Avni was so excited because Neil told her that he'll accompany her to the lantern festival. She was getting ready happily. Sunheri was cleaning the mess she created for choosing a dress.

"My lady looks so pretty " she told while Avni smiled widely.

"I am kinda nervous as well.." Avni told taking a deep breath.

"It's my first time going out with Neil alone..." She turned to look at Sunheri and she could able to see how excited she is.

"It's our first date !" She told her grining.

"Don't people usually kiss on their date " avni asked excited while Sunheri widened her eyes.

Soon Avni came out and saw Neil waiting for her. She joined him while he looked at her. He could see her worn minimal makeup and smiled.

"Lady Avni dressed up for you.." DD whispered on his ears while he looked at him.

"Let's go ?" He asked while she nodded.

"Master Neil...Be Careful!" DD told him while he rolled his eyes.

"Don't miss me okay ?" He told him while Avni laughed and Neil ignored him and they left.

Avni was walking looking at the ground. Neil was walking silently.

"Thank you for coming with me .." she told him to break the silence.

"It's okay!. Anyways I was free today .." he told while she nodded smiling.

They reached the place while Avni was waiting for Neil who went to buy the lantern away from the crowd. Neil looked at the other side to check on Avni.

Soon he came back and they were walking through the crowd. Neil could see her being uncomfortable walking among the crowd. Few people dashed Avni while walking.

"You okay ?" He asked her while she looked at him and nodded.

Neil then hold her and took her away from the crowd. Avni looked at his hand and then him whose back was facing her and smiled. He took her somewhere else.

"This is also part of River Nyx ...If you want, we can do that here...or we can wait till it gets less crowded and go back there to the main area.." he told her

" Let's do it here only..." She told him while he nodded.

He took the lantern and try to lighten it up but Avni stopped him.

"You have to write a wish before you lighten it up " she told him

"Ohh is it ?" He asked with confusion.

"But I don't believe..." Before he could say she spoke.

"I know you don't believe in these kind of things ...but if we are doing it why don't we do it properly?" She asked him smiling and gave the market to him.

Neil was thinking a lot and wrote down his wish.

"I wish I get my superpowers back " Avni read his thing and she looked at him.

"I know, it won't get true ...but still my greediness.." he chuckled and scratched his hair.

Neil's gaze then moved to her lantern but couldn't able to read it as she wrote it very small.

"You didn't tell me..we could write it small.." he asked her while she laughed.

They both released the lantern into the beautiful night sky. Avni smiled widely seeing those lights all around the sky. Her eyes grimmed in shine looking at the sky while Neil looked at her and admired her.

She closed her eyes and clasped her hands together, wishing again.

"As I have written, I wish he could get his superpowers back .." she thought and took a breath. Neil was just staring at her.

They sat near the river. Avni was looking at Neil who was playing with the rock.

"You shouldn't have married me..." he told her making her smile fade away.

"I can't protect you anyway !" He added still playing with the rock.

"You did that day...You remember?" She spoke making him look at her. She referred to the day where the fall on the ground when the young boys used their power on their direction.

"And you need not to protect anyone ..." She added further.

"Being there for eachother is more than enough... Don't you think ?" She asked him and they shared an eyelock.

Neil felt teary and he looked away while Avni looked at him. She hold his hand and slowly caressed his hand.

"It's Okay Neil...I'll be there for you... " She told him which made him look at her again.

"Even though you have superpowers or not, I'll be here with you..." She told him

She was telling those words he wished he could hear from someone. Especially his father who neglected him when he lost his powers.

He really thought he have no one in his world. He had to create his home where he couldn't find any warmth. That shell he created was so cold to the point he got immune to it. Now the warmth he is getting from Avni, feel weird that he feels he'll be broken if he let her closer.

They were looking at each other while suddenly it started drizzling. Neil hold Avni's hand and they started running and they stood under a shelter. Avni stepped back a little and about to fall while he hold her by her waist while she kept her hand near his heart. They just looked at each other.

The water dripping on Avni's face, her eyes, her glosspu lip that she was biting in fear, her earing, her rising breath, everything felt so mesmerizing at that moment for Neil. He made her stand carefully and cleared his throat.

Neil looked away and was shocked to see things that is happening. Avni saw his change of expression and followed his gaze and she was utterly shocked seeing the things.
