65 Amrita's Arrival
Part 65 Amrita's Arrival
Arnav was just happy. He felt an immense sense of joy as a result of being with Khushi. She was enough to bring a lot of happiness to his life. Khushi found him looking at her all that time, no matter where they were. That tickled her sense. She was in a new phase of life, that she never thought to happen soon in her life. Utter changes in Arnav's character and behavior made her feel special. She was cuddling Arnav who was sleeping, snuggling into her chest. She kissed his hair lovingly. How he changed her life overnight...!
Whatever she thought would not happen in her life. Her assumptions always went wrong. She thought Shyam was a gentleman. She thought he would be the supporter of her life. She thought she and her husband would be happy with his company. But he demolished her every expectation and set fire to not only her life but also her sister's life. How painful it would have been for Anjali...! It was hell to live with the memories of someone who was once everything to us.
On the other side, Arnav turned the opposite of what he showed off... Maybe, only to her. That was truly amazing. She kissed him again. She won't get tired of admiring him no matter how many times she kissed him, how many times she made love of him. He would always be fresh in her eyes. Her heart would keep on adoring him. She smiled.
In all this, she didn't forget what she was supposed to do. When she came out of the room, she saw Rani going to the terrace to make the chilly dry. Khushi's mind worked fast. She rushed to the store room where Rani was presently staying. Her bag was lying in the corner of the room. Khushi went to the bag and checked it without messing it. What she found in her bag made her perplexed. She saw an iPhone in her bag. Khushi was shocked to the core. IPhone was not a simple thing anyone could buy just like that. It was a dream for many middle-class people who were earning good pay. If it was so, how it was possible for Rani who belonged to an orphanage? Who was Rani in real? Why did she work as a servant if she could afford iPhone? Why was she in RM? Could she have the motive to come to RM?
Khushi kept the iPhone back in her bag as there was no use in turning it on because she would have locked it with a password. Khushi silently came out of the room and walked off. She came to the kitchen. Rani was storing provisions in the bottles.
"Rani, prepare tea for Naniji and Di" Khushi ordered.
Rani got stuck.
"Whaaat? Do you know to prepare tea or not?"
"Didi... I'm not used to preparing coffee at our orphanage..."
"Oh... don't you even know to prepare tea?"
"No, Didi"
"That's ok"
Rani sighed in relief. Khushi noticed it. Khushi prepared tea for Nani, Anjali, and also for herself. She brought it to Nani's room. Nani was chitchatting with Anjali. It was clear that both of them didn't sleep. She extended the tea tray to them.
"Thanks, Khushi," Anjali said.
"That's ok Di"
"Khushi also sat with them taking her cup"
"Didn't you give tea to Chotte?" Nani asked.
Khushi voluntarily blushed.
"Oh... He is sleeping, Naniji..."
"Don't you wake him up?"
"Let him sleep, Naniji. He would be tired" she said maintaining the blush.
Nani and Anjali spared a delightful glance. Finishing the tea, Khushi came out, taking the empty cups. Nani and Anjali showed thumbs up.
Khushi stopped, seeing someone entering RM. Khushi clutched the tray tight. It was her mother-in-law... Amrita.
Keeping the tray on the side,
"Namaste... Please come..." Khushi greeted her.
"You know what I don't want anyone's greeting to come to my son's home" she smirked.
"But, greeting anyone is my duty..."
"Who taught you the duty?"
"No one has to teach me. I was raised with culture"
"Culture... I don't want to talk about it. Not that I don't have... I'm not interested in something useless"
Khushi kept silent.
"By the way where is my son?"
"He is sleeping"
"Sleeping? At this time...?" She looked at her wristwatch.
"He is tired..."
"The much I know, he is not used to doing something that makes him tired"
"That shows how much you know your son" a sarcastic voice Arnav interrupted her.
Amrita turned behind only to find her son standing at the stairs.
"Didn't I say? See, he is not sleeping." Amrita said to Khushi.
"I was sleeping when she left the room," Arnav said.
"She said you are tired. What did you do that made you tired?" She asked glancing at Khushi.
"Why are you here?" Arnav questioned not minding answering her.
"I came to see my son who is ENJOYING HIS LIFE with his wife"
Khushi jerked at her utterance. Even though it sounded mockery how did she know he was ENJOYING? Why did she stress the word particularly?
She saw Rani's clothes behind a wall in the corridor. She was hiding there. Something sparkled in her mind. Was Rani spying for Amrita? Or, for someone?
