Intro. Lies
I was a weird child.
I was a sick child.
I was a cursed child.
These words were drilled into my head as a kid. It changed over the years and became worse and worse as I grew. A kid wouldn't know any better. I didn't know any better.
I spoke my thoughts. Honest as always. But I was being punished for that...Why? I was always taught to never lie. I remember my childhood, clear as day. It haunts me in my nightmares and I would be so traumatized after waking up. I wouldn't sleep, for hours...days...weeks...the fear of reliving my past kept me awake. My (E/c) eyes wide open with bags growing each day. (H/c) hair messy like a bird's nest and my voice, scratchy and hoarse.
My past...it affected me greatly...so much that I forgot how to feel...to love.
~past~
She was a healthy baby. Born with beautiful (E/c) eyes and soft (h/c) hair. A baby that smiled without a care nor clue about the cruel world she was brought into. But the little baby was cursed with a wretched power. One that made people resent her for being different.
She was able to see the future.
~ A few years later~
"What now wretch? You have no words to say anymore now that Yuno is gone, huh?" (Y/n) was slapped across the face, the impact making her fall to the floor. (Y/n) caught herself before she could fall face first.
"Why are you doing this?" (Y/n) asked, looking up. Tears brimming her eyes and her voice full of hurt and curiosity.
"You ruined my life, now I'm going to ruin yours." The girl said and (y/n) was punched and kicked into darkness. When the girl awoke, she slowly lifted herself off the ground. She limped all the way home to her home on top of the mountains. This happened for many months. No one knew of the little girl's pain. She hid it with her smile. Her bruises, they were hidden by her mother's makeup.
One day, after the daily abuse of her classmates, (y/n) didn't feel anything but pain. She limped home, clutching onto the blood her classmates have inflicted on her. When she'd look at the trail she would feel overjoyed but with the condition she was in, she cried.
(Y/n) hiked her way up to the mountain, the wind increasing as a storm was brewing above her. The future flashed in her eyes and she gasped. She was used to these strange visions but didn't know what they meant. All she figured out was that they came true.
She started to run up the mountain, ignoring her aching and hurt body. Her body protested and she fell to the ground. (Y/n) grunted and frowned in pain. Reluctantly, she crawled her way up the rest of the trail as her house wasn't too far now.
She called out to the people inside, but no one heard her. The wind was strong now and it whipped her hair from side to side. She screamed as the future was becoming true. Lightning appeared and was striking everywhere. Before she could stand up, a huge bolt of lightning crashed into the middle of her house. She cried out and got up quickly.
"Onee-chan!!!" The girl cried as she spotted her sister's car. Screams of agony and pain were heard inside the house. (Y/n) ran up to the large wooden doors and tried to open it, but it was locked. She banged on the door yelling out for someone. Another lightning bolt hit the house, making pieces of rubble fly everywhere. The impact made the little girl go flying and as she sat up, she saw her house burn to ashes.
(Y/n) covered her mouth in shock as tears brimmed her eyes. All she heard was sirens getting fainter and fainter. A large hand grabbed her forearm and he was pulled up. A man came into her vision.
"Otousan..." She cried out. He gave her a sad smile and held her tightly.
"You're safe...you're safe..." He kept mumbling. (Y/n) cried into his chest and clutched onto his dress shirt in fear.
"I could...have stopped it..."
As the years went by. (Y/n)'s parents started to recognize her strange power. They didn't pay any mind into it but when it got personal, that's when they started to acknowledge it.
"Otousan! Okaasan! Finally, we get to be together!" (Y/n) cheered. Her parents were too busy with work and other things as well. It was their day off and she thought they'd spend time together.
"Are we going to the skating rink? Oh! What about the renaissance festival?!" The girl excitedly said as she jumped onto her father's lap. She looked at him with her big (E/c) eyes that were filled with innocence and wonder. No longer was despair shown in her eyes, it was as if half of her family members didn't die.
"I'm sorry sweetie, I have a late business meeting tonight." The girl looked at her mom, who was across from her dad. She gave her a smile and her eyes were filled with sadness.
"I'm sorry too, I was called to fill in for someone at the hospital." The girl stared at her mother. Her eyes colored into a pale blue. The adults didn't notice it. That's when (y/n) had to open her mouth.
"That's not fair mom! Why would you be napping with someone in a hotel?" The mother's eyes widen as she chocked on the tea she was slurping. The little child looked at her father.
"What about you? Who's Jessica and why are you cuddling in a car, daddy?" (Y/n)'s mother stood up, slamming her teacup onto the coffee table.
"Who's this Jessica she speaks of!" Her mother yelled.
"Who's this man she speaks of?" He yelled back, setting his daughter on the ground.
