cafe

yoongi sat up, mussing up his tangled mop of blue hair.

the hem of his shirt grazed his thighs as he stumbled, half- asleep, to the bathroom.

a fully bathed yoongi stepped out of the bathroom fifteen minutes later, moving over to the kitchen to make breakfast.

when he moved over to seoul from daegu, he thankfully was able to find an apartment with a generous landlord who could at least provide him with an apartment with a boiler/heater, with a little help from namjoon.

at that moment, a knock came from the door.

opening it, he was greeted by the mouth-watering scent of omelettes and the smiling face of his landlord, kim seokjin.

"hi yoongi, i was just wondering if you'd like some of my omelettes." he said, holding up the plate of omelettes in his hand.

"yeah, yeah, sure, come in,"

seokjin set the plate down on the dining table.

however, just as yoongi was about to shut the door, namjoon popped up.

"holy shit, joon," yoongi said, clutching his heart. "never fucking do that again."

namjoon strolled in, calmly plopping down onto his sofa. "it's only nine in the morning, hyung," he replied nonchalantly, grabbing the remote and turning on the tv. "don't curse."

"whatever."

seokjin helped yoongi set the table, and made some toast for the three of them afterwards.

"it's been a while since you last let me in your apartment." namjoon stabbed his fork into a piece of his omelette.

"well i'm sorry but whenever you come here something breaks," the blue haired male retorted. "and that's not good, because you come here pratically every day to watch your stupid drama."

"well, i'm sorry my tv keeps breaking-"

"yah, you two stop fighting and hurry up and finish your meals." seokjin reminded, struggling to reach the plate of toast all the way on the other side of the table.

upon seeing his hyung desperately wiggling his fingers to reach the plate, namjoon kindly placed it nearer to him, seokjin muttering a barely audible 'thank you'.

they quickly finished their breakfast, and while seokjin and namjoon helped wash the dishes, yoongi decided to lounge on the couch instead of helping the other two, despite them being in his rented apartment.

"you know what, you two can go ahead to work, and i'll finish up the dirty dishes, since you're running a bit late." seokjin declared, putting down the dish he was busy scrubbing.

"are you sure?" both namjoon and yoongi shot him surprised glances.

"why not? i am the landlord anyways, so i have the keys." he replied, twirling the apartment key around on his finger.

"ok then," yoongi said, dubious, as he and namjoon obediently complied, taking off their coats from the coat rack.

"don't stay too long," namjoon told seokjin, yoongi nodding his head in agreement, shutting the door behind him.

the older man smiled to himself, turning back to the dirty utensils.

"just move that box in the corner into the storeroom and that's about it." yoongi said, wiping his hands on his pants.

namjoon did as he was told, and yoongi placed the 'out for lunch' on the counter.

yoongi suggested going their own ways, and after a moment's hesitation, namjoon agreed, and hence both boys split paths, heading off to different places to have lunch.

yoongi settled on a quaint cafe nestled between a small grocery store and a clothing store.

he walked up to the counter, studying the menu before ordering an iced coffee and a sandwich.

suddenly, a blonde haired boy marched up to the counter, calling, "hansol-ah!"

the brown haired boy who was busy preparing yoongi's coffee perked up and uttered a 'hold on' before quickly passing yoongi his drink, telling him to wait for a moment, and turned to the other boy.

"yes, seungkwan, what is it?"

"i-"

another boy entered the room, although this time, from the door behind the counter, which was for employees only.

"yah, seungkwan!" he greeted loudly.

the brown haired boy, whose name was apparently 'hansol', nudged the newcomer.

"hyung, help him with his sandwich." he said, jerking his thumb at yoongi.

"what? but i can deal with seungkwan." the boy said, pouting.

"soonyoung, he's my boyfriend."

the older boy chuckled, rolling his eyes at the younger before his mop of dark blue hair disappeared into the kitchen and reappeared again with yoongi's sandwich.

yoongi passed the payment to him.

"nice hair." he commented.

"thanks," the guy said. "though you should've seen my previous hair colours."

yoongi sat down at a table at the the very corner of the cafe, silently sipping his coffee.

he was basking in the peaceful atmosphere, contentedly eating his sandwich.

that is, until another person decided to have a seat with him at his table.

the person had familiar orange hair, and a brilliant smile.

the guy from the park.

"i see you finally have yourself a decent coat," he remarked, taking a sip of his drink.

yoongi shrugged.

"oh and by the way," the orange haired guy piped up. "i haven't really introduced myself yet."

yoongi sighed, rubbing his temples. "what good would it do for me to know your name anyway?"

"well, who knows when we'll chance upon each other like this again?"

"whatever."

"anyways, i'm hoseok. jung hoseok."

hoseok extended his arm to yoongi.

reluctantly, yoongi shook his outsretched hand. "min yoongi."

"yoongi, huh." hoseok said, resting his head on his palm. "hey yoongi, can i have your phone number?"

"no." he bluntly rejected.

"hm, ok then," hoseok said, leaning closer. "how bout this, if we manage to meet a third time, will you give me your number?"

"the chances of that happening is really low."

hoseok rolled his eyes, grinning excitedly. "i know," he held out his pinky finger. "but in case it ever happens, promise me your number, ok?"

yoongi linked his pinky finger with hoseok's. sure, it was incredibly childish, but he didn't think his luck would last that long.

satisfied, hoseok flashed yoongi his usual heart shaped grin.

weirdly enough, yoongi felt this butterfly feeling down at the pit of his stomach.

he shrugged it off, dismissing it as his sandwich.

he and hoseok spent a few minutes talking (though hoseok did most of the talking).

it wasn't long until yoongi had to return to the store, and he waved to hoseok as they parted ways at the front of the cafe. hoseok waved back at yoongi, his lips curling into a small smile.

yoongi felt himself do the same, his lips turning up slightly at the corners, and stuffing his hands in his pockets, he walked away.