"Well... You see I'm enjoying my life. You can go now" Arnav said plainly.
"You can't send me off so easily, Chotte... I'm here to talk to my bahu"
"I have seen you talking to her. It's enough..."
"I'm not going to swallow your wife, Chotte"
"I won't trust anyone when it comes to my wife's safety"
"Won't you trust me too?"
"Especially you..."
"This is too much"
"Be it... Just leave"
"How will she respect me if you talk to me like this?"
"Respect doesn't come from the way I talk to you. It comes from the way of your behavior"
"Ok leave it. You won't change your mind. I would like to throw a reception party for your unannounced wedding..."
Cutting her,
"No need. We have already planned it. We will take care of it"
"I have no problem in doing that merging"
"But, I do... I don't want anyone's interference in my life. It will be like how it had been"
"Why are you so adamant Chotte?"
"This is I'm "
"Khushi..."
"Haan...?" Khushi looked at her.
"I want you to make your husband understand. Tell him. Make him understand. Don't you want a mother-in-law?"
"She doesn't need..." Arnav was losing his patience.
"Chotte..."
"Enough..." He shouted.
Amrita was taken aback.
"I said I don't want your relationship. Don't think you can manipulate my wife."
Amrita looked at Khushi smirking.
"Won't you do a simple thing for your mother-in-law?"
Arnav looked at Khushi tightening his jaws.
"I will do anything only if Arnavji is fine with it," Khushi said making Amrita disappointed.
"I thought at least my daughter-in-law would respect me..."
Cutting her,
"I do... But, I can't disappoint Arnavji for anyone and anything" Khushi said, making Arnav's face light.
Amrita left the place without even meeting her mother.
Khushi sighed.
"Khushi, come to our room" Arnav headed to their room not waiting there.
Khushi became panicked. She could not go to her room now. She walked to the kitchen. Rani hurried her steps to the kitchen before Khushi reached.
"Rani..." Khushi called.
"Jee Didi..."
"Come with me"
Khushi walked. Rani followed her without any clue. Khushi brought her to Nani's room.
"Naniji, Rani knows nothing. I want to know whether she knows to fold up clothes. If she doesn't do it properly, we should reconsider her job at RM, Naniji"
Rani gulped down hard whereas Nani looked at Khushi contently. Khushi lifted her brows and went to the cupboard. She pulled all the clothes down from the cupboard.
"Come on, do it," Khushi said.
"Naniji, until she folds up all the clothes, she should not leave the room" Khushi walked out.
Nani looked at Rani who was standing sadly.
"Come on, do it," Nani said.
Rani went to the cupboard and started folding up the clothes. Thank God, Khushi didn't assign a tough task to her. She had folded her clothes sometimes.
.......
Khushi came to their room. Arnav was waiting for her pacing in his room. the time, she entered, Arnav pulled her for a hug. Before Arnav said anything,
"Do you think I would support your mother over you?"
Arnav hugged her tighter. Khushi also tightened the hug.
"This is why you called me?" she asked.
"Mmm"
"Shall I go now?"
Breaking the hug,
"Why?"
"I have important work"
"What's that?"
"I will tell you later"
"Any problem?"
"Mmm... maybe"
Arnav frowned.
"After dinner, I will tell you"
Arnav nodded ok. Khushi came to Nani's room again. She saw Rani folding up the clothes. As Nani had only sarees, she didn't find difficulties in folding them up.
"Naniji, a few minutes ago, my mother-in-law came to RM," Khushi said observing Rani whose hand stopped for a while.
"When, Khushi bitiya?"
"When I went with the empty cups"
"Why didn't you call me?"
"I didn't get a chance, Naniji"
"Did she say anything like always?"
"She wants to throw a reception party for our wedding"
"is it?"
"Yes but Arnavji finished the issue"
"Oh... did Chotte see her?"
"Mmm"
"Then no problem" Nani sighed in relief.
They chitchatted random things but Khushi was keeping her eye on Rani. Rani was folding up the clothes until HP called them for dinner.
"Hari Prakashji, call Arnavji"
"Jee" HP left.
"Let's go Naniji"
"Rani, have you finished?"
"This is the last one"
"Let's go"
All of them came to the dining. After finishing it, Arnav went to the room without disturbing Khushi. Khushi made sure, Rani was eating. She silently slipped away from the dining and came to the store room. She sat behind an old sofa hiding.
After a while, Rani came to the store room. As expected, she removed her mobile from the bag and switched it on. She dialed someone and said,
"NIKITA hear"
