Pendulum

Just wanted to let you guys know two things. One - I have changed my username to LauraLollie because I disliked my other one. Two - If you have any ideas for my book that you might want to incorporate, please let me know and I'll see if I can put them in. Anyway, onto the chapter. Byee! *Clap**Clap*

I squealed with excitement, a feeling traveling down my bones that I had never felt before. It was really happening, actually... happening. I jumped from my seat and tackled Ben in a hug, both of us landing on the bed behind him.

"Congrats kid," he said, patting my back.

All I could do was squeal, I was absolutely speechless. I got up from the bed, releasing Ben and began to dance around my room, with very questionable dance moves. I even shrilled just like Katherine in 'Watch What Happens' multiple times, I have never felt so elated in my life.

The door clicked open, ceasing my dancing, to reveal Lizzy on the other side of the door. "I'm guessing you told her." She laughed slightly, grabbing my hands and joining in my dancing.

Soon enough all three of us were dancing around my cramped room, before spreading out and having a dance party in the living room. Our neighbors really love us as you can tell. Just like the myriads of other dance parties Broadway tunes were played, with us accompanying the vocals with our 'fabulous' ones.

Spending time with Ben and Lizzy was some of the best memories I have with them. Especially when I was just told I would be on Broadway, but it something about dancing around the apartment that really got me smiling. If you told me a few years ago that I would be dancing aorund the living room in New York with my adoptive parents - on track to Broadway, I most certainly wouldn't have believed you. But now, now I excited to see what is going to happen in the next few years. Fingers crossed that it's a good few years.

-.x.-

You could say I hugged Will the next day, but that would be an understatement. I tackled him. We were lying on the floor laughing until our stomachs ached, rolling around like a pendulum back and forth.

"Are you going to tell me why you tackled me? And why are we laughing so much?" Will asked sitting up.

"I was a laughing at your face when I tackled you." I raised an eyebrow skeptically, "Why were you laughing?" Will turned red with embarrassment looking down at the floor mumbling something. "What was that?"

"I was laughing at my laugh." I practically sprayed him with my spit, laughing my head off.

"That's why I love you," I sighed.

It was my turn to turn red. Sure we'd kissed on occasion, often hold hands, and we have told our friends and family that we were something to which we got teased a lot, but we'd never actually said those words. Most people would have told me that I was too young to know what love was, but they don't know the half of it. I have lived my whole life until the tour not truly knowing what love was but now a feeling had filled my body and I know what it is. It is love. Meant for Will. And I meant what I told him. I'll stick by it. I love Will.

He smiled at me, his white teeth somehow glowing. "I love you too."

I bit my lip, blushing like crazy. Not only had he just returned my feelings, but the hallway was now filling with students ready to start the school day - and we were still sprawled on the floor. It was a rather unromantic place to say them for the first time, but it still felt right. We were in our usual strange environment, laughing like the weirdo's we were but that was okay as long as I was with him.

Will stood up, extended a hand which I accepted and hauled me up. "Thanks."

He nodded, then proceeded to grab my hand in his own, squeezing it slightly. We sauntered down the hallway, observing life at school. The small first years scuttling down the corridor with their bags that were far too big for them, some of our fellow third years who were just like Will and me, and some second years running and doing their homework simultaneously. I couldn't help but laugh at them.

I never really experienced second year here, nor did Will. We were both on tour at the time, traveling up and down the country together - living life at it's best.

I was sitting backstage next to my new friend Will- he was Les whilst I was recovering. We were doing some maths and let's just say I had absolutely no clue what any of it meant. Maths wasn't really my strong point. I was about to lean over to ask Will a question when he looked at me and put a finger to his lips before pointing to the other side of the stage in the wings.
And there I be, Ben and Lizzy we're sitting watching rehearsal. They looked over at each other and then smiled at each other. Josh had told me he had done something- and I guess he got them to realize that they liked each other. About time, they had both been flirting with each other for weeks!
The actors on stage finished Bottom line and Jeff C called a break. I closed my laptop as I had, had enough of school for today, besides I'd finished my time slots.
I grabbed my crutches and with some support from Will I stood up. I walked across the stage toward Ben and Lizzy. Lizzy looked up at me and smiled.

"Why hello hello hello lovebirds," I cooed.

Instantaneously they both blushed the exact same of pink, "Is it that obvious?" They asked simultaneously, then looked at each other and giggled.

"Lizzy your all over him and Ben even Crutchie can't smile as wide as you do when you are with Lizzy," I laughed

"I have to make sure he is okay / she is just too pretty," they both said simultaneously again.

I just rolled my eyes. "Just no PDA please, and keep the coupleness down, I can feel it from the other side of the stage!"

"Damn right," Will chimes in, now standing next to me, "Grace we have vocal work with our tutor."

He picked up my bag and we made our way to the foyer of the theatre and stood by the piano that our tutor was sat by. We decided to sing Once and For All, because W both struggle to sing lower than our natural voices, which we have to do to sound right with the older boys.

I couldn't help but smile as the memory flashed through my mind. Will had instantaneously become my best friend on tour but even then I could tell there was a small spark that hadn't quite been lit yet. But that spark was lit not a few months later and now it still burns bright, shining above all evil.

Remembering how cute Ben and Lizzy were was something I won't forget. They shut there more 'private' side of things away on the other side of there bedroom door, but sometimes it leaked and more often than not Josh would be covering both our eyes, claiming there were children in the room.

I obviously wasn't paying attention, because I smashed head first into something, bring Will down with me. "I am so sorry!" I blurted out, meaning it for Will but then I noticed that I had in fact smashed face first into a person.

"No worries," they replied, brushing themselves off. We all stood up, and she extended her hand. "I'm Diana."

(@macavity22)

"Nice to meet you, I'm guessing you're new."

"Yeah, I was just adopted so I moved," she said sheepishly, rubbing her hand along her notebook in her hand.

"I'm adopted too," I beamed, "Nothing to be ashamed of." I smiled at her, not wanting her to feel overwhealmed. I had a friend on my first day here, and I wanted to pass it on.

"I'm Will, this is Grace," Will chimed in, pointing at us. He then proceeded to grab her timetable, taking a few minutes to take it in. "Looks like you're in the same classes as us!"

"Do you want to hang out with us, what we're saying is we'll help you, Diana."

"Did you just quote Mean Girls?"

Will began to jump up and down, "Oh my gosh she likes Broadway! She is so going to be part of the B-squad!"

"B- squad?" she questioned, cocking her head to the side slightly in confusion.

"Broadway squad, we're all connected to it somehow."

"Oh cool."

"Oh my god!" I suddenly exclaimed getting their attention.

"What? What? What?" Will asked nervously.

"I- I forgot to tell you."

"Well tell me then!" he erupted.

"I got into Fireflies." I practically whispered it. I wasn't supposed to tell anyone but who was I to not tell my boyfriend who can't keep his mouth shut half the time and the girl who I only met a few minutes ago.

Will began squealing just as I had last night, whilst also mirroring my questionable moves. Now I know where I got them from. "I'm so proud!" He kissed my cheek, causing me to blush lots - all whilst a camera flashed.

"Sorry," Diana apologized, "I like to take pictures and that was too cute to miss. But did you say Fireflies, as in the musical going to Broadway."

"Yeah, I did. Why?"

"My adoptive dad just got cast the other day."

"Who is your dad, maybe I'll recognize him from the cast list."

"Sky Flaherty."

That's what he was hiding. He adopted a daughter.
