Chapter 2

I tug my dress a little up from both sides so that I can walk without tripping over nothing again.

I try to tear it up from below a little to decrease its length but couldn't. The hem is even not supporting me today; nothing's on my side today. I turn around repeatedly to find a car or anything that can drive me to a locality or somewhere I can find a hotel. I'm not so strong that I'll walk all the way by my feet and not even so lucky that I'll find a place to calm my nerves and my growling tummy down. I stop in the middle of the road being tired several times.

After some time, I sit on a big stone to give my feet some rest.

"Shit!" I stand up when the tiny creatures of Jesus also start to pinch me, freaking ants!

After walking for a while, my body regains its stamina noticing two or three shops or something at a far distance. I look up and thank Jesus before walking fast towards it. My feet are painful, and I'm feeling weak on my knees. I find a smile tugging on my lips when I notice it's a gas-filling station with a restaurant beside a shop for goods. There is also a tiny ladieswear shop. It could be a bus stop considering there are a variety of shops at the same place. Or else, why would there be a ladieswear shop in the middle of a highway?

I enter the restaurant and take a seat in a corner. The restaurant is not so big and has a calm environment. Thankfully the restaurant is not overcrowded and none is here to notice my horrible state besides an old man busy with his meal, well too busy I must say.

I have to get rid of my wedding dress as soon as I finish having my dinner here. Whenever I'm looking at this dress or acknowledging the presence of this dress on me, my memories haunt me more. Wedding dresses can be the perfect nightmare if you don't tie them with daydreams. Yeah.

"Anything I can help you with sweet lady?" I turn at the sweet female voice and see a middle-aged blonde woman smiling at me. I nod and she passes me the menu. Looking at the menu, my tummy starts to play drum rolls.

To calm my growling stomach, I order some spaghetti and an iced pop.

"You could order a chilled beer if you don't want much alcohol; you know you look tired dear." She says more like questioning.

"Okey, thanks." I smile and she walks away after giving me a nod.

I feel exhausted. The order is going to take a bit late, so I walk towards the washroom. I look at my reflection in the mirror.

Is it me? Aren't I supposed to tie my long blonde hair perfectly and wear a neat and clean dress like my father's perfect girl? Yes, I am supposed to but I've no option to do that now.

I run my fingers through my tangled hair and make a messy bun out of it. Splashing some cold water over my face, I go outside and see a tall figure sitting on my table.

No way we live on the smallest planet in the whole universe!

It doesn't take me long to recognize him, even from backwards. Rolling my eyes, I walk towards the table and stand in front of him.

"Someone has found her destination at last I think!" He says leaning against his chair. He crosses his arms behind his head and I notice a ferns tattoo hugging his hips. I look away immediately and look at him again. A huge grin is covering his face and his eyes are bloodshot. Is he drunk? Nothing unexpected if he is.

"Someone has found only my table to sit on I think." I snap, crossing my arms over my chest, no fear but only anger evident in my voice.

"Your table? Your table?" He repeats. "Wow! I found this table empty and I didn't know about your rules of 'my table'!" He almost yells, emphasizing the word my table.

I look and see that we've already grabbed the attention of the people who've considered grabbing their meal while I was in the washroom. Damn. I've never felt so humiliated in front of a bunch of unknown people. I give all of them an "everything's okey here" look and sit down on the chair in front of me.

"Look." I look at him tiredly. "I'm so tired and exhausted of everything right now. Can we accept the world being so small and take meals at the same table? Without creating a mess?" I ask him softly, mostly whispering looking at his green eyes.

"W......okey." He agrees and rolls his eyes.

"All the tables were empty a while ago and now it's filled with people." I frown looking around when I realize that none of us can even change the table.

"Here's your meal. You two have ordered the same thing, just different drinks." The lady with the same sweet voice comes towards the table and serves our meals. I match what she said by looking at both of our drinks—chilled beer and lemonade. This green-eyed boy is failing not to surprise me.

"Change the drink for me; I've changed my mind. I need some chilled beer." He tells boldly, looking at the waitress.

"Okay, anything else dear?" She asks and we both say no.

