Asmodeus
Similar to many other locations in hell, Limbo was filled with screams. However, unlike the screams of torture and the damned, the screams in Limbo were filled with excitement and thrill.
The reason for that was because Limbo was where Asmodeus' battle arena was. The Demon Lord having long cleared the entire domain and built the arena in to host all sorts of battles. Bones littered the outskirts of the domain, showing the work of the Demon Lord.
After the bones, workshops and blacksmiths covered the field. Smoke and fire raged through the surrounding area, all of which are busy creating more weapons and equipment for future battles. Some were creating for themselves, some for someone else, and many were creating in an attempt to please the demon Lord.
The battle arena itself was absolutely colossus. Large metal pillars formed a hexagon shape with walls made of stone. Giant doors from every side, letting demons of every kind in. The arena had no roof or dome, showing a clear view of the inside to any who looked at it from the top.
Inside were rows and rows of seats, all filled to the brim with demons of all kinds, and all cheering for the battle going on. At the very front of the arena was a pair of large metal gates with a skeleton holding a sword and crossing it with the other one for warriors to come through. The battle ground was covered in dirt, blood, and dead bodies which grew in numbers. Several pillars with of stone stood inside the arena, each one had a corpse chained to it. Those were the demons that won the honor of facing Asmodeus and died at his hands personally.
In the back of the arena was balcony made of stone. Inside it was the king of the arena himself, the Demon Lord Asmodeus.
Sitting on a large black throne with a horned skull on the top, Asmodeus equally large frame was impossible to miss. His skin was dark grey and hard, looking almost like stone. Large tusks came out of the sides of his mouth. A metallic eyepatch covering his right eye without straps, seemingly welded in place. His shoulders had pitch black armor with the chest left bare except for the straps of the shoulder armor forming a 'X' on his chest. His large biceps were also left bare but his arms were covered in black gauntlets made from the same metal as the armor on his shoulders with the claws being pure silver. His lower half was completely covered in armor with the knees having spikes and the boots being heavy silver.
The balcony he was sitting in had weapons of all kinds filling the walls. Swords, axes, spears, and far more. One weapon that stood out was the large axe that was stabbed into the ground besides Asmodeus' throne. The axe had a large, straight blade with a blunt top. The other side of the axe formed hammer in the shape of dragon skull. The handle was pitch black with blunt silver end.
Despite the cheering demons and the sound of battle inside the arena as warriors fought, Asmodeus looked anything but happy. In fact, he looked quite annoyed and angry. A demoness wearing nearly nothing brought a mug large enough for her to need to use both hands to hold and placed it near the Demon Lord. Even the new drink did not managed to lift Asmodeus' mood. He gave a gruff before swinging his arm and swatting the demoness away, turning her to a red splat on the wall before grabbing the mug and beginning to drink from it.
The battle in the arena was reaching its conclusion. Only three demons left. A large minotaur-like demon with red skin holding two morning stars. Lizard-like demon with green skin holding a crooked dagger. The last was a humanoid demon wearing armour and holding a spear.
Their battle was never concluded, however, because the large door for contestants has suddenly been blown off. The fighting stopped and the crowd went quiet. From the darkness of the hall, a pair of red eyes glared into the arena. Soon, out came the white armor of the Unofficial Sin of Wrath holding a demon's head.
The crowd gasped and whispers spread. Asmodeus however, looked interesting before a large grin nearly split his face in half.
The minotaur demon roared and smacked his morning stars together before charging towards Genocide. The demon slayer dropped the head he was holding and stopped both weapons as the demon swung them at him by grabbing their poles in each hand. He gave the minotaur a headbutt powerful enough to make him stagger backwards and let go of his weapons, leaving them in Genocide's hold. Holding the weapons properly, Genocide crushed the demon's head between the morning stars before he had a chance to recover.
