Chapter 2

The sunlight slanted through the tall oaks of the secluded park, dappled light flickering across the uneven grass where fourteen children, aged six, hesitated and circled each other with the unsteady curiosity of youth. Each carried a world inside them far too heavy for their years, a weight only they could feel, a darkness hidden beneath small smiles and tentative gestures. Ciel, sharp-eyed and withdrawn, observed from the edge, the faint scent of lingering fear and sorrow marking him as different. He noticed Ichigo first, the boy whose quiet wariness matched his own, and in a flicker of instinct understood he would be both challenge and ally. Ciel stood apart, small hands clenched at his sides. His dark eyes studied the others carefully. "Who... are you?" he asked softly, voice cautious. His tone carried the weight of someone accustomed to careful words.

"I'm Ichigo," said the boy with a short, sharp nod, stepping forward with his twin sisters clinging to him. "Ichigo Kurosaki. And you...?"

"Ciel Phantomhive," he replied, the name clipped, precise. He didn't smile, but his gaze lingered, measuring. "You... seem strong."

Ichigo's lips pressed together, wary. "We had to survive. That's... all that matters." His sisters tugged at his sleeve. "We're not here to fight anyone," he added quickly.

From the fountain, Tanjiro's gentle voice carried across the grass. "I'm Tanjiro Kamado," he said, bowing slightly, a habit of politeness despite his cautious eyes. His siblings lined up behind him, eyes wide and anxious. "We... we don't want trouble."

Kakarot, already buzzing with restless energy, ran in small circles. "I'm Kakarot!" he yelled, laughing before colliding with a tree. "What's... everyone's name?" His smile was wide, but his eyes darted, scanning the group like he expected danger at any second.

Daniel appeared translucent for a moment, flickering as if the sunlight didn't entirely touch him. "Daniel Fenton," he said softly, voice barely above a whisper. "I... I'm just here." His eyes darted nervously, but he stayed close to the edges of the group.

Lucy's gentle laugh broke some tension. "I'm Lucy Heartfilia," she said brightly, though her eyes betrayed a lifetime of careful observation. She tugged her twin brothers forward. "And these are my brothers, Makia and Oria. Nice to meet you."

Gon hesitated, sensing the subtle undercurrents in the group. "I'm... Gon Freecss," he said quietly, tilting his head. "I... I like to watch and see how people act first." He smiled faintly, but it didn't reach the edges of his wary gaze.

Gozu, standing slightly apart, folded his arms. "Gozu Toshiaki," he said, voice low and measured. "I watch first. I act second. I suggest you do the same." His eyes flicked from one child to another, cataloguing every movement, every microexpression.

Inuyasha's amber eyes scanned the group, and his voice was rough from tension. "I'm Inuyasha. This is Sesshomaru." The taller, calmer boy beside him inclined his head slightly, expression neutral. "We don't seek conflict. But we don't run from it either."

Izuku pressed against Aizawa's side, almost hiding. "I... I'm Izuku Midoriya," he said, voice small. "I... I don't... I'm not... bad." His hands fidgeted, and he peeked out from behind the tall guardian figure.

Ashura tugged at his father's sleeve before stepping forward. "I'm Ashura Ketchum," he said softly, gaze flicking between the children. "My family... we just... we're... careful. We don't... we just... survive."

Yugi approached cautiously, holding the hem of his grandfather's coat. "Yugi Mutou," he said, eyes bright but wary. "I... like puzzles. And... I like learning about people."

Olgilvie, the youngest of the exiled royal triplets, smiled faintly. "Olgilvie Hedgehog," he said. "I... I don't want to fight. I want to... figure out what's going on."

For a moment, the children simply stared at one another, sizing up shapes, shadows, scents, and energy. Each noticed something faint, imperceptible: the pulsing hum of instinct, the flicker of Alpha/Omega awareness, a subtle resonance of power in the air.

"It feels... weird," Tanjiro said softly, stepping closer to Ciel. "Like... we're supposed to be here. Together."

Lucy nodded slowly. "I felt it too... like I know some of you already."

Kakarot bounced on the balls of his feet. "Yeah! Something's... weird, but exciting! We should... we should play!"

"Play?" Daniel's voice trembled, though curiosity flickered in his eyes.

"Yes! We can run, or... or explore the park!" Gon suggested, his tail of curiosity wagging like a flag.

The group slowly started to move together, first in small circles, then toward a low hill where sunlight pooled in golden warmth. Conversation bubbled, tentative yet persistent, as they shared stories of pets, homes, and favorite things, each disclosure carefully measured, revealing pieces of trauma hidden beneath innocence.

