Chapter 3

The next day, 4:15 a.m...

I heard my alarm clock go off. School! No beatings! Hooray! I put my hair in a bun and put on some normal school clothes. I placed some money in my wallet. I ran to the kitchen, I fixed Father, Dara, Laura, and all the other guests breakfast. I fixed a smoothie for my self and read the paper.

4:35 a.m...

I ran to Kennedy's house and knocked on the door. Kennedy answered.

"Why did you come by this early? Kennedy asked.

"That's how early I normally come. You don't remember that. Do you?" I asked.

Kennedy shook her head. She grabbed her stuff and followed me to Starbucks. At Starbucks, I got a vanilla bean frappechino and Kennedy got a pumpkin spice latte. We were on our way to Dunkin Donuts for our daily donut. When we arrived, we both got Boston cream donuts. I took a bite of that delicious donut. It tastes so good.

"Mmmm!" I yelled, "This tastes so good!"

Kennedy yelled, "I know, right?!

"We have to jog now." I told Kennedy.

"Why?" She asked.

"To pick up Ellie and Susan at their houses." I replied.

"Right." Kennedy said, rolling her eyes.

I started jogging towards Ellie's house. She lived seventeen blocks away from Dunkin Donuts and fifteen blocks away from Starbucks. Kennedy followed. One block passed by, then two, then three. I looked at the beautiful trees all around me. We passed the Lincoln Memorial. This signals that were close to Ellie's house.

30 minutes later...

We finally arrived at Ellie's house. It takes 30 minutes to get from Ellie's house to Susan's house. I knocked on her door.

"Hello?" Ellie asked.

"School." I muttered under my breath.

Ellie took a deep breath and ran to get her clothes on. She ran out of her house. We all sprinted to Susan's house as fast as we possibly could at the moment. Once we arrived, I saw Ellie's mouth drop open. I ran to her and placed my hand over her mouth.

"Close your mouth, before you catch flies." I mumbled.

Ellie nodded and shut her mouth.

"Who's going to knock on the door?" I asked.

"You do it, Alli, you asked." Ellie replied.

"Okay. I'll do it." I mumbled under my breath.

I knocked on Susan's door.

"Hello?" She asked.

"School." I muttered.

She ran out of the door. We all stared at her like she was insane. I didn't. I know she's not insane. I know one person that's insane. That's Father. We sprinted to school as fast as we could. I was waiting at a bench, talking with my friends.