"Wha-What?! It-" The woman tried to explain herself but she was speechless. She stared at her daughter in anger.
"She's delusional, sweetie! It's all her fault!!" She tried to cover herself up. She accused (y/n) and pointed at her. (Y/n) cowered in fear and crouched towards the corner of the couch. Her parents glared at her with so much anger and hate.
"I'm not lying!" Her little voice spoke.
"Don't talk back to us, you liar!" Her father screamed at her he was about to throw something at (y/n). (Y/n) whimpered and jumped off the couch and ran upstairs before they could do anything.
Ever since that day, she vowed to never to be honest. She forced herself to lie and try not to mention her visions. She was ignored by her parents ever since that day. The lies she told were always exposed and the pain became more than she could handle.
The lies she succumbed to made her lose herself more and more each day.
But only one person made her break. That made her expel her emotions to a black hole. That made her never speak about her feelings again.
"Mom, I think dad is going to die!" The little girl said in fear for this was the truth. In roughly 30 minutes, as her father came home, he will die from a drunk driver. Crashing into him at an intersection. Just 3 minutes away from her home. (Y/n)'s mother slowly turned around at her, taking one sip of her whiskey. She was already used to her child's nonsense. But this one hurt, as it talked about her husband who was barely home anymore.
"Shut up you DEVIL CHILD!!!" She threw her glass towards the little girl as she barely dodged it. Tears streamed down her face as she looked at her mother in the state she was in. As she stood up, she swayed from side to side while her face was flushed pure red. The woman snatched her bottle and took a big gulp of it.
"I've had enough of your nonsense! How many times do you need to ruin my life until you're satisfied! You truly are a devil child...I'm leaving you once and for all." And with that said, she pushed the girl away as she went up the stairs to pack her belongings.
The little girl realized her mistake and she tried to chase after her mother. She barged into her room and what she saw broke her heart. Her mother cried while a phone was held tightly in her hand. After nodding and whispering a goodbye to the person on the phone, she fell to the floor and crouched against the bed.
"WHAAAAAAAAAWAHAAAAUUUU!!!!" Her mother screamed out as she looked up towards the ceiling. Tears kept pouring out of her (E/c) eyes and she slammed her fists on the wooden floor. She kept screaming and crying out all her frustrations and despair as her child stood in the doorway, unable to do anything for her mother. Tears streamed down (y/n)'s face as she held tightly the stuffed panda in her arms. She cried silent tears as she realized what had happened.
"M-mother?" The little girl's quiet voice startled the woman. The woman looked at her lap as she heard tiny footsteps shuffle towards her. Anger bloomed in her eyes when she realized this was her daughter's doing. She looked up sharply and saw her little hand about to comfort her. She stared at it then slapped it away as anger surged through her. She stood up abruptly, towering over the small girl.
"You...IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!!!!" Her mother cried out and she lunged towards the girl. The girl, not expecting this, was pushed down as her mother strangled the only daughter she had left. The little girl clawed at her mother's hands, trying to get them off. Her breath was slowly leaving her as her mother saw the life leave her eyes. A butler decided to walk in at the time and saw what the mother was doing to her slowly dying daughter.
"MILADY! YOU'RE KILLING HER!!!" The butler yelled and pried off the crazy mother. (Y/n) felt the pressure leave and she was able to breathe again. She gasped for air, looking like a dead fish. The mother snapped out of her trance and she widened her eyes at the sight before her. Her butler held her back as she saw her daughter take deep breaths. Bruises lined her neck and stomach and her eyes were slowly getting their life back. Instead of the cheerful, happy eyes, her daughter used to have they were now filled with terror and fear as the little girl spotted her.
'I'm a monster...' (Y/n) thought. Her mother stood up, bangs covering her eyes. She resumed to pack up and everyone just stared at her. When she was done, she looked up at her daughter. (Y/n) gasped at her lifeless eyes with bags underneath. As she walked out (Y/n) heard her mother say something before she walked out of her life.
"You cursed child. I wish I never brought you into this world."
Then, (y/n)'s mother left. You could hear the door slam shut as she walked out into the cold rain. The butler looked at the child in pity and tried to confront her.
"I'm....I'm a monster."
With that, (y/n) became lifeless. A doll to be pushed around and was unable to speak. The cruel world was exposed to her at such an early age, she had to get familiar with it. Her emotions were swept away like dust and her actions became useless. But unbeknownst to her, she still had that spark of hope deep within her damaged heart.
That spark of hope made her keep turning the pages of her story. But no longer interested in reading the story. The feeling of anticipation and curiosity was wiped out of existence as she just turned the page. Feeling that if she stopped, she would just be another useless soul with no reason to live.
But one day changed her life forever, the one day when she was taken under the wing of her hope.
