🦋 [One] 🦋
Her long, frosted grey cloak swayed behind her as she fled from her evil step mother's rule.
Anywhere away from her. The young girl thought, keeping the tears conained within her eyes.
Anywhere.
Soon enough, Snow White couldn't tell where she came from... the snow covered her footprints and her memory was never any good in the first place.
Her pale face spun around to see trees everywhere.
Anywhere is better than there.
She comforted herself, feeling confident in herself.
Snow took one more look back towards the castle, or where she thought the castle was, before continuing her adrenaline filled running.
After an hour or so, Snow White was feeling tired. Her limbs ached, her ill-rested mood and the cold were working against her.
I'll be used to it soon.
She thought, trying to lighten her thinking with optimism.
Maybe if I rested, I'll feel better?
Snow decided against the idea, reasoning with herself that she would just get colder.
Her thoughts drifted to her warm, big bed in the castle.
Is Anywhere really better than there?
She asked herself, suddenly not feeling so confident.
Where is Anywhere?
Her previous optimistic, confident mood dropped, revealing her panicked self exposed to the bitter cold.
Snow stopped running, and quickly gave up on walking. She found herself with her back leaning against the tough bark of the largest tree.
First, she lost feeling in her legs.
Then, her fingers lost their colour.
Maybe she isn't so bad.
Snow White pondered what she would be doing now, if she hadn't decided to run away.
When she decided that she was too tired, Snow finally let the warm tears drop down her cheeks.
They were the only source of heat she had.
Maybe Anywhere is worse than with her.
Her last thought ran through her mind.
Snow watched as her fingers slowly began to freeze.
A light blue to a purple colour occupied her previously white fingers.
She leant her head back, feeling so much more tired than before.
However, the aching in her fingers and toes worsened and prevented her to fully fall asleep.
Snow was dangling between awake and eternal, peaceful sleep.
Eyelashes frozen and limbs relentlessly aching, Snow decided that she would get back to the castle after a nap.
She slowly and silently fell into a soft sleep, only dreaming for a couple of seconds.
The snow storm arrived at the castle a few days later, killing Snow's stepmother and freeing the people from her cruel leadership.
Together, with very little, they held a funeral for the little girl that never came home.
After naming the snow storm after her, the search parties finally found Snow White: eyes frozen, fingers and toes separated from her body, half eaten by a starving, frozen animal.
The town was later renamed Anywhere.
