Leviathan
(A/N: special thanks to @bobisruler for being my beta reader.)
In the depths of hell was the Cocytus. Otherwise known as Leviathan's frozen sea. A domain made completely of pure ice where the black sun of hell does not shine. A place where the frozen breeze would be enough to make any normal creature have their lungs freeze.
The large waves have been frozen in their place, making them look like menacing hills of ice that hasn't melted even a little since they were frozen. The Dark clouds of the sky casting a sinister shadow along the land with the only light being provided by the thunder.
Despite the cold being unbearable to normal beings, one person was walking through the frozen terrains. A person all of hell feared, and with a good reason.
It was a man with a tall, well-built body. He was wearing a pale, bone-like armor mixed with metal. The armor covered his chest where a Crimson orb was pulsing like a heart. The left shoulder was covered with three short spikes, while the left arm was covered in the same white armor and the knuckles like the shoulder bearing spikes.
The right shoulder, like the left one, had three spikes in it, but, unlike the other shoulder, their tips were broken and burned. The left arm is covered by a black, somewhat bulky gauntlet that had lava-like veins running through it with claws for fingers.
The legs were also covered by bone armor. They had spikes on the knees, and the legs covered by claws making them look like talons.
The helmet being completely white, save for the glowing red eyes that are shaped into a glare. Horns protruding from the sides of his helmet, both twisted to point at the front. The metal jaw had a somewhat cage-like shape with a pointy chin and a red glow coming out of it.
That person is the Unofficial Sin of Wrath. The person who walked through Hell killing all who stood in his way. The wielder of the Crimson Nova energy… Genocide.
"Where are you, you overgrown snake?" he grumbled to no one in particular.
Genocide is tired of dealing with simple demon grunts. He had decided to finally end the demons from their source. Cut off the snake's head. To kill Satan and the Demon Lords, which brought him to the Frozen sea.
Apparently, to EVEN get to Satan himself, you need to kill the four Demon Lords and the Two Ancient Guards. Yet despite how powerful they were, even they feared the Primordial Demon's power, which is why they locked him away with a powerful seal.
The seal was connected to the life of each of the Demon Lords, which means they have to die for it to be removed. It was a win-win in his case. Then you would need to kill the Ancient Guards who protect the domain Satan was locked in. He was already planning to kill them in the first place.
This is the home of one of the Demon Lords, Leviathan, and Genocide was planning to take it out first.
After walking a few more minutes through the frozen terrains, the ground under him started shaking. The Unofficial Sin of Wrath immediately jumped away as something bursts out of the ice that he was just standing on.
Genocide rolled onto his feet and faced what had attempted to surprise attack him. As luck would have it. He was looking straight at the target he was searching for.
A large, amphibian looking snake with dark blue scales, pitch-black fangs and two pairs of yellow eyes was coiling around one of the massive frozen pillars. That is the Leviathan, one of the Demon Lords.
The Leviathan turned its head to Genocide, letting out a loud roar that shattered small shards of ice around them, covering the area in a cold shroud that surrounds area.
Genocide, however, simply snapped his neck. "Bring it," he said as the Crimson orb on the chest glowed before a weapon materialized in his hands in a red flash of light.
The weapon was apparently a double-barrel shotgun. The handle and trigger were black . The white barrels merging together, giving them a hexagon-shaped end.
This was a little trick he picked up while traveling through hell. The core of his armor acted like a pocket space to store his weapons in. He can even store his entire set of armor in a single amulet.
The Leviathan opened its giant jaw as blue fire sparked from its mouth. Genocide immediately jumped away as a wave of blue flames washed over the area he used to be. The whole spot was turned to frozen pillars.
The Unofficial Sin of Wrath had heard about the blue flames of the Leviathan, which is said to be able to freeze the fires of hell itself. So, he made a mental note to avoid it at all costs.
The Leviathan then did a dive trying to take a bite out of Genocide. The Wielder of the Crimson Nova had to jump away again in order to avoid the sharp teeth of the Demon Lord.
While the long body of the Leviathan was passing by his left, Genocide grabbed its side with the claws of his gauntlet, resulting in him being dragged.
The Demon Lord started moving around, trying to get his 'passenger' off. Genocide held on, and, with his free hand, aimed his shotgun at the creature's side before pulling the trigger.
But unlike a normal shotgun, this one didn't fire pellets or bullets. This shotgun shot bursts of Crimson energy that burned the side of the Demon Lord.
The Leviathan wailed in pain before he swung his body so that the side that Genocide was on would smash through a frozen pillar.
The Unofficial Sin of Wrath was sent rolling on the ground before he stood back up again. Normally, one blast from his shotgun would be enough to turn any demon into a gore-ish mess, but all it did now was leave a few burns. It seems that the Leviathan wasn't a Demon Lord for nothing.
Speaking of the giant serpent, it closed the gap between them and coiled itself around Genocide, holding him in a vice grip with only his head and left arm holding his shotgun were free.
