Jewel's POV

I ran until I couldn't run any more. And when that happened, I collapsed against a tree and hoped that the woman wouldn't find me.

What had happened to everyone else? Had they escaped? Could they have been captured? Or killed?

Even with my life on the line, I was feeling pretty tired after all that running. Before I even knew what was happening, I had closed my eyes and fallen asleep.

"Took you long enough," A familiar voice complained. I opened my eyes and blinked a few times. Standing in front of me was Shadow.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I could ask you the same question. I thought you were confined to the castle!" Shadow pointed out.

"I was. How did you find me, and who are you really?" I asked.

"I can tell you're pretty freaked out right now. I'll tell you the truth, and I'll just have to hope you don't think I'm crazy. I have special powers. I can heal, I can travel through shadows, I can put people to sleep, and I can do a thing called Dream Walking. After I searched the castle and realized you weren't there, I waited until you fell asleep. As soon as you did, I sensed your dreams and came here," He explained.

"What do you know about Pitch Black?" I demanded. Shadow sighed.

"He's sort of my father," He said quietly.

"And Haze?"

"She's my sister."

"What about all of my brothers and sisters going missing?" I asked.

"Your brothers and sisters are missing?" He asked.

"I lied to you before. I'm Jewel Frost, Princess of Arendelle castle," I said as royally as I could. Shadow's eyes widened, and then he groaned and began pacing. I couldn't hear most of what he was muttering to himself, but I caught the words "I hate you Haze" and "Dad is going to kill me". After a moment, Shadow stopped pacing.

"Let me get this straight. You're Jewel Frost, daughter of Jack Frost and Elsa Frost, sister to Snowflake, Jack Jr., Edward, and Jenny?" He asked. I nodded.

"Dad is seriously going to kill me this time," Shadow moaned.

"Why?" I asked.

"My dad and your dad hate each other. Actually, my dad hates your whole family. He sent me and my sister to kidnap all of your brothers and sisters, including you, and bring them to him. What I didn't know, and Haze didn't tell me, was that you're one of the Frosts. Dad is going to be furious that you still escaped! But I won't bring you to him. No way. So that means he's going to finally actually kill me!" Shadow moaned.

"If you won't bring me to him, why don't you help me rescue my family?" I asked.

"That would be suicide. The only way to my house, which is where he's keeping them, is by shadow travel. And I don't think I can take a passenger on that. At least, not a conscious passenger. Besides, my dad will set Haze or my mom on us. Haze would be happy to kill us, and I don't think my mom cares either way," Shadow explained.

"Does your mom happen to have glowing white hair and a dress made out of black mist?" I asked.

"So you do know about her!" He said.

"She just attacked me and the rest of my family. I managed to escape because whatever she tried to do to me didn't work," I explained.

"Didn't work? That's weird..." Shadow said.

"Oh look! All the people I need are in one place!" A voice suddenly said. Both Shadow and I turned to look at the new speaker.

"Now, who should I deal with first?" Haze asked with a smirk.
