Chapter 18
"I didn't mean to transport us this far away!"
I looked at the guards firing at us. This wasn't supposed to happen. We were supposed to be in the woods and just managed to be a hundred yards short.
She tripped on the ground and I could see the weakness from years in the prison.
"Run damn it! I'm not going to carry your ass!"
And run we did.

(A few hours ago)
We nearly had everything planned.
So far I had learned so much about this place that I hadn't bothered to think about.
The prison cells were connected underground to the main Castles. Yes there was more than one. For some reason and I had never seen the booger one apparently. But we were going at the other end. Through the main gate that led out of the cells.
The witch could open a gate that would teleport us into the woods and from there we would run it would give us enough of a head start that we could get far enough away so she could teleport us again.
Simple plan. But first. I had to take out a guard get his keys and unlock her and her cuffs before we could actually get anywhere.
Easy right? Yeah just take out the soul sucking vampire and teleport away.
The closer we got to the time to escape the more nervous I felt, and the more I started to feel like my old self. No more hiding away and not talking I know more scars added to the collection.
I heard the telltale sign of jingling keys coming through the hall. Coming for me.
I waited until he unlocked my cage and pulled the door open before I obediently walked to him. He was mildly surprised that I didn't put up a fight this time. I took his mild surprise and I decided to act on it.
My long unused training kicked in and I took the knife out of his belt before turning around and stabbing it through his eye. There wasn't much of a fight and it didn't processes that I just killed him until I dropped his body with a knife sticking out of it. One red lifeless eye stared up at me. I stared back down at him, wondering what this place has done to me.
I just thought of my family in that moment and as it passed through my brain, I came to the conclusion that they needed to be stopped.
I grabbed the keys and move to the cell next to mine. I fumbled in the dark until I found the door and inserted the same key that was in my door. Thirty seconds later there was a click and I ran into the cell.
"Hurry unlock me!"
With that process in my mind that maybe this person just wanted to kill me or it was a trap all I thought was I had to get out of here before they came back.
After searching for a key I settled on a small silver one that looked the same as the cuffs around the witches hands.
Once they clicked open I grabbed her hand and pulled her up. Off the floor she stumbled and we ran in the direction of the door. Within a minute we were at a giant steel door. The likes of which looked unopenable. I searched for handle or a key on the keyring but I couldn't find anything. I turned to the witch with a look of panic on my face.
"How do we open it!"
"You have to tell it to open remember? You're part Inibrius!"
Within all the shouting and banging open doors, people inside the other cells started to stir. Some were shouting to be freed but others just cried out in pain. I knew with the commotions, we wouldn't have long and my heart beat to help everyone else out but I knew I couldn't right now.
"Open it!"
I turned back to the door and something told me to reach forward. I wanted out. I wanted the door to open. As soon as my hand came in contact with the door, I heard clanking before the doors swung open.
I was euphoric. The witch grabbed my hand and we were off. Up a set of stairs and through another door. As soon as we got to the outside I nearly fell to the ground.
The grass was the greatest thing I've ever seen and it smelt so beautiful I was nearly crying. The witch grabbed my hand and I looked into her eyes. One nod of her head and we were wooshed away. My insides felt like they were being sucked out and rearranged at the same time. We landed and stopped just short of the Woods.
"I'm sorry I'm a little weak."
I grabbed her arm and pulled her up. "It's fine really. We're close."
In that moment shouting happened behind us. Inibrius came running from behind.
"I didn't mean to transport us this far away!"
