"Master Wu, I don't think you should be encouraging us to resort to violence." Jay said nervously as the headmaster strode in front of them.
Though Jay loved the old man and found his therapy lessons to be quite helpful they were also very concerning a lot of the time. This lesson wasn't any different.
"I am not encouraging you to resort to violence, simply demonstrating a few martial arts moves." The sensei said.
"I think this is going to be awesome." Kai chirped, a wild grin on his face. "Are we going to be doing this often?"
A bamboo staff bopped him in the head. "Learning these techniques come with respect and responsibility, Kai." Master Wu scolded.
Kai rubbed his head, but whispered to Nya. "We are definitely going to be doing this a lot."
She rolled her eyes and pushed him over.
"A good spinzjitzu master knows how to fight, defend, and protect." Wu explained, moving lithely into a series of kicks, punches, and other moves. "As well as knowing when to show restraint, mercy, and kindness." Slowly the actions became less about punching, blocking, and attacking but instead moving fluently with the air, avoiding blows, and letting it become more like a dance.
Cole chewed on his lip. "I don't know about this Master Wu... I'm not exactly coordinated when it comes to stuff like this."
"All I ask is that you try your best, Cole." Master Wu smiled at him, his eyes holding a hidden meaning. "I could never want anything more from you."
Cole felt a swell in his chest but he simply nodded curtly in reply. Dressed in their traditional gi's, the students all lined up outside, letting their bare feet sink into the earth.
"You recall our nature walk when you first came here?" Master Wu said. They all nodded. "Being one with the world is very important in spinjitzu, and in life in general, drawing energy from it naturally is how you find a special part of you can't find in the normal world."
Cole glanced at Jay questioningly, unsure what he was going on about. Jay looked confused as well, turning to Kai who wasn't really paying attention and instead was gazing into the small pond near them to look at his hair.
"Now lets go through a few moves." Master Wu demonstrated first, his feet dig into the ground, boy rotating as he moved his hands into a strike. The students tried to follow and Master Wu walked between them, correcting their form, praising them, or making odd comments.
"You look like a monkey Cole, you need to become a monkey." Master Wu tsked as he watched the boy shuffle through.
Wu watched Nya for awhile. She went through the steps carefully, copying him exactly. She paused and gave him a proud smile. Wu looked to her, raising an eyebrow."You must carve your own path. You're form is good but you need to stop focusing on becoming flawless and embrace imperfection."
"Kai, stop looking at your reflection. No one masters anything if their too focused on how they look." Wu scowled at the boy. Giving him a nudge that almost sent him flying into the pond. He thought about his previous words for a moment. "Unless your a makeup artist."
Master Wu nodded with satisfaction as Zane exceeded perfectly, making Nya's jaw clench as she tried her hardest to do better than the angel child. The man walked up to Jay who was struggling into position. Wu simply closing his eyes for a brief moment, sighing and then turning around.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Jay shrieked.
No answer.
"Master Wu?"

"The best way to spread the word is through social media." Kai said confidently.
Jay scrunched his brow at the boy. "You have social media?"
"Heck yeah, I do."
Nya rolled his eyes. "Don't ever follow him, seriously. He has a whole stupid fan base of girls there. They think he's hot."
"Excuse me! They know I'm hot." Kai corrected, leaning back and smirking.
Cole gagged, pretending to choke on his sandwich. Kai gave him a not-so-nice hand gesture in retort.
"Kai's suggestion is not factually incorrect. Most people use social media to advertise and create good messages to improve society." Zane offered. "There is even a whole cite on why going vegan is good for the environment."
"Don't even think about it, Zane!" Cole exclaimed. "I am physically incapable of swearing off eggs and milk. Those are the ingredients in cake!"
"For a fit guy you certainly eat a lot." Kai muttered, nibbling at his lunch. Cole scowled and kicked him. "HEY!"
Nya tapped her fork against her glass absently as she thought. "We need to start going public, maybe even global." She said at last. "I just looked at the news... the stuff they're saying- it's not good." Nya slid the newspaper toward them.
