Hermione's P.O.V

I walked into the Great Hall next to my friends, in a bit of shock that so many people had been saying hello to the Thestrals, and sat at Gryffindor's table. Ron sat across from me, Ginny beside me, Harry across from her. Neville joined us a little later. McGonagall stood up at the head of the table and everyone got quiet. "Hello students and welcome back to some of the old ones." Her gaze fell on all of the returning seventh years. "I have a few rules to let you know of. The Forbidden Forest is forbidden. As are all Weasley's Wizard Wheeze's products, along with anything from Zonko's. That is all for now. Let's eat shall we." She sat down and food appeared, the first years had been sorted before we'd gotten there this year so they were already seated. The first years looked stunned, but the rest of us dug in. At the end of the feast, everyone was ready for bed and McGonagall let us leave. I was leaving when I saw a blond haired boy stand up. I walked ahead a little and my friends caught up. "What is it, love?" Ron asked. I spelled 'nothing' in the air with my wand. They all nodded and closed behind me a bit. I was almost to a shortcut when I felt a hand on my elbow. I grabbed my wand and turned. "Hermione!" Draco exclaimed. My voice, despite having not been used in two weeks, would have spoken if I hadn't gotten so good at not answering. I waved and tried to walk away. "'Mione, what's he want?" Harry asked, coming up behind me. I shrugged and saw a set of three wands being pointed at him. "Go away, you hurt her. Go away." Ginny threatened. "The last thing she said was 'Malfoy' before she refused to talk for two weeks. I will find out what you did, and when I do, God help you." "Hermione," Draco said looking at me." 'Go away' I spelled out. "Did she lose her voice or is she just refusing to talk." "She's probably lost the ability to speak by now." Ron sneered. "Get lost, ferret." Harry snarled, "And tell Blaise that Ron and I need to talk to him." "So you're still friends with him, but not me." "We tolerated you, we were never friends." Draco sneered at Ron's comment and walked away. I ran after him, the three let me go. I grabbed him, he spun. I whispered, in a hoarse voice, "Meet me later, astronomy tower." Then smacked him across the face. Hopefully he knew not to look shocked that I'd spoken and I'd only smacked him so they'd think that's what I'd been doing. I stalked away from him and up to the Gryffindor tower.
I spelled something about leaving me alone, then ran up the stairs to the girl's dorms. Ginny didn't follow. I considered leaving my dorm room open to let her come in whenever she wanted to talk, but I didn't. I closed it and went to take a shower. My things had magically appeared in my room, I had a feeling a certain ferret had made sure they were on the train. When I was finished I heard a knock on the door. I opened it and saw that it was Ginny. 'Go away' I spelled out. She nodded and walked further up the stairs to her room. The girls, unlike the boys, had their own rooms something about needing more space. I waited a while then went to get Harry. 'Harry,' I spelled once he was awake, 'Can I use the Invisibility cloak I need to think.' He grabbed it and gave me a hug. He went back to bed after watching me throw the cloak on. I walked down the stairs and out of the door. The fat lady called after me, I ignored her. I made my way to the Astronomy Tower and wondered what I was doing, and why on earth I was smiling. He'd hurt me, so bad, but yet I was excited to see him. I reached the top of the tower and pulled the cloak off. I looked around and saw him sitting at one of the tables. "Hello Hermione." I waved. 'What's up?' I spelled in the air, resisting the urge to throw myself at him. "You asked me here remember?" He responded smartly. I could feel the tension in the air and almost see the blood pumping through his veins. I spoke then, softly and hoarsely, "I wanted to talk to you." He came closer. "I wanted to tell you that I passed out. I dreamed of you, cutting you're arms. It hurt me." I said and my voice cracked. He inhaled sharply and jumped back. "Is that all?" I nodded. "Then I'll be going. Kindly don't tell anyone." "I wasn't planning on it." I said, my voice and bit louder and stronger. "I dreamed of you." He said sitting on the floor, I sat with him. "I dreamed of you, dreaming of me, drinking to me, doing the same things I was doing." He said. "I dreamed of you, dreaming of me, drinking to me, doing the same things I was doing." I repeated, a bit steadier. He stared, "What is it that draws me too you? As if you are the Sun and I the earth?" "What is it that draws heart to heart, mind to mind, soul to soul, one to one?" I asked, my voice almost back to normal, I guess the spell I'd cast when I'd stopped speaking had worked. He leaned back and I realized we'd both been leaning towards each other. "If by word of mouth, or by actions and deeds, or simply by something greater than me." "Or simply by something greater than we." I repeated. Then we snapped out of reverie and I kissed him. He held me and it seemed just perfect. But at the same time it was against the rules and I was promised to Ron. But Ron didn't matter, not at that moment. Not in that place in the universe. Not in a small infinity that no one but us knew of.
When we pulled apart he looked physically pained. "Then I suppose we might stop hiding it." He said, "But we must also still hide it from all others." "It can be our dirty secret." I said, my voice steady and back to normal. "If I can't speak to you, please understand." He said. "I know, we can correspond secretly, send owls at night I will get them, make sure I only get them when I'm alone." He nodded. "Good-night Hermione Granger. And when you're with me know that nothing else will matter. We will keep this hidden." I nodded and he disappeared down the stairs. I followed after a while and went back to my own room quickly. I walked into the common room and saw a shape behind me. I thought nothing of it and went to my room. It wasn't as if the shape was any harm to me.
