"What happened?" Rose yelled in worry as she ran to Chan's side, trying to check his temperature.

"He passed out a few hours ago. I wanted to call you but I bet it's dangerous for an Icicle to be wandering around in the Fire Kingdom. Do you have a thermometer? I think I have an idea of what's happening," Lynn responded.

Chan lay seemingly lifeless on the ground. His skin was becoming more tanned and his hair and clothes were slowly turning deep blue.

Bam didn't look much better either. He, too, was turning blue and he looked on the verge of fainting. Beads of sweat cascaded down his worn-out face and he gasped for air with quick, unsteady breaths.

"There are a few in the kitchen. I could get it real quick if you want," Rose told her.

"I'd appreciate it. I need to see what I'm working with here... Also, a weird burning cat creature found us in here earlier on. I hope that isn't anything bad."

"His name is Dusk. He's Fire's fire tiger. And yes, I think its bad. But nothing has come out of it just yet. I have to see Fire in the evening. She'll probably mention it then."

Sorry in advance," Lynn gave her a sympathetic smile. "I never meant to get you in trouble."

"No worries. Now let me go get that thermometer."

Rose returned minutes later with a thermometer and two Flames trailing behind her.

"Oh, hello," Lynn chuckled a bit when she saw them. "My name's Lynn. What's yours?"

The two boys looked at each other before mumbling, "hot."

"What was that?"

"They said you're hot," Rose rolled her eyes at them. "It means you're good-looking."

"Oh really?" Lynn grinned. "Thank you. I guess you guys are pretty 'hot' too."

"First day in the Fire Kingdom," Bam spoke painfully slow. "And you're already flirting."

"Yeah, I like her already," Aidan beamed. "Hi, I'm Aidan and this is Felix."

"Pleasure to meet you." She turned to Rose. "Brought the thermometer?"

"Yeah, here you go."

As soon as Lynn got hold of the thermometer, she turned to Chan and placed the end in his mouth. The temperature dropped drastically. Rose had never seen it go so low. But Lynn gasped in fear nonetheless.

"What's wrong?" Felix asked. "Is he too cold?"

"No," she shook her head. "Quite the opposite actually. He's too hot."

"He's negative ten degrees Celsius. How is that too hot?"

"Ice melts at zero degrees Celsius. If he reaches zero, I fear he'll melt completely."

"What happens when ice melts? Does it form cold lava?" Aidan asked.

"No, you doof!" Lynn chuckled. "It forms water. That's why he's getting blue."

"What water?" Aidan and Felix asked in unison.

"The liquid version of steam," Rose answered, surprised she even knew the answer.

"But..." Felix started. "Steam is already cold... How could it possibly be colder?"

"My question is water's already too hot, how could it possibly be hotter?" Lynn asked.

"Is there a middle ground?" Aidan asked. "Where ice and lava live together?"

"Ice, maybe not," Fire's voice came from the door, making them all turn in both shook and horror. "Water, yes. Long ago, ice barely existed. Water, Fire, Air and Earth lived together. And by long ago, I mean billions of years ago."

"Fire!" Rose stood up quickly to cover Lynn. "What are you doing here?"

"Drop it, Rose. My loyal tiger told me everything. What were you thinking? Inviting Icicles to stay with you? You know better!"

"They were melting, I only wanted to help."

"You aren't helping. You don't get it. This could ruin everything. You possibly just messed with fate."

"It's not to that extent-"

"Not to that extent? You think the Aquidan and Embidan were meant to meet like this? It should have been strong, more powerful and noticeable. And when it happened, Dria should have fallen. Should have ended."

Lynn turned to Rose.

"You're an Embidan?"

"You're an Aquidan?" Rose asked in response.

"You see? You didn't even know. You should have know and... Oh my goodness. Is he alright?" Fire was now running to Chan's side. He was like semi-set jelly now. The thermometer was still left in his mouth and  was rapidly rising up to negative five degrees Celsius.

"Chan!" Lynn yelled, trying to get him up. "Don't die on me. Wake up! Wake up! Please."

"We need to get him to the palace," Fire stated. "Dusk, carry him."

Dusk appeared from the shadows and shot Fire and unamused look.

"Do I look like a mule?" He asked with sass. "Or do you mistake me for a donkey? Maybe even a horse."

"Well, I mean you are stubborn as a donkey. Now do as I say and get him to the palace. He's body temperature is approaching zero as we speak! And hurry. Aidan, you go with him. Along with the other melting one. Lynn and Rose, you come along as well. But I need to talk to you. It's urgent," Fire commanded.
