The first update of the books. Or, well, second update (First update was changing Jim's name and making a note about last names), but first one that felt like it needed to be a Thing. Mostly because I have a couple notes.

1) I was thinking about closing on the 22nd? That should give two weeks (From today), plus an extension if we get there and you need that. Does that work? 

2) I should probably clarify the ages of the canon characters. The story takes place in 2025, so we've got:

The Party – Born in 1971, so they would be 54. 

Jonathan & Nancy – Wiki says they were born in either 1967 or 1968. I used 1967, making them 58. 

Robin – Born in 1968 (Which is partly why I used 1967 for Jonathan and Nancy, so they'd be a year older.) Robin would be 57. 

Steve – Wiki says he would have to have been born between August 1966 and July 1967. So he's either 58 or 59 – I admit I haven't decided when during the summer the story takes place, just that is during the summer (So anyone in college would be on break.) 

Holly – Was born either 1980 or late 1979. I think I originally went with 1979 when I wrote Jim's from, but I'm changing it to 1980 so she can be born earlier in the year. She's 46 either way. 

Erica – Born in 1975, making her 50. 

Hopper & Joyce – Would be 84 or 85, since they were born in either 1941 or 1942. I admit I didn't realize the wiki actually had their birth years narrowed down that much, I didn't do the math until I decided to check right now. 

Karen – According to the wiki she was born between 1944 and 1946, making her 81 to 79. 

Ted – Unlike Karen, the wiki gives him the exact birth year of 1938. This makes him 87. 

I'd do the other parents, incase you like...idk what to know the character's grandparents' ages, but they don't have birth years. Also I know most of these don't account for when characters are born in the year, but to be honest the exact age doesn't matter. It just gives you an idea. 

Also! A note because I've already confused someone with this (Sorry), I consider any hypothetical Jason children to be Hawkins characters not canon related character. Like obvious they are related to a canon character and he does know some stuff, but not at all to the extent of the others. He just saw some supernatural stuff he can't explain. But unlike the others he never told his kids and played into the cover up story (Which, tbh, I don't blame him. It's not like he knew what was going on and he got to be a hero.) I imagine he's a little uncomfortable with the lie and carries some trauma from what happened, but he never actively shows it and at most his kids only suspect something (Assuming they don't just ignore it, which would be so much easier for them.) 

Another minor note: I would appreciate some more Hawkins characters. This is NOT to say anyone who has already started canon related characters should stop – I've literally only gotten three forms finished, it's a little early for that – I'm just making a note for people haven't started ideas yet (Or who are looking for another idea.) Looks like canon related characters are popular (Which is fair, because that's exactly what I would do) but I also need some characters with connections in Hawkins. Makes a lot of stuff smoother.

I officially put the due date at July 22nd. I know I already updated that on the main part, but I'm making an announcement here (And also probably my actual announcement page) because one 1) I want something that is easy to see (Which a small change in a long chapter you probably already read is not) and 2) I'm trying to give as many chances as possible that people will see this. The last thing I want is for someone to miss the due date because they straight up didn't see it.

I made an announcement about this, but I wanted to make an update here too: I am planning to close this fic at the end of July 22nd instead of the beginning. Usually I do it at the beginning and try to get the cast up that day, but I am going to be busy on the 22nd, so – while I admit I might start setting stuff up later in the day – I figured I might as well give you guys the whole day. :)

Counting the 22nd, there are three days until this closes! 

I've had some requests for extensions, but I'd encourage others to ask if they need them. My current plan is to just wait until everyone with an extension has gotten their forms in instead of making a new due date (Idk I feel like giving a new due date will just add pressure, you know?) so if you don't say anything, I won't know to wait for you. I also won't be allowing new extensions after the end of the 22nd (So I guess the beginning of the 23rd) to avoid the date being pushed forever.
