This past year, everyone's been watching over Ris and me, being super nice, as if they're waiting for one of us to snap." Julie stated, looking towards the boy band. Chris just looked down as past feelings started to work it's way through her head again, something Luke noticed, but didn't bring up about.

"If either one of us tells are dad that we met a ghost band, I'll be back to talking to Dr. Turner three days a week and Chris might end up going back to..."

"What Julie is trying to say is that none of us can tell are dad, got it?" Chris stated interrupting Julie before she could continue. "Good, end of discussion." She responded when she received nods from the three of them.

Luke clicked his tongue, reminding himself to ask Chris what she cut Julie off on, "You probably shouldn't tell him." As he disappeared once again to only reappear in front of Chris's box.

"Chris?"

"Oh my god!" She shouted staring at the boy, before making her way back up the ladder once again. "I told you to leave that alone!"

"I know, you just shouldn't have said nothing 'cause now I can't stop thinking about it, so...." Luke stared at Chris before pointing at the box, "What's in the box, Re?"

Letting out a sigh, giving up on trying to keep an ounce of privacy from these boneheads, she finally told him. "It's just my dream box, ok?" Luke turned away from the box as he got down from the little stool he was standing on, heading towards the girl as she looked away. "Whenever I get a thought, I write it down and get it out of my mind, it was something I did with my mom and Jules all the time."

Lukes eyes almost seemed to brighten when hearing that. "Like lyrics?"

"They would be if I still wrote music like I used to with our mom. Now it's just full of stuff that doesn't make me sad or things that I just need to remember."

The room was dead silent as three boys where feeling bad for Chris and Julie was just enjoying the moment as he sister started talking about her feelings, even if they brought tears to her eyes. Alex got off of the beanbag he'd been siting on and went towards the middle of the room, that way her and Luke could see him.

"But, I mean, you do play, so does Julie. We heard you this morning." He said pointing at the two girls. "In here?" Julie asked slightly angered with what he just admitted to doing this morning. Reggie hit Alex on the shoulder for telling them that as the two people on the loft leaned over the railing. "So you were there too?"

"Uh...I don't..."

"Uh...He was, like..."

That was all Alex and Reggie could say while Luke just stood there, as the sisters looked at the three of them.

 "We were..."

"Somewhere."

Rolling his eyes, Luke jumped onto Chris' bed and laid down, making the girl turn around and stare at him, as he gave off an innocent little smile placing his head on his hand. "So, where is your kitchen, by the way?

Stopping down so that there were face to face Chris replied. "Ok, we need to set some boundaries." Lukes smile grew as he stared at the girl, something that the other three noticed as they watched the two interact. "For starters, stay out of my room!" Chris pointed down the ladder."

Luke didn't hesitate to getting off the bed as he made his way down the ladder. "Mm-hmm. Crystal clear. Let's go." Reggie said seeing as the girl needed a moment to herself. "We're leaving." Alex said as he followed behind Luke. "Yes, ma'am! We are out of here." Reggie quickly grabbed his bass as the three of them walked through the garage door, to chill outside since they got kicked out of the garage.

Both girls let out a breath, Julie plopped down onto the couch as Chris walked back down and headed towards the area she put the picture frame of her mom and her. Yet, a second later stuck half of his body back into the room. "Hey! Um, sorry, I didn't mean to bother you. Did you get back into your music program?" He asked, watching as Julie glared at there sister while she just continued to stare at the photo.

"Yes. Yes, I did just not under the best circumstances, you can ask Chris about that." Julie stated, making the ghost boy look at his ex-friend, who just looked at her sisters comment. "I did what I thought was right Julie, ok? You got back into the music program and both dad and Carlos get their sister/daughter back, win win situation."

"It's not a win win situation if you're not in the program anymore Chris! Both Flynn and I just can't understand why you would do something like that, you're in just as much need of being your old self!" Julie retorted, both not caring that Alex was in their witnessing the sisters fight.

"Maybe, I don't deserve to be the old girl I use to be." Chris whispered, though both parties could clearly hear her. "What are you talking about Chris?" Julie asked, walking towards her older sister, Alex finally reentered the room fully not knowing how the situation might turn out.

"The old me was what screwed us over into losing our mother for both you and Carlos, a sister for Tia, and a wife for Dad! It was because of me that she's gone! So, maybe that's why I don't deserve to be in that program anymore." Chris finished before walking out of the garage, not caring if the two guys were eavesdropping or that Julie had tears in her eyes and was trying to be comforted by Alex.

She didn't think twice on what she was about to do either, allowing herself to slam the truck door and do a burnout in the street as she pulled out of the driveway.

All Chris knew was the one line that kept repeating in her head.

It's my fault that we lost her.

So, I finally get internet back and then this happened. This took a very different turn than I had planned and I don't know if I like it or hate it, but I can promise that the rest of this episode will be finished and the usual chapter update will still happen tonight.
