'...And another shooting in the city of Belleville. Detectives still have no suspects in custody at the moment.'

Gerard wickedly grinned at the television and wiped the side of his knife blade on his black pants. He brought it up so he was able to see his reflection. Again, he wickedly grinned. The black haired man jumped up from his couch when there was a knock on the door. He put the knife in his knife holster he kept in his boot, took out his gun from where he kept it in his pants and cocked it. The man walked up to the door and put the barrel of the gun against it and cautiously opened the door, keeping his right arm behind the door.
"What do you want?" He spat, making the person at the door recoil.
"I'm sorry- I was uh, I was wondering if you- um, you've seen m-my puppy anywhere?"
Gerard looked at the boy- that was obviously way younger than him- with much interest. He realized this boy was harmless, so he thought about removing his gun from that position, but then he remembered that he could never be too sure about this kid.
"What's it's name?" Gerard raised his eyebrow.
"Her name is-is Sweet Pea..."
"Nope, never seen the little shit anywhere," Gerard quickly said and slammed the door shut.
He's never had any visitors. Not even his parents or brother visited him.
Gerard lived in the outskirts of Belleville, New Jersey, which he was perfectly content with. Sure, he still had neighbors, but they never bothered him. The twenty-four year old man is lonely and he's been like since god knows how long. Gerard pushes people away, that's why his family has given up on him.
It's sad, but he doesn't see it like that. He thinks he's strong, and not just physically strong, Gerard thinks he's mentally strong. But soon, Gerard is destined to break, and that might just cause him to end up in prison. Slowly though, Gerard is breaking. Slowly but surely.
Gerard checked out his window to make sure that boy has left. He wasn't able to hear footsteps walk away when he closed the door in his face, so he just wants to make sure he's gone before he heads back downstairs to finished some business. And sure enough, that boy was in fact gone. The boy was small, so that's why he didn't make much noise, Gerard knew.
You see, this man is smart. No, Gerard isn't just smart, he is a prodigy. Back when he was younger, he was the smartest in his school, and I'm not just over exaggerating here, because Gerard has a special mind that no one is able to figure out. Only he is able to figure out his brain, and he doesn't plan on letting anybody in.
Gerard walked to the back of his house and opened the door that leads to the basement. There were muffled screams that made him roll his eyes.
"Oh shut it!" Gerard yelled, making the man squeeze his eyes shut and hesitantly complied. "Thank you."
The black haired man sat on his fold up chair he placed in front of his victim before and stared at the bloody man.
"You're an ugly motherfucker." Gerard stated. The man before him yelled and kicked, trying to get out of the chains. Gerard stood up, glared at the man and took the bandana out of his mouth. The man glared back at his kidnapper before he spat in his face, making Gerard grow furious. "You little shit!"
Gerard slapped the man and took the knife out from his boot. He brought it up to the man's face and carved a capital 'G' on his forehead. The man screamed and Gerard laughed.
"There ya go, motherfucker." Gerard smiled proudly at the man. His victim was about to scream again, but Gerard knocked him out and put the bloody, wet bandana back in his mouth.
"Bitch," Gerard muttered as he walked back up with wooden stairs while he wiped the blood off on his pants once more.
The next morning, Gerard had to go and get something from the store. He was happy it was a Friday morning, so most kids will be in school.
Gerard quickly got dressed and brushed his teeth before he made some eggs. After he ate, he walked downstairs and checked up on his victim. He was still knocked out. Probably from the lack of food and/or water. Or probably from the loss of blood. Gerard doesn't care, so he went back upstairs.
He decided to walk, since he only had to get one thing.
It didn't take long for him to get to the store, but on the way there, he noticed a few papers on those wooden poles on the side of the streets. Curiosity got the best of Gerard and he walked up to one paper and looked it over. It had the description of the dog and a picture of it. The flyer had a name of the family and of the dog. The last thing it had was the contact information.
Gerard smirked and ripped the paper from the pole before he walked into the store.
"Find everything you needed?" The cashier asked once he got what he needed.
"Yeah." Gerard took out his wallet.
"That'll be ten ninety-eight."
Gerard gave the cashier a ten and a one dollar bill and waited for him to get his two cents back. Usually people like Gerard would've just stolen the item, but that's too risky, and Gerard doesn't want to go to jail for something so simple.
When he came home, he noticed the same boy from yesterday sitting on his doorstep. As he walked up his small driveway, he groaned and rolled his eyes, which caught the attention from the boy.
"Hi- uh, sir," the boy quietly welcomed and got up from his sitting position.
"The hell you want, boy?" Gerard narrowed his eyes as he unlocked his door.
"I know- I know that I came here uh, I came last night, b-but you uh, you haven't t-taken a look at th-the picture of m-my puppy," the boy stuttered out and showed Gerard the picture.
The older man already unlocked his door, he just decided to focus his attention on this fairly attractive boy in front of him.
"I've already seen the picture around town. Now, is there anything else you need?" Gerard asked, sounding bored. The boy looked down, sadly, and shook his head. He sniffed and looked back up with tears in his eyes.
"O-okay, th-thank you any-anyways..." The boy stuttered again before he turned around and let a few tears drop from his eyelashes.
Gerard, being his douche-y self, did nothing but stand there and watch as the boy walked away wiping away his tears. Once he was out of sight, Gerard opened his door and walked in, making sure to lock back up. He sighed and put the item he bought on his couch.
He then looked around his house and rolled his eyes.
"I have such an awesome life," Gerard muttered to himself and walked upstairs to his room to take a short nap.
It was only about three o'clock in the afternoon when he heard the man in his basement start screaming. Gerard groaned and cursed to himself as he walked down the stairs to his living room. He got his new thing he bought and walked to his basement.
"I didn't wanna use this on you this soon, you fucker." Gerard said once he was sat in front of the man. Gerard took the thing out of its package and smiled. "You like it?"
The other man screamed but Gerard just smirked and shook his head.
"If you make any noise, I'll make your pain unbearable. I mean- more unbearable."
The black haired man pressed the trigger and there it was.
Fire.
He waved the flame in front of the other man's face, making him scream, completely ignoring what Gerard had said to him.
Gerard groaned and brought the flame closer to the man's face, making him pass out.
"Good." He smiled and turned off the blow torch before he placed it on a table down in his basement and walked back upstairs.
Gerard watched TV in the meantime until he decided he was too tired to do anything. He walked to his room and took off all his clothes, except his boxers, and climbed into bed.
And even though he didn't mean to, Gerard fell asleep with a wicked grin spread across his face.
