Chapter 4
Dipper P.O.V
I gasp and wake up in a cold sweat from my dream. Bill Cipher isn't dead and he is already aware of my presence in Gravity Falls.
Eager to start the day, I throw on some clothes and run downstairs. Out of paranoia, I decided to keep Bill's appearance to myself. Stan and Ford would not like that I am becoming involved with him again.
I walk downstairs to the kitchen and share a soft smile. Stan and Ford are sitting at the table eating a bit of cereal and drinking coffee.
"Morning," I say as I pour myself a cup of coffee and pour in a good bit of flavored creamer.
"Good morning, Dipper," Ford greets, gesturing for me to join them.
"Hey Dipper, what time did you get in?" Stan asks, taking a drink of his coffee.
"Late, I got off to a bit of a late start. I just went ahead and let myself in so I wouldn't wake you," I tell him, sipping my coffee.
They both nod as we continue with breakfast. I remain quiet for the most part. My nightmare will not leave my mind.
"Something on your mind, Dipper?" Stan asks, seeing that I'm not being very talkative.
I shake my head. "I'm just glad to be back. It's been a long six years."
He pats my shoulder before getting up. Stan has never been one for the heart to heart talks, but that's almost a good thing. I'm not exactly good with conversations about emotions either.
"So, what are your plans for the summer?" Ford asks after Stan leaves.
"Well," I start, "I'm hoping to add to your journals; find some new creatures. Plus it's been six years. I've been dying to come back," I explain.
He nods. "Ah, I simply loved finding new creatures in my youth. There are so many intriguing things to discover and I'm sure there are still many, many more."
I laugh softly and nod. I simply cannot wait to get out and check things out. I've been wanting to explore more for six years. Now I'm finally back and have time to do what I want.
"I hope you have fun adding to the journals, Dipper. Let me read whatever you discover," he says happily.
"Of course," I reply, setting my empty mug in the sink.
I head back upstairs and grab the third journal and a pencil. I am excited and anxious at the same time.
The forest is the best place to start looking for new creatures. I run down the stairs and I'm quickly out the door. I've waited for far too long and I cannot wait another second.
I walk into the forest and can't help but smile to myself. The last time I was in these woods was six years ago and yet I still remember them vividly.
The leaves crunch on the ground as I walk. The crisp summer breeze blows gently against my cheeks. The mysteries of the forest are hidden by its relaxing aura, but I know the truth. These woods are anything but relaxing.
