Chapter Fourteen | Those Who Did Not Deserve Death

Entrance to the Underworld

"You guys had better hurry," Emma warned as Regina and Zelena boarded the boat. "My parents won't fall for this too much longer. Get Robin and get out of there. And remember to tell Hades exactly what I said."

Regina nodded. "I know, I know. We'll be back as soon as we can, but it will be a double journey this time since I can't use magic to transport us from the Throne Room."

"Good thing the ferryman likes me as much as Hades does," Zelena smirked.

Emma waved the two off as the ferry drifted away. She then turned back to Gold. "You can go back to Belle and Evelyn now."

Gold rolled his eyes. "Next time, ask Maleficent to donate blood to your cause. I think my daughter would appreciate it if I had the right amount of blood."

"Which one?" Emma joked.

In response, Gold vanished. Emma scoffed, "Rude."

The Fields of Punishment

"Just wave the scythe at them threateningly," Regina instructed her half-sister. "The thing is huge, it should scare them away."

Zelena groaned. "We should have brought Emma with us."

"Her magic doesn't even work down here."

"Yes, but she only has one soul at the moment, if you know what I mean."

"I am going to slap you."

"Please do. It would be much less painful than being down here with only you for company."

Regina rolled her eyes. "I thought you had changed."

"Regina, we're sisters, we're still going to fight."

Regina didn't reply.

Once the two made it to the Labyrinth, Regina began to get nervous. "What if using magic to get us to the Throne Room hurts the baby?"

"One little tour guide isn't going to hurt. I burnt an antidote and then transported both Arthur and myself the other day."

Regina focused on the Throne Room and slowly but surely, a glowing light appeared and began to float down the hallway.

The Throne Room

Robin, Neal, and Dorothy were having a quiet conversation when Regina and Zelena burst into the Throne Room. Zelena was holding the scythe from Tartarus and Robin was instantly on guard. "Regina!" he called out.

When Regina heard her soulmate's voice, her head snapped over to look at him. "Robin! Don't worry, Zelena's got the scythe for a reason."

The witch waved at Robin. "Your fiancée let me carry this lovely weapon. Isn't that nice?"

"WHAT ARE YOU TWO--?!" Hades began, but when he saw the scythe in Zelena's hand, he stopped. "Hello."

"Let them go," Regina ordered. "All three of them. We know why you have them trapped here and we also know it's because you don't have the right to keep them in the Underworld. They are the ones who didn't deserve to die and that's why you can't let them roam freely throughout the Underworld."

"And what makes you think that?"

"Well for starters, Dorothy never died in the first place. She made a sacrifice so Mulan and Ruby could both go back to Storybrooke. Second, Gold was the one who was supposed to die, not Neal, so he was never supposed to be here either. And finally, Robin never actually died. You ripped him away from his family, and we're here to bring all three of your prisoners back home. If you want to put up a fight, Zelena has a scythe ready and we will make sure you suffer the same fate as your father, Kronos, did."

Hades snapped his fingers and all three cells unlocked. Robin ran over to Regina and tackled her with a hug. Regina pulled him into a kiss. "You're here," she whispered.

"Indeed," Robin smiled at her.

"There's one, ah, small issue," Hades said. "Robin doesn't have a soul."

"I don't care." Regina stepped in front of him.

"I can't let him go back to the Overworld without a soul. The same rule applied to Megaera."

"Then I'll make a deal with you," Regina offered. "You made a deal with Meg so she could get her soul back."

"My only offer is a trade for Megaera's soul. Let me have her back and I will return Robin's soul to him."

"Not an option."

Hades shrugged. "Then I guess he stays here with me."

Neal spoke up. "Wait. Aren't you two soulmates?"

Regina nodded. "But what does that have to do with-- oh... Just like what I did with the Charmings," she smiled. "But with a soul instead of a heart."

"Are you sure that won't hurt the baby?" Zelena asked hesitantly.

"I don't know. But I have to try."