During the meal, I look at him a few times. If he wasn't this rude to me for the past few hours, I could've considered him as an attractive one. He looks at me raising his eyebrow as we both touch the bottle of sauce at the same time. I move my hand and grab the bottle after he finishes taking it. What a gentleman.

"Food will get stuck inside your throat if you keep staring at me this much." He tells looking at his plate and then looking at me.

"I wasn't staring at you." I roll my eyes after choking in my food.

"You were." He smirks.

"Oh God!" I frown and get busy with my meal.

"Yes, girls sometimes call me that!" He chuckles.

"I was actually calling God God!" I smile sarcastically. "Erm....do you know any nearby hotel or a place I can stay the night?" I ask him finally taking a sip of my chilled beer.

"No and especially not my car, again." he replies boldly and orders another chilled beer for himself.

Finishing my drink before him, I stand up and caress my hands over my messed-up dress. I intend to say bye or goodbye to him but reject my plan when I see him talking over the phone with someone.

I grab my purse and walk fast to the cash counter. I ring the bell noticing none is on the counter. In a few moments, the same lady appears with a smile on her lips. I sigh when Mr. Punk arrives to pay the bill and stands beside me. He rolls his eyes looking at me and I do the same. I've never rolled my eyes so much before I met this tattooed boy.

"You two are........"

"Nothing!" He snaps and slams his bill over the desk.

"I predicted!" The lady at the counter blinks her eyes being afraid and then looks at me.

Keeping my money on the desk, I smile at her and then decide to go to the shop beside this restaurant. I wanted to ask this lady about any hotel nearby but give up to get rid of Mr. Punk at the earliest possible.

Entering inside the shop, I feel at ease realizing the ladieswear shop has a massive collection of clothes. I walk towards the pile of dresses hanging on a side and try to find something comfortable.

I check the price tags before choosing one unlike always, because I don't have my credit cards with me like I always do. I have never been taught how to save cash. All the time, I'll go shopping, take whatever I like and shove my credit card on the counter. I'm not complaining but looks like I've got to learn a lot of new things for my new life.

"You are looking for white dress only I noticed. I can show you some good ones." A  boy with ginger hair appears in front of me. I understand he works here by the nameplate hanging over the left side of his chest.

"No thanks. I'll go for these two for now." I hand him two different designed white off-shoulder crop tops, a black high waist skirt and skinny blue jeans. I walk to the corner where all the shoes are displayed and finally choose a pair of white toms. I don't even know why I am not buying those kinds of dresses which I never purchased or planned to buy. Failing to find any undergarments, I walked towards the cash counter.

"Where is my purse?" I whispered to myself looking around.

"Is everything fine?" The ginger boy asks tilting his glasses over his nose.

"No, nothing is fine actually; I think I've lost my purse!" I used it at the restaurant for the last time. As soon as the thought crossed my mind, I ran towards the restaurant.

"Why rushing red cheeks? I could always give you a ride!" A strong hand pulls me towards a figure by my wrist, causing me to bump into him.

I look at the boy with a beard looking at me stupidly. He's leaning on his motorcycle with four boys who are stalking at me from tip to toe. His hands are full of tattoos like the green-eyed boy but his looks nasty.

Wait, am I praising his tattoos? Of course not; I was just comparing; tattoos are not my thing.

"Leave me alone." I say, gritting my teeth, trying to get away from his firm grip.

"Leave me alone!" He teases, making a female voice and pulls me towards him more. "Respond softly or I know how to act hardly!" He grins keeping his black eyes locked on me.

Before he can lean closer I spit on his face and run fast to the restaurant. I bump into something and hug the tall figure tightly unsure of what I'm doing.

"Save me, please." I beg against his warm chest, sobbing.

He raises my chin up and once again his green eyes meet mine. He grabs my arm and pulls me to stand behind him. Making a sound using his thumb and middle finger, he gestures the goons to go away. The boy who was grabbing my hand a while ago steps forward but another boy stops him and whispers something in his ear. Giving us a death glare, they go away.

I keep my body hidden behind the tall frame I was afraid of a while ago.

If I'm not wrong, he smells like sweet bakery items.