Ciel's voice finally softened. "I... I lost my parents," he admitted, almost a whisper. "I was... sold... but I survived."

Ichigo's expression hardened, his fists tightening. "I ran from my dad," he said, tone bitter. "He... hurt my family. I... I had to fight to keep my sisters alive, but they turned on us."

Tanjiro nodded slowly. "Our family... we survived a massacre. Not everyone... made it."

Kakarot's gaze darkened, energy crackling faintly. "I... watched my planet burn. I ran with my parents. I... I survived."

Daniel's voice was barely audible. "I... I'm... half-dead. My family... wanted me gone."

Lucy's fingers clenched at her dress. "My dad... hurt us. My mom... she left to save us. We survived, but..." She trailed off, eyes watery.

Gon's small fists clenched. "I... I was left... hurt. My dad... he's awesome."

Gozu's low voice cut through the chatter. "We all survived something. We're... survivors."

Inuyasha's amber eyes softened for a fraction. "Then we... we understand one another. That's... enough."

Izuku barely whispered. "I... I lost my mom. My dad... he... I... I don't want to talk about it."

Ashura blinked rapidly. "Our family... we just... we survive. That's all."

Yugi's hand trembled slightly. "I... my dad... tried to kill us. We... survived."

Olgilvie's small voice joined softly. "We... all survived. Together... maybe... we can be stronger."

By the time the sun dipped below the trees, the children were no longer strangers. Names, smiles, and first faint threads of trust had woven them together, the resonance of their powers pulsing softly beneath skin and consciousness.

The group vacation was organized as a precautionary measure, but for the children, it felt like a chance at freedom. They explored the seaside town, laughing despite the shadows of their pasts. It was here that their fated lovers first appeared:

Sebastian approached Ciel, bowing slightly, voice smooth and deliberate. "I've been assigned to watch over you. But... I feel like I already know you."

Byakuya stood silently near Ichigo, the subtle shift of his perfume and posture commanding attention. "Do not worry," he said simply. "I will keep you safe."

Vegeta, cocky and brash, barreled into Kakarot, smirking. "You're... mine. Don't even think about running."

Rengoku's fiery smile met Tanjiro's cautious one. "I'll protect you," he said, warmth behind his words.

And so it went, introductions made through conversation, gestures, and instinctual recognition. Only Inuyasha and Sesshomaru remained untouched, already bonded, their presence radiating calm dominance.

The night air smelled of salt and lanterns as the group of fourteen children gathered in the town square, their guardians trailing behind at a cautious distance. They were restless, senses heightened, feeling things they couldn't yet name. Kakarot's energy hummed like a barely restrained storm, and it didn't go unnoticed.

From the shadows, a man in a crisp black suit stepped forward, clipboard in hand, exuding a calm authority that silenced even the most restless. "Children," he began, voice smooth but carrying weight, "you are not like others. Each of you... carries something extraordinary."

Ciel's eyes narrowed immediately, instinct bristling. "Who are you?" he asked, tone sharp. "Why are you watching us?"

"I am the commissioner," the man said, bowing slightly. "My role is to... protect you. To monitor and guide those with powers the world isn't ready to understand." He paused, letting the words settle. "Including Kakarot's... energy, which, if left unchecked, could be catastrophic."

Kakarot stepped forward, fists clenching. "You mean I'm dangerous?" he asked, voice a mix of indignation and fear. "I can control it!"

The commissioner's gaze softened. "I know you can. But power, unchecked, attracts attention. It draws fear, sometimes destruction. That is why... we've prepared something for you."

A low hum filled the air, and behind the commissioner, the ground seemed to shimmer. A thin veil of energy formed a wall, solidifying into the outline of a city illuminated in golden light. The children gasped, instinctively sensing safety and power intertwined.

"This," the commissioner said, gesturing toward the city, "is yours. A place where you can grow, explore, and learn. It is isolated, quarantined from the rest of Japan, the rest of the world, until you are ready. Here, no one can harm you—or misuse your abilities."

Lucy stepped forward, eyes wide. "Is... is it safe? Will anyone hurt us here?"

"Not while we are watching," the commissioner replied. "It is a sanctuary, but not a prison. You are free to move within it, to train, to learn, to be yourselves. But do not underestimate the responsibility of what you carry."

Daniel's half-ghost form flickered nervously. "I... I don't... I'm not used to being... safe."

"Then learn," the commissioner said, voice firm but patient. "For all of you, this is an opportunity. An opportunity to survive—and to thrive."

Gon tilted his head, curiosity bright in his eyes. "Do we... get to live here? All of us?"

