Chapter 8

Marinette's POV

It was night time when we finished the deliveries, especially since we need to take breaks from pedalling and stuff. Right now, my friends are in my room talking and eating some éclairs.

As for me, I'm eating some Chou crème since I already had some éclairs during the delivery.

"So they're planning to cancel the founding anniversary?" I heard Adrien ask and I myself got curious. Thinking that the school could've used this events to lift up the students' worries from the previous events.

"Yeah, they could have used the events to help us students recover from the shock." Alya said as she echoed my thoughts.

"Well, I heard a faculty member say that too....." Nino said and trailed of at the end.

"Let me guess, what Chloe wants, Chloe gets?" I muttered as I chewed on another puff.

"Yeah.....sort of." Nino muttered, well that is expected. Chloe practically has the whole school faculty under her control.

"What should we do now?" Alya asked since we didn't have any plans for the next days except for doing the project.

"Well, I don't know about you guys but I have a contest to enter." I muttered as I finished the last of my puffs filled with chocolate and custard.

"Contest?" I heard Adrien ask as he munched on another éclair.

"I Uhh..no, I mean. Uh- yeah, sort off?" There goes me again. Good God Marinette, if you don't stop soon senpai will hate you!
And there goes me scolding myself again....

"Cool, which one?" He asked again, curious I guess?

"Uhh....the one? I mean- Elysées Champs over in- I mean! The one h-held near Champs Elysées. Ehehe....." I replied, geez we were talking quite fine during the project why not now?

"Ah, that one! You know-" Adrien started talking but a loud crash was heard, well not a crash more likely the sound of thunder.

I looked out of the window and saw rain. It just started yet it's so strong already.

"Aww not cool dude. Not cool." Nino muttered as its Adrien's fault.

"Hey! I didn't do anything." Adrien countered.

"Boys." Alya muttered as she just shook her head. Then her phone rang, it was her mom.

"Hey mom. What's up?" Alya said, I barely understood what her mother is saying but I think it's along the line of 'dark clouds, obviously.'

"Mom! Seriously what?" Alya asked laughing a bit.
Then Alya was quiet, her mom is probably talking.

"Ok mom, I'll ask Mari." Alya said and looked at me.

"Hey Uhh, can I sleep over Marinette?" Alya asked mentioning towards the dark sky and rain.

"Yeah, sure. I guess?" I replied not knowing if there's enough room for both of us.

"Thanks girl! Well mom, you heard her." Alya said as she hung up after a few seconds.

"

No Nino, strike VI is better than strike VII." Adrien said, I don't even know how the talk about thunder went to video games.

"No dude, Strike VII is the best!" Nino countered.

"No boys, Strike IV is." I said since I know for sure the graphics and stuff is really better. The new versions just added some new stages but it's really not that great and creative in my perspective.

"What? Oh come on!"

And that went on till Mama called us for dinner.

"I better get going. See you dudes!" Nino said as he received a text.

"Why don't you stay for dinner?" Mama asked and Nino just politely declined the offer and head towards the door.

"How about you Adrien? Why don't you stay for dinner?" Mama asked as Alya went to the kitchen to help papa prepare stuff.

'Why don't you stay forever?' Is what's probably in My mind. [Sorry, I had to 😂]

"Uhh, sure. I'm on break after all." Adrien stated as my mama showed the way to the kitchen where the dining room is also found.

"Mmm! Smells good, whats cookin?" I asked as I sniffed out a familiar scent of.....

"Blueberry muffins and cheese fondue!" Papa exclaimed, I love those two things together as a child, even till now.

It was simply the best.

Dinner was, quiet. Really. Though Tikki left my pouch midway. I saw her with a black kind of thingy.

After that Adrien bid us goodbye and my family and Alya looked at me teasingly. Ugh, when will this end?

Adrien's POV

Marinette's family was cool, really welcoming even after an incident. I wish my father was like them.

I walked towards my room with each step leaving a soft sound. Nathalie just left with father yesterday to go to New York. Her vacation got cut off I suppose.

Once I reached my room, expecting Plagg to fly out of my jacket and ask for cheese I opened a Camembert roll for him.

He wasn't here. I figured that much when I checker my jacket. Maybe he left when I was waiting dinner with Mari's family and Alya, who knows? He is a cat, but without him I wouldn't be able to transform to Chat Noir, and I need to patrol with Ladybug soon.

Hurry up Plagg I wanna see M'Lady as soon as possible!

I got a bit impatient and went out of the mansion after a few minutes of waiting. I headed towards the Eiffel Tower on foot, I need to see M'Lady at the least. But instead of seeing a ladybug figure on the very top, Marinette was there. Well not on the top just here on the ground.

I wonder what she's doing here, she looked like she's waiting for someone, but now? Late at night?
Who would be up at this time of night? Except me and Ladybug of course and some of the people who work at night or overtime, but that's besides the point.

She hasn't noticed my presence yet....I'm getting bored, I should start a conversation with her.
