Anna bit her lip softly, tapping her foot impatiently on the ground. "I-I can't really explain right now, but I'm on my way home. Please don't tell Dad–"

She choked up, shaking her head softly, "I got kicked out of school, a-and I told them to call you. I guess you didn't get the message in time."

"I'll see you soon. I love you," Anna finished hanging up the phone.