The large body dropped as the armored demon came in with spear in hand. Twisting his body, Genocide let the spear go past him instead of stab into his chest. He grabbed the pole with his right hand and broke the blade off before shoving it in the slit of the demon's helmet and letting go to watch the body drop.
Looking around, Genocide searched for the third demon. He was sure he saw a third one. Behind him on one of the stone pillars, the Demon seemed to meld off the pillar and appear in a chameleon-like method. Jumping with his crooked knife held high, the lizard demon attempted to surprise Genocide, who suddenly summoned his shotgun in his left hand, aimed it over his shoulder, and blasted the demon into pieces, letting blood drop on his armor.
If possible, the grin on Asmodeus' face got even wider. Getting up from his throne, he walked forward to the rails of his balcony while throwing the mug away. "Genocide!" Asmodeus' deep and gruff voice was heard by all the crowd. "Welcome to my arena!" He spread his arms wide in greeting.
"I'm here to kill you, Asmodeus. Not kill for you," Genocide said back, glaring up at Arena King.
"So, you ARE hunting the Demon Lords after all," Asmodeus commented as he placed his hands on the rails, having already heard of what happened to Leviathan and Beelzebub.
"Sad that I killed two of your buddies already?" Genocide asked sarcastically.
Asmodeus' laughter echoed through the whole arena. "Hardly!" He replied.
There was no love lost between the Demon Lords. The only time they ever agreed on something was when they sealed away Satan. As far as Asmodeus is concerned, Leviathan was a wild beast, Beelzebub was a deranged fool, and Lucifer was a spoiled brat.
Turning around, Asmodeus grabbed the handle of his axe - Armaggedon - and turned back to the arena while swinging it, breaking off the rails of the balcony in the process. Raising the axe high in the air, Asmodeus threw down his weapon. The large axe struck the ground with the blade end and caused a small quake in the battle ground. The demon Lord jumped after the weapon and caused an even larger quake when he landed.
"It's been some time since a true challenge has walked into my arena," Asmodeus walked towards Armaggedon and ripped it off the ground. "Especially one who carries his proof of strength like Rampage and Crusher."
Genocide growled as he glanced at the gauntlet on his right hand. Crusher and Rampage used to belong to Wrath, one of the seven sins, who Genocide killed, which earned him the Unofficial position of the Sin alongside Crusher and Rampage.
"Do you plan to face Satan?" The whispers of the crowd got louder at Asmodeus' question and fear spread at the mention of the Primordial Demon. "There is a reason that thing has been sealed away. Even we Demon Lords struggled simply to do that," Asmodeus raised his free hand and tapped his metal eyepatch with one of his claws, showing the damage from the battle with Satan. "It's less of a living being and more of destruction given form."
"And if I kill you four when it didn't, what's stopping me from killing it?" Genocide asked.
"True enough!" Asmodeus laughed loudly again before glaring at the Sin of Wrath. "But you'll have to succeed first."
The Demon Lord raised his head and roared to the skies, nearly deafening the demons in the lower seats. Charging forward, Asmodeus raised his weapon and swung the axe side of it at Genocide, who immediately summoned Rampage to block the strike.
The attack was strong enough to make Genocide skid backwards quite the distance. Asmodeus continued his charge and swung back his weapon with the other side, which was the hammer, and struck Genocide square in the chest, sending him flying away.
Genocide broke through one of the pillars that filled the arena before being stopped by another one. The pillar that stopped Genocide began falling in his direction as he stood back up. Seeing the shadow of the approaching pillar, Genocide dropped rampage and raised his hands to stop the pillar before lifting it up and throwing at the Demon Lord.
Asmodeus scoffed and swung the hammer side of Armaggedon, completely destroying the pillar and kicking up a dust cloud. There was a red glow from behind the cloud before Rampage came in flying and stabbed itself at the Demon Lord's left shoulder, causing him to let out a groan of pain.