"Yes," the commissioner confirmed. "As long as you respect each other, respect the rules, and respect yourselves." He looked at Kakarot with an unreadable expression. "Especially you. Your power will define much of what happens here. Use it wisely."

Kakarot swallowed hard, a mix of pride and fear warring inside him. He glanced at the others, feeling the faint threads of connection that had been forming over the past year. They were fractured, but together, he thought, they might be strong enough to survive whatever came next.

Ciel stepped closer, voice soft but resolute. "And... we'll be together? All of us?"

The commissioner nodded. "Together. That is part of what makes you extraordinary. You were never meant to meet by chance. Fate brought you here, and the city will nurture that bond."

By the time the fourteen reached thirteen, the world had shifted again. Bodies changed, instincts stirred, and latent powers pulsed beneath skin and bone. It began subtly: fleeting heat waves, restlessness, a scent that carried unspoken urgency.

Kakarot noticed it first, a sudden, aching pull toward Vegeta. "I... I can't... I don't know why..." he whispered, fists trembling. His usual energy was raw, urgent, and demanding.

Vegeta smirked, predatory but careful. "You know why," he said simply, the smirk softening into something gentler. "This... we're bonded. You can't fight it."

Lucy fidgeted with the hem of her shirt, her twin brothers standing nearby but unaware.

Natsu's hand brushed hers, casual at first, then lingering. "It's okay," he said softly, tone steady. "You don't have to be afraid. We... we take care of each other."

Daniel's ghostly aura shimmered, faint tremors running through him as Elias approached. "It's... okay, Daniel. We've... always known, haven't we?"

"Always," Daniel whispered, a shiver of instinct racing through him. "I... I don't know what's happening."

"It's normal," Elias said, resting a hand on his shoulder. "We'll handle it... together."

Gon and Killua exchanged a glance. Killua's eyes softened. "It's happening," he said. "But... we're responsible. You're safe with me."

Gon's green eyes shimmered, a mixture of fear, curiosity, and instinctual longing. "Okay. Together."

Sebastian moved toward Ciel, voice low. "I'll keep you grounded. Trust me."

Ciel's lips parted, breath catching. "I... I trust you."

Byakuya placed a hand gently on Ichigo's shoulder. "Control your fear. Your instincts are natural, but you are safe. With me." Ichigo nodded, jaw tightening as his body betrayed his mind with sudden surges of heat and protectiveness.

Izuku clutched Katsuki's sleeve, eyes wide and anxious. "I... I don't... I... I'm scared."

Katsuki knelt, voice calm. "It's okay. I'm here. You're safe. Always."

Ashura and Paul mirrored the same silent understanding. "I... I feel it," Ashura whispered.

Paul's hand brushed his own, firm, grounding. "Then we deal with it. Together. Always."

Yugi and Atem sat near the edge of the training grounds, hands brushing as instinct pressed them together. "I... feel it too," Yugi admitted. "I don't know what to do."

Atem's hand closed over his. "You're not alone. We will handle it."

Olgilvie observed quietly, noting the changes, the warmth pulsing through his own body. He looked to Shadow, who had appeared silently beside him. "I... I think I understand," he murmured.

Shadow nodded, eyes soft, exhaling slowly. "We will manage it... together."

All the couples mated that night...But forgot one important thing.

The first morning it happened, the world smelled different, sharper, and heavier. Ciel woke with a pounding head, a dull nausea curling through him. He had learned over the months to recognize the subtle signs—heat cycles, ruts, instincts—but this was something new. Something deeper. He stumbled into the training room where Sebastian was adjusting his coat. "Sebastian... something's... wrong," he whispered, voice shaking. His hand clenched instinctively at his stomach. Sebastian's amber eyes narrowed immediately, the protective Alpha instincts flaring.

"Show me," he said, voice low, calm, but with undeniable authority. He guided Ciel to a private corner, hands gentle but firm. "It's alright. Speak to me. You're safe."

Ciel's words tumbled out in a rush, fear and awe lacing them. "I... I think I'm... pregnant." The confession hung in the air, heavy with meaning. Sebastian's lips pressed together, then softened. "Then you are," he murmured. "We will handle this. Together. Always."

Ichigo had sensed it first as a pull in his chest, a strange weight beneath his ribs. He hadn't wanted to believe it, not after everything, but the signs were undeniable. Byakuya waited patiently as Ichigo finally spoke, voice tight.

"I... something's happening... I don't know what to do." He avoided Byakuya's gaze for a moment, ashamed and scared. Byakuya reached out, brushing a hand over Ichigo's shoulder.

