Chapter 1

Dianna blankly stared out the window as Mr. A taught the class economics. The weather outside was how she felt; dull and uninterested about the world around her. She longed for another break in the school year. They were one of the only times that she could go out into the world and be a completely different person than what she was.

She scribbled down notes as the proffesor went on, making sure she at least looked like she was paying attention. The class went on for awhile. She glanced at the clock various times, though it seemed to take forever to move from one spot to another. As time ticked away, so did her patience for the course.

The ring of the telephone located at the back of the class broke Dianna out of her trance. The annoyance of the small grey cord telephone which hung on the back wall interrupted Prof. A and made him turn to face the infernal thing. He walked down the centre alley way between the rows of desks as he made his way over to the phone.

The room was silent when he picked up the phone and answered it. Nobody usually calls the GIS. Any calls that would be made would go directly to Lucy Fang, the headmistress of the school. She almost never interrupted a class because of anything, she only did it when it was an absolute emergency. Everyone knew what usually happened if a call interupted a class: the individual would go to the headmistress' office and they would never be seen again.

"Of course, I'll send her down right away." Mr. A then hung up the phone and turned to the class. The room was dead silent as he walked over to the front of the class. "Miss Mond, you are needed to go to the headmistress' office."

A gasp filled the air. Dianna sighed and stood up. "Yes sir." She mumbled gathering her things and left the class. Mr. A commenced the class after she had left.

Dianna soon arrived in front of the headmistress' door. "Here we go." She mumbled to herself before she knocked.

"Come in." The sweet voice of the headmistress called from the other side, welcoming Dianna into the office.

Dianna entered and walked over to the headmistress' desk.

"Please sit."

Dianna pulled out the chair facing the desk and sat down. The chair had a leather cushioned seat and a red wood frame. The floor was covered with a red velvet carpet, the walls were painted s burgundy red. Shelves lined the walls filled with books of sorts. Two love seat couches sat on either side of the room in front of the door. A large bay window stood behind the headmistress, the black curtains were closed darkening the room. The headmistress herself sat prominently at her desk and smiled at Dianna.

"You may be wondering why you are here."

"I was." Dianna replied shyly.

"Don't be afraid." Lucy showed her painted on smile.

"I'm not afraid."

"Good. I have brought you here because I have a special mission for you. I need you to attend Glen Brooke's public High School for now."

"When can I return?"

"I'll call you." Lucy handed Dianna a black flip cell phone. "Don't lose it."

Dianna looked at the black device and then at the headmistress. "I won't."

A beep of a car horn sounded from outside before Lucy got up from her chair. "That's your ride."

Dianna nodded and stood up. She slung her bag over her shoulder and headed for the door.

"Remember to be on your best behaviour." Lucy called as Dianna left the room.

Dianna waved and headed to the front of the school. Many peeking eyes peered out from various places as Dianna climbed into the small Volkswagen. They remained as the gate opened which allowed the car to leave the school grounds.

Off went Dianna, never to be seen at GIS again.... ...or so they thought....