Looking up at the Leviathan, four serpent eyes glared at his helmet's red ones, which glared back with the same intensity.
Being held by one of the Demon Lords, with only one arm free and a weapon that can barely help in this situation, Genocide had one thing to say. "Typical," he grumbled in annoyance. the sides of his shotgun opened up, recharging energy before he aimed its hexagon-shaped barrel at the Leviathan as it lunged at him.
A loud chomp sound resonated through the area. The Leviathan raised its head to the sky, only for its jaw to start twitching.
Forcibly, Genocide opened the Leviathan's giant jaws, using his arms to keep the upper teeth while his legs kept the lower ones open as the Demon Lord tried to crush him.
The Unofficial Sin of Wrath didn't know what was worse. Being held between the fangs of one of the Demon Lords, or how much the Leviathan needed to brush its teeth. He can swear he saw a skull or two between the fangs.
Suddenly, the inside of the Leviathan's mouth started glowing a blue color. Genocide knew that it was about to spew fire again, so he needed something to get out of his current position.
Using only his right arm to hold the upper fangs, Genocide used his left arm that still had the Shotgun to aim at the inside of the giant serpent's mouth, and shot a couple of times.
The Demon Lord felt the burning sensation inside its mouth and it wasn't pleasant at all. So, he started thrashing around while screeching in pain.
The fact that the Leviathan itself was screeching meant that its mouth was fully opened, giving Genocide a chance to jump out of it unharmed.
Landing on top one of the frozen hills, Genocide looked at the Leviathan as it thrashed in pain. He knew that this state wouldn't last very long.
So, running over the cliff, Genocide jumped to the Leviathan's head and landed at the top. Before the Demon Lord could try to shake him off, the Unofficial Sin of Wrath raised his gauntlet and plunged its claws in one of the Leviathan's eyes.
If the Leviathan wasn't in pain before, it definitely was now. The remaining three eyes open wide as the pain of losing one of them surged throughout its entire body.
Having enough, the Leviathan smacked its head on one the frozen hills, smashing it into pieces while throwing Genocide off its head at the same time.
Genocide stood up stiffly from the rubble with frozen chunks falling from his form. He waved his right hand to get rid of the Leviathan's eye remains while his shotgun vanished, being stored back into the core of his armor.
Speaking of the Demon Lord, it was obviously not happy. Right after it spotted Genocide, it immediately spewed blue at the Unofficial Sin of Wrath.
Upon seeing the flames, Genocide tried to jump away. But, he was unable to completely avoid them, which resulted in his right arm and leg to be consumed by blue fire.
The flames turned to ice almost instantly. The Unofficial Sin of Wrath was very thankful that his armor was resistant to temperature changes, otherwise his limbs would have been frozen from the outside and the inside.
With a growl of agitation, Genocide pulled on his frozen limbs. Giving some Crimson Nova energy, his right arm and leg slightly glowed a dark red color. Steam started coming off the ice as the heat of the Crimson Nova energy turned it to gas immediately upon connecting.
Cracks appeared on the ice as before it shattered as he pulled his arm and leg out. Whatever ice left on his armor was quickly being vaporized by the Crimson Nova energy.
Seeing Genocide break out of the ice, the Leviathan decided to try a more physical approach, by swinging its tail at him.
The Unofficial Sin of Wrath was sent flying towards one of the frozen hills. The collision destroyed most of it along with covering the area in a frozen mist.
Slowly slithering around the mist, the Leviathan kept its remaining eyes open for any sign of its opponent.
The Demon Lord was not prepared for when a large chunk of ice suddenly flew out of the mist and collided with its head. The Leviathan was left dazed, it did not notice as another chunk of ice crashed into its head.
The mist cleared showing Genocide with his hands outstretched after throwing the ice. He was glad that the Leviathan's eyes were glowing yellow, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to spot him from inside the mist.
Seeing its prey again, the Leviathan raised its head before diving in towards Genocide, in an attempt to either crush him, or eat him.
The Unofficial Sin of Wrath immediately jumped away from the Leviathan as it crashed through the ground. But, surprisingly, kept going.
The ground under Genocide crumbled, taking him down with it. When the ice stopped falling, He found himself standing under the surface of the ice.
"Underground tunnels?" Genocide noted looking around at the many large tunnels around him.
All tunnels were made of ice, obviously. They were large, dark and seemed everywhere, and other than the light from the hole that was just made, there wasn't any light at all.
This certainly explained how the Leviathan appeared from under his feet at the beginning. The Leviathan apparently used these tunnels to move around.
Speaking of the Demon Lord, it was nowhere to be found, which means that it's must be going around in the tunnels. It was rather unsettling that it couldn't be seen, since it has the home field advantage.
However, this isn't the first time that Genocide fought against odds. So, after seeing which tunnel has the most recent marks, he started walking into the darkness of the tunnel without a second thought.
