Abduction
Jewel's POV
The kids all ran through the snow, throwing snowballs and building forts. Snowflake had a whole herd of unicorns trotting after her. They all laughed and shouted, making it hard for me to think. There was too much I didn't know, too many pieces missing in the puzzle.
"Hey, are you ok?" Jenny asked, sitting beside me. I sighed.
"I guess." I said.
"Need some alone time?" She teased.
"Yeah, that's exactly what I need right now. Is it ok if I leave the kids with you?" I asked. Jenny shrugged.
"Sure. Go enjoy yourself."
"Thanks." I said, standing up. I left the room and walked down the hall, deep in thought. I was so busy looking at the floor and walking, that I almost jumped out of my skin when I heard a voice.
"You!" It was Shadow. I looked up.
"Shadow? What are you doing here?" I asked. He was standing a little ways down the hall. A girl was beside him. She was watching me curiously. I felt like I had seen her before somewhere. Then I remembered. The girl from my dream! She had the same white hair and red eyes.
"I'm here... actually, it doesn't matter. What are you doing here?" He asked.
"I sort of live here." I said.
"Oh. I never caught your name."
"Jewel."
"She can see you?" The girl asked.
"Yeah. I can see you too. You're not exactly invisible." I said. She started.
"I was surprised too. She could see me when no one else could." Shadow said.
"Interesting. And no one told her about me... We need to take her to dad. He could find out more about this." The girl said.
"No way!" Shadow protested.
"Why? Dad could finally be proud of you."
"No. Please, don't tell him about her Haze."
"You guys know I'm right here listening to you, right?" I asked.
"No one's talking to you pinhead." Haze snapped. I frowned. She studied Shadow's face.
"Wow, you love her, don't you?" She finally said, then started laughing. I didn't see what was so funny. Shadow started blushing.
"Ok. I won't tell dad. But I don't want her following us either." Haze said. Black sand swirled around her fingers.
"No!" Shadow shouted. I took a step back as Haze pointed at me. The black sand shot towards me like a bullet, striking me just above the heart. My vision turned black, and I heard inhuman screams fill my head. Then everything faded into darkness.
Shadow's POV
Jewel collapsed like a rag doll. I ran forward and knelt beside her, pulling her into my arms. She was alive.
"Don't worry, I didn't kill her." Haze said.
"Why did you do that?" I demanded.
"For starters, she can see both you and me. Also, she was probably going to stop us as soon as she found out what we were up to. And she's... never mind." Haze said, shaking her head slightly. I looked at Jewel's pale face.
"We need to go. Places to go, kids to kidnap." Haze said.
"We should take her with us." I said finally. Might as well get her out of this prison.
"No. I thought you didn't want to take her to dad."
"I don't."
"Then she stays. If you really want her, then you can come get her yourself later. Dad gave us a job to do."
"At least let me move her."
"Suite yourself. I'll go get the kids. Meet me at the nightmare." With that, Haze took off running down the hall and around the corner. I picked Jewel up in my arms, bridal style, and set off down the hallway. I entered a bedroom and set her down on the bed. I hoped she would think it was all a dream. I stood there watching her for a moment. Then I heard footsteps. There was no where to run. I jumped into the closet and closed the door, leaving a big enough crack to see through.
"And this is where you guys can stay. It has everything you need... Jewel?" I saw a woman with platinum blond hair and blue eyes enter the room, with a woman that had strawberry blond hair and a man with blond hair. I could only assume they were Queen Elsa, Princess Anna, and Prince Kristoff.
"Poor thing. She must have been exhausted." Anna said. Another man entered the room, this one with white hair. King Jack. Elsa walked up to Jewel and gently shook her.
"Jewel? Wake up Jewel." She said softly. Jewel didn't stir.
"Jewel?" She asked. She sounded more worried now. Jack walked up to them and checked Jewel.
"This is no ordinary sleep. It was caused by nightmare sand." He said. Everyone gasped.
"The children!" Elsa shouted, running down the hall. Kristoff and Jack followed, leaving Anna with Jewel. Time to go. I slipped out of the room and down the hall, back to me and Haze's meeting place.