"Then let us do it together. Whatever comes, I will protect you—and this life. You are safe with me."

Kakarot could hardly sit still, the symptoms gnawing at him like fire. He bolted into Vegeta's training room, stomping over as the Alpha's sharp eyes met his.

"Vegeta!" he gasped. "Something's... happening... I feel... I don't know—"

Vegeta's smirk softened into a rare expression of calm. "You're... pregnant," he said, bluntly. Kakarot's jaw dropped, panic flashing in his eyes.

"I... me?!" he stammered.

Vegeta stepped close, hand steadying his trembling mate. "Yes. But it is not the end. It is... responsibility. And I will bear it with you. Nothing else matters."

Tanjiro came quietly to Rengoku, his hands fidgeting as the Omega instinct surged.

"Rengoku..." he whispered. "Something's... happening with me. I'm... pregnant."

Rengoku's golden eyes softened instantly, a warm, protective aura surrounding him. "Tanjiro, look at me," he said, placing both hands on Tanjiro's shoulders. "This is not a punishment. You are safe. I will care for you. For us. For this child. Together."

Lucy and Natsu had been laughing, sharing a quiet moment, when a sudden wave of nausea struck her. She staggered, clutching her stomach.

"Natsu..." she murmured, voice small and unsure. "I think... I'm pregnant."

Natsu caught her, eyes wide but steady. "Lucy... then we will protect it. Together, we face this. Nothing will harm you, nothing will harm them."

Danny felt it most acutely when his half-ghost form flickered unusually. His chest tightened, and he knew. Elias appeared in an instant, hand extended.

"Danny?" Elias asked, voice low but commanding.

"I... Elias... I'm pregnant," Danny whispered. Fear, vulnerability, and instinct tangled in his tone. Elias cupped his face gently. "Then it is ours to protect. Always. Together, we will navigate this."

Gon, ever cautious, had sensed the change first in small twinges, subtle and undeniable. Killua noticed immediately.

"Gon..." Killua asked, voice measured, observing every microreaction.

"I... I think... I'm pregnant," Gon said, words trembling. Killua's hand rested on his shoulder. "Then it's ours. You're safe with me. We handle this. Together."

Izuku had been hiding in the training room, alone, trying to process the overwhelming surge of instincts when Katsuki stormed in, eyes blazing with concern.

"Izuku! What's wrong?!" he demanded.

"I... Kacchan... I... I'm pregnant," Izuku said, voice cracking, tears welling. Katsuki's expression softened for the first time in years, instincts flaring as his Alpha bond pulsed.

"You're mine," he said firmly. "And we'll get through this. I've got you. Always."

Ashura and Paul, Yugi and Atem, Sonic and Shadow—each followed the same pattern: quiet recognition, hesitant confession, and immediate comfort and protection from their Alphas. The pattern was clear: instinct first, safety second, guidance from the Alpha, and emotional reassurance.

The revelation to the parents was inevitable. A week later, alarms sounded in the hidden city: subtle indicators, a scent trail, changes in the Omegas' physiology. One by one, the guardians entered the central hall, faces a mixture of fear, awe, and parental concern.

Lucy's mother stepped forward first. "Lucy... Natsu told me?" Her voice trembled slightly, a mix of anger and relief.

Lucy's gaze dropped. "Yes... I'm... pregnant."

Natsu remained behind her, strong and calm. "We will take care of them. Together."

Ciel's guardians—Sebastian's oversight and Ciel's adoptive family—received the news quietly but firmly. "Ciel," said Sebastian, voice low, "you are safe. We will handle this together. The family knows now. They support us."

Izuku's Father, Shota, faced Katsuki directly. Katsuki's sharp eyes met his. "He's mine," he said bluntly. "And we'll take care of them. You need not fear."

Shota nodded, adding gravitas to his authority. "Responsibility is ours. We will protect him."

The commissioner remained a silent observer throughout, noting reactions, taking mental notes. "They are learning responsibility," he said quietly. "Instinct drove them, yes, but consent and protection—under guidance—define what comes next."

As the day ended, the Omegas settled into quiet reflection, hearts racing, instincts sated, but minds already calculating the weight of what lay ahead. Their Alphas remained close, protective, guiding, and reassuring, a constant presence.

The parents, though concerned, recognized the maturity, responsibility, and bonds that had formed. There were lectures, gentle scoldings, and insistence on communication, but the message was clear: the children were no longer just surviving—they were learning to navigate the tangled web of instinct, consequence, and family responsibility together.

The hidden city, still glowing under the sunset, hummed quietly, a sanctuary for those bound by fate, instinct, and the promise of fractured souls learning to shine.
