'Master Muzan is onto me... honestly what did I expect?' Akaza scowled while walking across a dirt path, the moon high in the sky to guide him on his way.

'I can't see Kyojuro... or else I'll have to turn him into a demon like Muzan-sama wanted. Kyojuro doesn't want to be a demon so I can't force him' the upper moon gritted his teeth while kicking around a stone, he really did want to see Rengoku. But he couldn't.

Akaza decided that he should just watch Kyojuro. Just to make sure he was safe from Douma.

"Maybe I should send him a letter to explain everything so he doesn't get worried?..." Akaza wondered quietly to himself. Gosh he looked like a teenage girl thinking about her crush right now! How pathetic.

"Oh who am I kidding... Kyojuro doesn't care about me or my affairs, I'm a demon after all" he sighed, walking along a path towards a small city.

Akaza needed to eat some humans. He had to break their promise, would Kyojuro's hate him if he did so? The demon's mind was plagued with worry. What if Rengoku never wanted to see him again?..

Finally arriving at the small city, Akaza started to freely walk down the mildly busy streets - the path and shops illuminated by gentle yellow lights. Not many people bothered to spare the demon a glance which was surprising considering his strange appearance.

After all there was a lot of crackheads around.

While stuck in thought, Akaza felt his senses warn him suddenly.

The demon snapped his head around sharply, just in time to see a small braid of pink hair disappearing stealthily into the crowd.

'A demon slayer?' He thought with a little excitement, he could do with some entertainment to get his mind of Kyojuro. So Akaza did what any demon would do and pretended to be oblivious, strolling to the outskirts of the city with a calm but smug look in his face.

'3... 2 ... 1 anddd'

"Stop demon!"

'Knew it' Akaza smiled to himself, turning around to see a woman with long pink and green braids and a unique sword which seemed to take the consistency of a whip.

"Oh for fuck sake why do you have to be a woman?" The demon shouted in annoyance, narrowing his eyes.

Mitsuri whom had happened to come across this upper moon, gave him a both flabbergasted and offended face "hey come back here! Don't walk away you brute!"

Akaza turned around to give her a deadpan face "leave me alone I'm not going to hurt you so piss off" he scowled. Mitsuri gasped "you're so rude! Wait a minute your eyes! You're the upper moon who hurt Kyojuro-san!" She pointed her finger at Akaza - to which he raised his eyebrow.

"Kyojuro? You know Kyojuro? Are you two close?" Akaza attacked her with a barrage of questions, his eyes glowing with interest now.

Mitsuri was rather stunned to say the least "o-of corse I know him he taught me how to fight!"

Akaza took a step closer to her "are you a pillar? I can sense that you are strong"

A smile graced her lips "yep! The love pillar!" She sounded rather proud, which Akaza found quite funny to say the least "Pft. I can see why Kyojuro taught you, you've got a good fighting spirit. Now excuse me but I will not fight you"

'This demon... why isn't he trying to kill me?'

"Hey come back here I still need to slay you!" She ran after the upper moon, going in for an attack but Akaza simply dodged and did nothing more to return another.

"I don't kill women, now leave" Akaza scowled, now more aggressive than before. "B-but you hurt Kyojuro-san so I'm getting revenge for him!"

"You sound like a child throwing a tantrum" Akaza scolded, still trying to walk away.

"Hey! Don't walk away from me!" Mitsuri wined, her face suddenly brightening when Akaza turned back to look her in the eye.

"Tell Kyojuro something for me?"

Mitsuri sweat dropped, her face scrunching in confusion "uhh.. ok?"

"Tell him I said I'm sorry"

Tomioka sat opposite Rengoku, his body stiff with nerves.

Normally Tomioka expected Rengoku to be buzzing with chatting and laughing, but for some reason his eyes kept glancing at the window - face twisted with some sort of worry.

Tomioka was uncomfortable with the silence, the dark room having a heavy and constricting feeling.

The water pillar turned to the male... this was more awkward then he thought it was going to be.

"Goodnight Kyojuro" he said simply, breaking the silence. Rengoku jumped and panicked a little before calming himself "ah! G-goodnight Tomioka sleep well!" He exclaimed and quickly tucked himself under the covers.

Giyuu raised an eyebrow but didn't question the behaviour - afraid he might pry too much into Rengoku's personal affairs.

Therefore the male laid on his back and tried to close his eyes, listening to Rengoku's gentle breathing and letting that lull him to momentary slumber.

It was deep into the night now, Tomioka had always been a very light sleeper - awoken by even the faintest of a birds chirp. Which is why his eyes slowly opened at the sound of a floorboard creaking slowly.

A little bit hesitant to move, Giyuu pretended to shift in his sleep and turn around to look at where the noise came from. The male was startled to see Kyojuro sneaking out the room rather stealthily.

'What is he doing?... perhaps going to the toilet?' The pillar thought to himself, however that idea was thrown out of the window when Giyuu saw Rengoku's kantana tightly tucked by his side.

'Strange... he can't possibly be training at this time. I'll just check on him to make sure he's ok' Tomioka decided as he watched the other slowly close the door behind him - allowing Giyuu to let out a nervous breath and slowly go to follow Rengoku.

The night was cold, a heavy cloud hanging over the sky which contributed to the overly ominous yet unsettling feeling.

Giyuu followed Rengoku outside, his eyes narrowed in confusion as the pillar sat down in the dark garden with his eyes upturned to the sky.

Kyojuro's hands trembled visibly.

Just then Tomioka saw one of Rengoku's hidden weaknesses; tears. He was crying.

Precious liquid slid down his face like smooth glass, bright eyes reflecting hidden sorrows. Tomioka could do nothing but stare in bewilderment, his heart aching at the sight.

Finally Rengoku sniffled up his tears, wiping a hand across his cheeks while slowly moving to unsheathe his sword.

The water pillar froze. Face drained of colour suddenly as Kyojuro pressed the blade against his stomach.
