Into The Silent Night

This is just more of a Joriah and Lukourtney oneshot, (maybe slight fluff? ;) and it's a holiday themed one. I recommend you listen to the song while reading this. So....yeah! Thanks for reading!!!

The snow is falling, like I am for you
Hear the children singing one of our favorite tunes
       Christmas trees, nativities
See the world in red and green

Joel sat on the couch, his arm around his wife, Moriah. It was December 20th, and it was snowing in Nashville for once. They were watching The Heart Of Christmas, and he couldn't wipe the smile off his face. Luke and Courtney had come over, and were on the loveseat, as the snow had trapped them there. Luke had his arm around her as well, and Courtney held his hand in hers. The lights on the tree shone, the ornaments sparkling in the light. They also had a glass nativity scene on the coffee table, and it shone in the light. Luke looked up and out the window, the lights on the house painting the snow red and green. He smiled, hearing a group of carolers singing Joy To The World. It couldn't get any better than this.

Into the silent night, with you by my side
Joy in a lonesome world, for this boy and girl
Angels celebrate, as we stand face to face
With God's gift tonight, you and I.

The movie ended, and Luke and Courtney went into the kitchen for more cocoa. Moriah snuggled closer to Joel, smiling, and he held her close. He couldn't imagine life without her anymore. It was little moments like these that brought him the most joy. Luke leaned against a counter, watching Courtney get the cocoa ready, and he smiled. She looked up, smiling as well.
"What's that look for?" She asked, handing him a mug.
"What look?" He took it, taking a sip and getting a little bit of whipped cream on the tip of his nose. She laughed, using her finger to gently wipe it off.
"The look that says you're just really happy or pleased about something." He chuckled slightly, leaning down and kissing her.
"Am I not allowed to be really happy that I get to spend time with my lovely wife?" He whispered, and she blushed slightly, smiling.
"I never said that." They both laughed quietly, going back in the living room.

If you couldn't tell, darling, I only have eyes for you.
       After rain, seasons change.
Til Christmas day comes back again
       Love remains

Joel sighed slightly, and Moriah looked up, pulling her sweater tighter around her.
"What was that for?" He smiled, gently pressing his lips to her forehead.
"Nothing. Just being happy to have you." She pulled her legs up onto the couch, and placed a kiss on his cheek.
"And I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. I can promise you that much." She had one hand on her stomach, and he placed one of his on top of hers.
"A lot is going to change with this little one coming. But I know one thing won't." She looked at him.
"And what might that be?" He had a slight glimmer in his eyes, and he moved his lips close to her ear.
"How much I love you." He said, and then kissed her cheek.

         Sun and rain, seasons change
         Through it all, love remains.

About an hour later, Luke and Courtney went to the guest room they were staying in, and she closed the door. Luke took off his jacket, shuddering a little.
"Brr. Why does winter have to be cold?" Courtney laughed, and they both changed quickly.
"Maybe, when we get to heaven, winter won't be as cold." She said, sliding under the covers, and Luke laughed, getting in on the other side.
"Maybe. And I will be able to have snickers again." She laughed, and he wrapped an arm around her waist as she snuggled closer.
"You're one of the only people I can hear saying that. Goodnight, Luke." He chuckled, leaning over to kiss her cheek.
       "Goodnight, love."

Joel and Moriah headed for their room, also quickly changing to escape the cold.
"Brr. I really wish we had an Australian winter here." Moriah laughed.
"Snow has its own charm. It's also very good at trapping people." Joel laughed, sliding under the covers.
"You're definitely right about that." She smiled, getting in on the other side and snuggling close to him.
"When am I not right?" Joel chuckled.
"I'd like to remain in one piece, so I am not going to answer that question." She laughed again.
"Good choice. Goodnight, Joely." He smiled, kissing her.
        "Goodnight, love."
