~Tutorial~
Lime green eyes fluttered open to the treehouse roof. The sound of birds chirping along to a song and the whistling of the breeze entered Rei's ears as he sat up. Clutching his head, he looked around. His GameBoy and Phone lay next to the bean bag, undisturbed by the advents that just took place. Rei stood up and grabbed his devices, checking his pocket to make sure his new game was still intact. He breathed out a sigh of relief before he noticed an icon in his field of vision. Under the icon was the word 'menu.' He reached out to press it, but, his hand fazed through.
"Is there another way to access this? Is it verbal access?" Rei murmured, staring at the icon. He decided to try it. "Menu."
As those words left his mouth, a series of texts appeared in a vertical line. Rei let his eyes wander over the text, lime scanning the transparent white. They were stats, listing from health, strength and speed to even intelligence and endurance. It was all like an RPG game.

He read over each stat, noticing the words above his name. Taking in the knowledge of his stats, his eyes glanced over a tab list of other small menus waiting to be accessed. 'Stats, character info, missions, options, help and exit. This is starting to get really strange. Maybe I should ask dad to see if he can see this all too.' Rei pondered as his eyes trailed down to 'exit'. "Exit menu." The text and tabs disappeared, but the menu icon stayed in the top right hand side of his vision. With a huff and sigh, Rei walked out of the treehouse and grabbed his bag. He slid down the ladder, landing on the ground with a soft 'thud'. Rei soon walked away, heading out of the forest and back into the streets.
By that time the sun was starting to dip below the horizon, the harsh beams of light glaring out into the sky. The brunette trudged on home, knocking on the wooden door once he reached his house. He checked the handle, twisting it until it opened. "I'm home!" Rei called out into the quiet house as he stepped inside. Taking his black sports shoes off, Rei walked into the living room where his father sat reading a book as the TV provided little noise in the background. He looked up at his son, a small smile settling onto his face as he beckoned him over.
"Hey there. How was school?" His father, Dean, asked, watching as Rei sat across from him, a troubled look crossing his face. "Is something wrong? Did something happen at school today? Any bullies I need to deal with?"
"No, no. Nothing happened at school today. It's just... when I went to the old treehouse, some weird... things happened," Rei trailed off a bit, a hand reaching behind his neck as he scratched nervously. "I'm still trying to get my head around it, but... I think it'd be better if I show you. If I can, for that matter," He mumbled the last part, a confused look making itself present on his father's face. It soon went away in place of a rather curious and shocked one as the word "menu" left his son's lips.
The series of tabs that came up before made themselves present in both father and son's point of views. Rei looked up and noticed the look across Dean's face. His gaze dropped back to the tabs as he held a finger out to touch one. It landed on 'missions', in which a series of new tabs opened up, all but one with a lock and chains on it.

Confused, he looked to Dean who wasn't any less confused then he was. Dean soon snapped out of his tranced state and stared at his son, a new look of understanding plastering on his face.
"I've heard of this before!" He quietly exclaimed, eyes widening as they practically shone in astonishment. "My mothers' great, great, great grandfather had a similar thing happen! I think we called it incantation. Yeah, that's right." Rei jump up from his seat, staring with wide eyes as his father continued. "It seems you've inherited his game-like vision. No one for many generations seemed to have any indication of this vision. This is amazing! To think my son has inherited his magnificent vision! It's extraordinary! I wonder what else you might inherit!"
Rei leaped at his father, a huge smile spread across his face as he cheered. He soon let go in favour of searching through his new-found vision's menu. He checked through character info, telling him about what he could do and 'equip', options, being the settings and help about the game. He was on the verge of crying tears of happiness. He jumped around, cheering so loud he thought the whole block may hear him. But that didn't stop him from hopping from foot to foot around the room as his father watched in joy. It was like watching a kid who'd just received a gift they've been asking for so long for. Rei hugged his father once more, hugging him so tightly that his legs almost gave out on him.
He released Dean, only for a fountain of words to start pooling from his lips. He gushed about all the things he could do with this vision, all the things to discover. He was excited and curious about all he could learn and figure out that he completely forgot about his games and the new cartridge he just bought only hours ago.
