The rest of the week went slowly but somehow smoothly.

Classes went on as usual, cheerleading practices were tiring, and Noah and I went back to normal. We went to the Tracks again to watch races and everyone came over a few times for dinner and we all acted like everything was normal but I couldn't help but feel like I disrupted their whole dynamic. I saw Logan and his friends a few times during class or school but I didn't pay much attention, there was too much on my mind.

When Saturday came around I went to work again, spent the day with Christina. Last Sunday when I answered a phone call I wasn't expecting:

"Hi welcome to The Cherry on Top ice cream shop how may I serve you t-"

"Are you Australian?" a voice asked on the other end of the phone, "because you meet all of my koalafications"

"Huh?"

Christina explained how it was this guy that kept calling her but when she told me she had the widest smile on her face and I could definitely sense a ship coming along.

After work I was waiting for Mia to come around to my place for Monique's party, I put on my dress which had a halter neckline, it was sleeveless, maroon and ended a bit above my knees, it was tight at the waistline and flowed down the rest of the way. I slipped on my silver locket and put on a pair of black pumps, Mia instructed me not to do my makeup or hair by telling me in only a way Mia could; threatening to slit my neck while I slept.

When Mia arrived she looked absolutely stunning, she wore her white dress that we bought that day in the mall.

"Chase isn't going to be able to resist you" I winked at her and she blushed.

"Damn I'm good!" she cried when she showed me the mirror after doing my makeup and hair, and she wasn't wrong, with warm Smokey eye, red lipstick and my hair in soft curls, dare I say – I looked pretty.

"I mean when I started you looked like Donkey from Shrek but God look at you now, you'r like princess Fiona before she became an ogre!"

"Gee, thanks Mia" I retorted sarcastically but I couldn't stop the smile that graced my face.

"It's like you were meant for parties where people look stunning and have amazing bodies and-"

"Aww, thanks Mia"

"You didn't let me finish, as I was saying we need people like you to break those kind of stereotypes"

I shot her a deadpan look, "I hate you" I said throwing a pillow at her which she easily deflected,

"Oh please you love me" she said and we walked to her car to pick up Chase.

After we picked up Chase we headed towards the party.

When we got there everything was already in full swing, pop music was blasting from every direction, the lawn was littered full of red solo cups and the smell of alcohol among other things was immensely over powering.

We walked up to the place which was a large white building that would've like much more breathtaking if it weren't for the drunk people hanging around.

"Chase & Mia plus one" Chase said to a large buff guy that was probably hired to do that thing in clubs where they have a list and you can't come in unless you're on it.

The guy checked his phone and nodded, stepping aside to let us in.

When we walked in neon lights flashed in the front room where everyone was dancing to the beat of the music.

I'm surprised someone hasn't had a seizure yet.

Mia grabbed Chase and I's hand and dragged us to the kitchen where it was quieter and where people were getting drinks.

"Okay I'm the designated driver but please don't get drunk off your asses okay? Okay!" Mia beamed while Chase and I nodded,

"Alex you look really good today" and I furrowed my eyebrows at him and Mia discreetly coughed, "oh and you too Mia".

"Um thanks Chase, you should go catch up with your friends" I said and he nodded and walked off into the crowd,

Mia looked at me with a pout, "Chase isn't going to be able to resist you she said, we're going to make him think that this is girlfriend material she said" and I gave her a small smile,

"We've still got the whole night, don't we?" I told her and she nodded hesitantly, "well then let's have some fun!" and she smiled brightly at me as I lead her to the dance floor.

We were dancing for quite a while before Mia said she's going to go meet up with a friend and she'll be back soon, she also asked if I wanted to come but I declined after I spotted a certain someone amongst the crowd. Or a few certain someones actually.

Logan, Kasey, Will, Val, Ethan and Grayson to be exact.

"Hey guys!" I greeted them and I received a chorus of greeting back,

"Having fun?" Grayson asked me and I nodded,

"Alex, let's go for a walk shall we?" Kasey asked me and I was surprised that she wanted to talk to me,

"Yeah sure, just one sec" I told her before turning to the rest of the boys "if I don't come back soon assume I'm dead" I stage whispered so Kasey could hear me too. They laughed and even Kasey cracked a smile as we walked out into the backyard where it was quieter and there were less people around.

"Before I met you" she started, "I judged you based on what everyone said and from what I heard you were the enemy, so naturally I believed it too. I thought you deserved that kind of treatment that I gave you, but when you helped me that day even though I was rude to you, you still helped me and I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm sorry for acting that was towards you and I know I said that we won't be friends but maybe we could try that again? You know? Start over, it's okay if you don't want to I totally understand and I-"

"Alex" she started again, "I just wanted to say thank you for you know helping me even though you had no reason to and I'm sorry because I was so incredibly rude to you"

"No problem" I replied easily, "but Kasey? I just wanted to know that when we first met what did I ever do to make me hate you so much?"

"It's gang stuff Lex, I'll tell you when I think you're ready and right now you're not but I can say that before I met you I judged you based on what everyone said and from what I heard you were the enemy, so naturally I believed it too. I thought you deserved that kind of treatment that I gave you, but when you helped me that day despite how I acted towards you and you still helped me -I guess what I'm trying to say is, I know I said that we won't be friends but maybe we could try that again? You know? Start over, it's okay if you don't want to I totally understand and I-"

"Yes" I said cutting her off, "I'd love to be friends",

She grinned and I grinned back,

"I'm going to uh go back inside? You coming?" she asked and I shook my head.

I was enjoying the cool breeze rather than the dense air and smell of alcohol inside.

I stood there for a few minutes just enjoying the fresh air I decided it was time to go inside again but then I saw Chase walk out who could barely walk in a straight line.

"Chase! Mia said not to drink too much" I scolded and he gave me a large grin,

"Oops?"

"Come on, let's get you sobered up" I told him but he grabbed my wrist and pulled me back,

"No" he frowned and I furrowed my eyebrows at him, only then I noticed half the football team was staring at our little interaction, they all had large smirks on their faces and they were giving Chase small thumbs ups from where they were standing.

"No?" I asked confused, "why not?"

"Because then I wouldn't be able to do this-" he said and I was about to ask what he meant before he kissed me.

He just kissed me and I could smell the alcohol on him, but I didn't kiss back, instead I shoved him hard enough that he stumbled.

But he wasn't the biggest problem right now,

The biggest problem was the loud gasp accompanied by a shaky voice that said, "Chase? Alex?" and my eyes widened,

I turned around to see Mia standing a few feet away from us her eyes filled with a look of pure betrayal.

"Mia! Mia wait!" I called about to follow her but she didn't stop.

Then I saw Logan who stood near the door way, his face showing absolutely no sign of emotion like every single ounce of what ever he felt the moment before was gone and he was damn good at hiding it.