Genocide came in charging out of dust cloud and punched Asmodeus in the face with Crusher. The Demon Lord twisted his body from the force of the punch and it was twisted again in the other direction when Genocide threw another punch with his other hand. The Sin of Wrath swung Crusher for a third punch only for Asmodeus to catch it with his left hand despite the blade in his shoulder.
Asmodeus swung Armaggedon and struck Genocide with the hammer side. Instead of sending him away, the Demon Lord angled the strike so that Genocide would go with the strike. Asmodeus span a couple of times to build momentum, the Sin of Wrath being carried on his weapon, before he swung him away with enough strength to send Genocide flying towards the walls of the arena.
Genocide actually crashed through the wall and unto the domain outside. The Sin of Wrath stopped after crashing into one of blacksmith workshops outside the arena and getting covered in rubble. The demon who was working there walked closer to look at what just ruined his workshop, only for Crusher to burst from the rubble and grab his head. The demon struggled before his head was completely crushed and his body went limb.
Genocide dug himself out of the rubble and looked at the arena wall he just burst through. Instead of coming out of the hole, Asmodeus jumped high into the air from the battle ground and landed on top of the arena, Armaggedon in hand and Rampage still lodged in his shoulder.
The arena King reaches up with his free hand and ripped the sword of Wrath out of his shoulder, uncaring for the blood it spilled, and hurled the weapon like a spear towards it's owner. Genocide didn't move an inch as Rampage landed right besides him, almost stabbing into his foot.
Asmodeus roared again and jumped high in the air, his weapon raised in both hands, before he started plumbing towards the Sin of Wrath. Picking up Rampage, Genocide's body glowed red as he growled before raising his sword to meet Armaggedon's axe side. The collision created a shock-wave of of red and grey energy that destroyed the buildings around them.
Genocide groaned under the pressure from Asmodeus before he twisted Rampage and made the Demon Lord's weapon pass his side and fall on the ground. Genocide placed his foot on Armaggedon, keeping it place, before swinging Rampage at the Demon Lord, only for him to catch the blade himself.
Letting go of his weapon, Asmodeus delivered a punch to Genocide's head and caused him to let go of Rampage. Recovering, Genocide threw his own punch that caused Asmodeus to twist his head and drop the sword he had caught. Recovering, Asmodeus threw his own punch which was caught by Genocide's left hand.
The Sin of Wrath attacked with his right hand but it was caught by the Demon Lord. Both sides began pushing the other as they glared, though the Demon Lord had an impossible to miss grin on his face. The ground beneath both their feet cracked but because of the difference in size, Genocide began skidding backwards, though his posture didn't change and his feet simply tore off the ground as the Demon Lord walked forward.
The pair continued their lock despite Genocide being pushed back. They reached another blacksmith workshop and even then Genocide's form did not falter. Instead, he was pushed straight through the wall with Asmodeus continuing his way. Breaking through weapon racks and fire, the Demon Lord and Sin of Wrath remained undisturbed. Anything in their path simply breaking and demons runic away as to not get caught in the crossfire.
Genocide pumped energy through his body. It glowed red and Asmodeus' pace began slowing down before coming to a complete stop. Smoke began coming from their joint arms, the energy from Genocide burning the Demon Lord's skin, who completely ignored the pain and the smell of his burning flesh.
Reeling his head back, Genocide sent a headbutt towards the Demon Lord, who staggered for a second before returning in kind, causing Genocide himself to stagger for a second as well. Next, they both sent a headbutt at the same time, causing both of them to break the lock and tale a few steps back.
Asmodeus recovered first and charged at Genocide, tackling him and sending both of them over a cliff towards the fields of bones at the outskirts of the domain. Landing roughly on the ground, the two rolled before Genocide kicked the Demon Lord off of him and sending him flying and smashing into the ribcage of a Titan's skeleton.
Getting up, Genocide charged at Asmodeus, Crusher raised in the air and glowing in power, and sent a powerful punch to Asmodeus' face. The strength of punch caused the Titan skeleton to shake but not break apart because of it's unnatural endurance. Genocide sent another punch only for the Demon Lord to bend down and dodge the strike.