After a few moments, the light from the hole had faded and Genocide was surrounded by darkness listening to the echo of his footsteps. The only light around was the faint red glow from the joints and eyes of his armor, giving him a demonic look in the dark, which was ironic in his opinion.
He has already been to some of the darkest and scariest dungeons in hell, so being in a cave like this was no problem. It almost felt like a second nature now. He can't even remember the last time he was unsettled by his surroundings.
Genocide started feeling a few vibrations from the ground and heard something moving. He immediately materialized his shotgun. Since there were only two ways currently in the tunnel, he started looking back and forth, trying to spot the Demon Lord.
Instead of coming either way, the Leviathan broke through the wall at his side. By pure instinct, the Unofficial Sin of Wrath jumped away from its jaws as they clamped at where he was.
Genocide immediately stood up at the side of the Leviathan's head. Charging his right arm with some Crimson Nova energy, it glowed red as he turned around swinging a fist at the Leviathan.
The fist connected with the head of the Demon Lord, sending its head to the side. The Leviathan, obviously angry, turned its head back to look back at Genocide before ramming at him using the top of its head.
The Leviathan kept pushing Genocide with him and slammed into a few walls of ice, passing through a few tunnels before redirecting itself upwards.
Smashing through the ceiling of the tunnels, the Demon Lord and Unofficial Sin of Wrath returned to the surface of the Frozen Sea with the latter still stuck on the former's forehead.
The Leviathan's body was covered in dark blue electricity. The the cracks of electricity had reached the head, where Genocide was, shocking him in the process.
The Unofficial Sin of Wrath put his feet against the Demon Lord's head before using them to jump away from it. No longer connected, the electricity from the Leviathan's skin stopped affecting him.
Genocide landed on his feet with a loud crashing noise as cracks appeared on the ice under his feet. The fall would have killed a normal man, but he stopped considering himself 'normal' a long time ago.
Turning around, Genocide aimed his shotgun at the Demon Lord and shot at its side, creating burns from the Crimson Nova energy that the Shotgun uses.
The Leviathan's body turned to look at Genocide. The electricity cracking through its skin gave it a sinister look in the dark sky of the Cocytus as its remaining three eyes glared at its prey.
Opening its mouth, blue flames shot from between the Leviathan's fangs as it tried again to bury Genocide in ice.
The Unofficial Sin of Wrath managed to jump out of the way. But, when the blue fire had turned to an icy pillar, he jumped back to it and used it as a boost to jump straight toward the Leviathan's head.
Reeling back his right arm. The lava-like veins on the black gauntlet glowed a bright red color as Genocide covered it in Crimson Nova energy.
Swinging his fist, the punch collided with the Leviathan's head, a booming sound that echoed throughout the area as the Demon Lord's head was sent to the ground.
Landing beside the head, the Unofficial Sin of Wrath aimed his shotgun at the fallen Serpent. Pulling the trigger, the Crimson Nova energy burst from the hexagon-shaped barrel.
The right side of the Leviathan's head was scorched along with some flesh peeling off. The burning sensation was too much for the Demon Lord, as it screeched in pain before tackled Genocide in attempt to crush him.
The electricity floating through the Leviathan started shocking the Unofficial Sin of Wrath. Grunting in slight pain and annoyance, Genocide dismissed his shotgun, raised his left and started punching the Demon Lord's head.
He would have used his gauntlet since it would have done more damage, but he needed its claws to not fall off and be crushed by the rampaging Demon Lord.
Cracks appeared on the Leviathan's teeth as the punches got stronger. Getting tired of being dragged, Genocide aimed his next punch straight to the remaining eye on the left side of the giant serpent.
The spikes at the knuckles tore through the eye and dug into its socket, splattering blood around. The Leviathan screeched in unbearable pain before blindly crashing into one of the larger frozen hills.
The crash had destroyed the frozen hill, along with sending the two of them to the ground while breaking a few of the Leviathan's teeth that were already cracked.
Rising stiffly to his feet, the Unofficial Sin of Wrath saw the the Leviathan has yet to regain its composer. So, picking up one of the Demon Lord's broken fangs, he walked towards the head in an intent to finish this.
Genocide reeled back the fang and stabbed it in the forehead of its owner. The Leviathan immediately noticed the pain and raised its head to the sky, while Genocide held on to the fang being raised with the head.
When the Demon Lord's head had pointed at the sky, The Unofficial Sin of Wrath raised his gauntlet as it glowed red in power and punched the fang that was on the large serpent's forehead.
The sharp tooth had reached far enough to kill the Leviathan making it drop on the ground, it's body lifeless and unmoving while its yellow eyes lost its glow.
Genocide stood back up after being thrown to the ground and looked at the body of the dead Demon Lord. It clearly proved to be different than the mere grunts he's been dealing with.
"One down, three to go," the Unofficial Sin of Wrath said as he rotated his neck causing a few snaps to be heard.
With the now-dead Leviathan, Genocide turned and started walking away towards his next destination, and where he'll find the next Demon Lord.
