Fast steps sounded but he only noticed half-conscious.
He heard himself screaming, holding his face, trying to stop the ice from covering it.

"Yaen!" It was Tuula's voice.
He felt her hands on his, then she shouted at the others. "Stop the lady right now!"
"Aye!", he heard Adric and the next moment, the pain of the growing ice crystal stopped.
"Matthew!" Tuula helped Yaen on his feet and carried him into the human mage's direction. "You're a frost mage. Do something about this!"
"I will help too." With his one - not with ice covered - eye he saw Lian coming closer.
Tuula took his hair and pulled it out of his face so that the mages would not accidentally destroy it. As if he would care so much about it...

"I will break the ice in little pieces, you melt them away, alright?" Matthew put his huge hand on Yaen's cheek, murmuring some runes.
"Alright.", Lian replied and red sparks covered her fingertips when she carefully touched his cheek too.
Yaen felt nothing, maybe because of the draenei woman who also casted a spell on him.

He felt the ice breaking and soon the cold water on his skin...and blood.

"Tuula!", Lian shouted nervously and refused to continue melting the ice away.
Even Matthew stepped back. "This is bad, very bad. Lian, get Kheay here!"
The young woman nodded and ran away.

Tuula bowed and layed her hand on his cheek.
Violet lights flew through the air and suddenly pain rushed through his body.
Yaen wanted to scream but thanks to the ice he couldn't even open his mouth.

"Matthew, Adric, hold him.", Tuula grumbled while trying to keep his hands away from hers.

Then, steps sounded again.

"I'm here!" Kheay came closer as fast as she could. "I'm here. Tuula, I need your assistance. Keep on casting that spell of yours, the others try to make him stop moving. Matthew and Lian will continue breaking that ice. I will heal him."
So while the mages broke the ice and Tuula and Kheay channelled their healings into him, someone whispered in his ear to stay calm about this, that this wasn't the end at all and that he was in no life danger.

He closed his eyes, letting the others do what they did and slowly felt the pain vanishing.

"Applause everyone..." Kheay sighed and carefully hit his cheek. "You can open them now, we're finished."
"Thanks...", he mumbled, still in shock from the sudden pain.
"I hope you can live with that huge scar of yours. Jaina freezed parts of your face and when Matthew broke the ice, he broke your face too.", Tuula explained him. "But it doesn't look weird or ugly at all. See?"
Adric hold a mirror in his hands.
Yaen looked in it...and could only agree.
The scar was huge but it really did not look ugly. Not even scary...

"What the hell happened that she hit you like that?", Matthew asked confused.
"I must have reminded her of Arthas.", Yaen replied and stood up slowly. "She said something like that before she went crazy."
"You better get out of her way the next days...", Lian said and took his arm.  "Come, Yaen, get into bed. This day is over for you."

The morning came but nobody slept well, especially not Yaen.

His face was icecold and the scar hurt horribly.
As if Jaina would make him suffer again...

"Yaen, stop groaning.", Lian's voice reached his half-conscious mind. "I-It sounds...weird..."
"He must be dreaming of how de lady looks like if dey would be in bed togetha.", Adric's voice laughed provoking in his ear. "Ya want dat, don' ya?"
"I'm not dreaming.", he managed to mumble his first words. "It just hurts."
"Understandable." A small hand touched his face and opened his eyes. Tuula. "I apologise that I can't help. It seems my shadowhealing hurts you even more."
"You can try it again..."
"Are you sure you want that?"

Yaen nodded.
Tuula sighed, stepped closer and put one of her hands on his cheek as if she was about to kiss him but all she did was to say some words and in the next second he absorbed the shadow energy of the draenei who left the light behind her so much time ago.

"Does it hurt?"
"No, actually it feels good.", he answered louder when the pain vanished. "Can you open yourself a bit more?"
"But don't absorb too much.", Tuula warned him of his madness which appeared everytime he absorbed too much.

An explosion of the necessary dark energy surrounded him and his body reacted with strong absorbance.
The energy left Tuula's body and went into his.

But then it disappeared.

"Stop it now." Tuula sounded tired. "It's enough."
Yaen nodded disappointed. "Thanks a lot. I owe you something."
"Teach me the use of the void.", she told him her greatest wish, grinning. "Oh, and sing a song for me."
"I- "
"You owe me something."

The others who had been listening the whole time laughed loudly.

"You promised.", Matthew reminded him. "And we will all listen to you."
"I sometimes hate you really much.", Yaen replied without hesitating and completely serious.

While the others spread, laughing amused, he stood up and decided to leave the ship for today.

He still was in his clothing from the other day so there would be no problem in running off this day.
So he looked outside and well, it was a bit rainy but that was nothing he couldn't handle.
He was a voidelf.
He lost some of his perceptions and sometimes only a bit of one.
For example feeling the cold.

"Where are you going?" Lian grapped his hand and pulled him back inside. "Remember that you can't leave without breakfast."
"Well, I could." Yaen grinned at the smaller woman.
"But as you know me I wouldn't let you." Lian forced him on a chair and put a plate with delicious-smelling food on the table before him. "So eat up. I made it especially for you. But don't think I will treat you like that forever. You're hurt. That's all." She wanted to turn around but then bond and whispered in his ear. "I will absolutely support your love, just as everyone here. But don't think that our men and mostly Tuula aren't planning something to get you two together."

Yaen's face got all red but when he turned around to ask the fire mage for more details, she was gone.