Robin turned Regina around so she was facing him. "Regina, you can't put our child at risk for me."

"Robin, don't you get it? I'm doing this for our baby. So it doesn't grow up without you." The Sorceress stepped back from Robin and a glowing white light emerged from both of her hands. Soon, there was white mist swirling around Regina. She ignored the pain as she split her soul into two parts. One reentered Regina while the other floated towards Robin. The half of Regina's soul that was supposed to enter Robin's body seemed to hesitate before giving in and doing the task it had been given. Once it rested in Robin's body, the pain Regina had been feeling flipped off like someone had flipped a switch.

"H-how did you know that would work?" Robin asked once the ritual was complete.

"We're soulmates. Doesn't that mean we basically shared a soul to begin with?" Regina smirked.

"So we're all leaving?" Dorothy asked.

Regina nodded. "All seven of us. Unless Hades wants to pick a fight with the scythe...?"

Hades shook his head.

Regina wrapped her hand around Robin's. "Well then. Let's get back to Storybrooke."

Granny's

Granny's had hosted many parties and celebrations and had even taken a trip to Camelot. But that day was the first time three people who were supposed to be dead walking in side-by-side with Regina and Zelena. Emma was only expecting Regina, Robin, and Zelena to return, so Dorothy and Neal were the surprise guests of the evening.

All conversations went quiet when the door opened and no one was quite sure how to react. Finally, Emma spoke up. "Neal?"

Henry jumped up. "Dad!" After that, there was plenty of hugging and reuniting. Mary Margaret was still mad at Emma, Regina, and Zelena for tricking her, but she couldn't stay too mad since everyone was back in one piece.

"Who's this?" Neal sat down next to Emma, who was holding her baby brother while Mary margaret and david talked to Robin and Regina.

"My brother," Emma looked up at Neal and smiled, "Neal."

"They named him after me?"

Emma nodded. "Yeah. Guess that might get confusing pretty soon since you're back..."

"I could always switch back to Baelfire?" Neal joked.

"Yeah, that way you can be everyone's Bae."

Neal shook his head. "This world amuses me. Who would have thought my name would become a slang term for someone's boyfriend or girlfriend?"

Emma shrugged. "Who knows, next Snow White might be a term for people who are naïve or something. But the good thing is I can say you were my Bae before it was cool."

Robin and Regina were inseparable for the rest of the evening at Granny's, but no one really expected anything less. Robin was shocked at how much Zelena had changed. Especially since she and Meg were actually talking to each other.

Robin put an arm around Regina. "Have you thought about any baby names yet?"

"No. We don't even know if it's going to be a boy or girl."

"How long until we can find out?"

Regina shrugged. "I don't know. What do you want it to be?"

"As long as it's healthy, I don't care."

The Next Day

Emma had agreed to meet Neal for breakfast at Granny's since Roland, Meg, and Henry were back with Regina and Robin. Killian had still been sleeping when she left, so she left a note telling him where she was.

"Hey," Emma greeted as she slid into the booth across from Neal.

"Hi."

"So why am I here?"

"Because I wanted to tell you something without Killian around."

"Should I be worried?"

"No. I'm not going to try to win you back," Neal promised, "but I do want to talk to you alone so I know that you are making the decisions and not him."

Emma nodded. "Fair enough."

Neal took a deep breath and blurted out what he needed to say, "I don't want you having to choose between us."

Emma wasn't sure she had heard Neal correctly. "What?"

"You're happy with Killian," Neal explained, "and I don't want you to throw that away because I'm Henry's dad. So stay with him, alright?"

Emma nodded. "Thank you, Neal. Once you get a more permanent living space than a room at Granny's, you can join the rotation Regina and I have with Henry."

Neal smiled. "Really?"

"You're his dad, I assume he's not going to like us keeping you from him. ...But I don't think Granny's is a good permanent home."

"I can agree with you on that one." Neal laughed.

Emma raised an eyebrow. "So, we're still friends then?"

"Always."