"Where'd you get this?" Kai questioned curiously as he picked it up, flipping to the article.
"Mistaké gave it to me." Nya turned back to her meal.
Cole raised an eyebrow. "Really? She just gave that to you?"
Nya rolled her eyes. "Okay, I took it. But it doesn't matter. We need to focus more on what they are saying." She snatched it from her brother who was reading it at a crazily slow pace.
"Violent kid from Master Wu's school attacks innocent bystander? Teenager goes crazy by shoe store?" Nya read aloud. "These reporters haven't been able to get the real story. We need to force them to see our view."
"So, what are you suggesting?" Jay murmured quietly, glancing over her shoulder. He could feel her breath on his cheek, making him suddenly realize how close they were. The boy quickly sat back down, clearing his throat awkwardly.
"It's like you said." Nya set down the paper. "We need to make this into something big."
Zane tilted his head. "You want us to become a activism group?"
Nya shrugged. "Why not? Our message covers so many grounds. Ninjago needs more people speaking up."
Kai grinned at his little sister. "This isn't a bad idea, I'm impressed."
Nya stuck her tongue out at him. "You don't need to sound so surprised."
Cole gulped down the last of his food. "How do you think we're going to get these ears? It's not like we can phone up the news and say 'Hey! We aren't crazy and we want to prove it!'"
"Celebrity endorsement? I'm sure Zane's new friend-that's-a-girl could help us get Borg on Borg." Kai's face scrunched up. "I mean board. Borg on board." He corrected.
Zane flushed, his eyes suddenly adverting to his water glass as he drank from it. "I suppose I could... talk to her."
They all exchanged amused smiles. Jay suddenly noticed Cole wasn't listening any more. His eyes on his phone, lips pressed in a firm line as if he was contemplating something. "You okay, Cole?"
Cole jumped, shoving the device away. "Yeah, I'm great!"
Before Jay could press more Master Wu entered, the headmaster looked tired as he grabbed the teapot and poured himself a cup of tea. He downed the glass in one gulp and then poured another one.
There was an awkward silence as his students just stared at him.
"Are you good there Master Wu?" Kai asked hesitantly.
"I just have a lot on my mind." Master Wu said carefully, his eyes gazing into the steam coming from his cup.
They nodded understandingly and began to stand up. Jay and Nya took the dishes and Zane and Cole both stepped away, moving out the door quietly. Kai was starting to get up but Master Wu reached out a hand to stop him before he could leave.
"Tell me," the headmaster said quietly. "If you were lost...would you want to be found by anyone? Even if they were the person who allowed you to lose your way in the first place?"
Kai blinked. Confusion etching his face as he tried to work out what Wu was saying. "I think..." Kai began slowly. "I think I'd want a map to show me what roads I could take. Then it would be up to me to see which path I want to go down."
Master Wu was silent for a moment before he retracted his arms and gave Kai a smile. "Thank you, I have a lot to think about."
Kai turned to walk away, glancing back at the somber expression of his teacher before turning around the corner.

The crescent moon flowed overhead, like a spotlight on a stage, lighting the streets with its cool glow. A dark figure darted around, stopping at the huge wall in the middle of the park. The place was empty, even all the buildings that revolves around it seemed vacant as the single person standing there looked up at it.
There was a small thump as the backpack hit the ground, a hand reached in and took out the canister. With a shake, the boy looked up and observed his canvas. His hood falling off his head, allowing his mussed blonde hair to be bathed in the lunar light.
"One last time." Lloyd whispered, his arm stretching up. His finger pressed the nozzle and paint emitted from it. He dragged it down, making the outline of the letters. Then he went in again, piece by piece the picture formed. By the time the sun was rising over the hill tops the teenager stood back to admire his work.
Wiping the paint off his cheek with a sleeve he dropped the cans into his backpack and darted away before the early risers could catch sight of him.
A few hours later people gathered around the wall, tilting their heads as they made out the three huge green letters.