Asmodeus sent an uppercut that had Genocide taking a few steps back. The Demon Lord followed it with a punch to the gut. Genocide grabbed the hand in his stomach and used it to pull Asmodeus in while sending a punch to the Demon Lord's face, who staggered back before charging to attack again.
After that, Genocide and Asmodeus kept sending and taking punches without slowing down. Their strikes powerful enough to shake the surrounding area. Slowly, however, Genocide kept building up more energy and his body began glowing brighter in red. Soon enough, any punch he sent left a burn mark on Asmodeus' body.
Soon, the Demon Lord was being overwhelmed, and a particularly powerful punch to the head managed to throw him off balance. Joining his hand, Genocide spun to build momentum before striking the demon in the chest and sending him crashing again into the Titan's ribcage.
Raising Crusher, Genocide called for his sword which soon enough flew into his waiting grasp. The Demon Lord recovered and charged at the Sin of Wrath. Genocide grabbed the punch Asmodeus attempted to send with his left hand while raising Rampage in his right one. The blade of Wrath swung down and the Demon Lord roared in pain as it cut into his arm by the elbow.
Rampage did not cut completely through the arm and only managed to make it halfway through. Tightly holding the handle, Genocide pulled and the saw-edge of Rampage cleaved through the rest of the limb, cutting it off completely. Despite one of his arms falling to the ground, the Demon Lord still charged forward and used the other one to swat Genocide away.
Genocide managed stand straight and stop himself from being knocked on his back. Looking at the Demon Lord, he saw as Asmodeus raised his hand before Armaggedon came in flying into its owner's remaining arm. As soon as it did, bright orange energy began coming off the axe's edge and the the eyes of the dragon skull that makes up the hammer side.
Asmodeus' good eye began emitting flames of same orange color. The arena King charged forward with his weapon raised high. Genocide raised Rampage and the two weapons clashed, black and red sword meeting the silver and orange axe, creating a shock-wave of red and orange energy that knocked away all the bones around.
Asmodeus raised his foot and attempted to kick Genocide, only for him to grab the strike with his hand while holding Rampage with the other. Reeling his head back, the Demon Lord sent a headbutt that managed to break the demon slayer's posture and for Armaggedon to break through his defence and cut him in the shoulder, nearly taking off his arm.
Genocide took a few steps back but Asmodeus didn't stop his attack. He swung the other side of Armaggedon, and attempting to knock away the Sin of Wrath with the hammer. Unlike before when this worked, Genocide stored Rampage into the core of his armor and stopped the hammer with Crusher. Quickly summoning Rampage again in the other hand despite the pain, Genocide cut into the remaining Demon Lord's arm, not unlike the other before pulling and cleaving it off.
Twisting the sword of into a reverse grip, Genocide stabbed it into Asmodeus' knee before grabbing the demon Lord by the shoulder with his right hand and then beginning to punch him with his left. After several punching that made the Demon Lord bleed from the mouth, Genocide gave one last powerful punch that sent the Arena King to his back.
Walking towards the fallen Demon Lord, Genocide grabbed the handle of Rampage and violently tore it off Asmodeus knee. All the Demon Lord responded with was a light groan even as Genocide stepped on his chest.
"It seems... You may stand a chance after all," Asmodeus groaned while spitting away blood. "You may defeat Satan... or you may die and unleash a force that will destroy this realm," he looked at Genocide right in the eyes and smiled. "Either way... I suppose you win in some form. I certainly did. Dying at the hands of a great warrior is better than living in boredom."
Genocide said nothing as he raised Rampage before swinging it down with all the strength he had, completely taking Asmodeus' head off his shoulders. Stepping off the Demon Lord's chest, the Sin of Wrath groaned from the damage he sustained before he started walking away from the now headless arena King.
"Three down... Just one to go," Genocide growled.
