"Mate." he growled. My heart started beating erratically as my mind started processing the words that came out of his beautiful, peach lips. Artemis was yipping while my mouth slightly parted as I stared at him. His eyes stared at me as he studied my face. Thunder rumbled in the background, but it seemed as if it wasn't there. It felt like we were the only ones here and the world around us froze or didn't even exist.

My wolf was telling me to run up to him and allow him to wrap me into a gigantic hug and give me kisses, but my human side was wanting me to keep my distances. He didn't look inviting. His face was emotionless and like I said before, his aura screamed danger. Power and authority radiated from him like he was an alpha or some other high ranking. And I new one thing for sure....

He trespassed onto our territory. And he didn't even seem to care.

I brushed the wet strands of hair that fell in my face and pulled the hood over my head a bit to cover more of my head. The wind was getting stronger as the storm grew worse.

I shoved my hands into the front pockets of my soaked hoodie. The sound of the rain and the rumbles of thunder in the background was all that you could here. My fingers clenched into fists. Disbelief flashed through is eyes again, as if he can't believe that I'm standing in front of him. His soulmate. His other half. I stood there, not moving a muscle.

I mean, what do you expect? Some stranger, who happens to be my mate, shows up in my backyard. Like how does he even know where I live?

'Attention everyone, get to the closest building now!' Alpha Tristan's voice boomed in the back of my head. My eyes widened as he continued, 'Someone has crossed our borders and is trespassing into our territory. So seek shelter immediately, for what I've heard from the patrols, he is an alpha. But they couldn't give me any details because they got attacked.'

Right when Alpha finished, the backdoor of the house flew open, revealing an extremely worried Jordyn. When he saw me, relief flashed across his face until his eyes wandered over to the person standing in front of me.

'Trinity! Get back now!' Jordyn ordered through mind-link.

I glanced at the guy as his eyes landed on Jordyn. He released a growl as Jordyn took a step towards me. I was going to tell him that Jordan was my brother, thinking that he was assuming that we weren't related at all, but Jordyn's fearful voice made me stop.

'What are you doing?! That's the alpha of the-'

Before he could finish, strong arms wrapped around my waist. I let out a surprise screech as a bolt of electricity surged through my body. My body was slung over a shoulder and I squeezed my eyes shut as my face bumped into something rock hard. When I opened my eyes again, I was facing the ground and I was in the air.

I shivered as I felt a hand placed on my butt. I attempted to look up and saw my brother standing in front of me. His face held mixed emotions; worry, anger, and bewilderment.

I turned my head so that I could see who slung me over their shoulder like a rag doll. I already had a feeling who it was, but I just wanted my assumptions to be wrong. Right when I caught a glimpse of those emerald eyes, he broke into a run.

With me over his shoulder.....

I released a scream when I realized that he was kidnapping me, taking me against my will. I know he's my mate and all, but he could've at least asked me to come with him like every other werewolf on this planet.

Jordyn yelled out my name as he ran after us. Jordyn, in mid-air, shifted and landed on the ground in his wolf form. His cream wolf trailed behind us. Both Jaylon and Kiera came running out of the house at the sound of Jordyn and my yelling.

They both gasped in horror when they saw me being cared by this man. They immediately shifted into their wolves and ran side by side next to Jordyn.

I pounded on the back in front of my face, hoping that that would slow him down the slightest bit. Because damn, this guy is hella fast.

He growled at me to stop, but I didn't listen. I continued to pound on his chest. I even tried scratching him and pinching his butt with my fingernails. Everything passed like a blur and I was becoming slightly dizzy as all of the blood was rushing to my head.

My body bounced when he dodged trees and jumped over tree routes. I was slightly impressed that he could run so quickly while carrying my extra weight.

Jordyn was still behind us, but he was getting slower and slower. Other pack members were running too, including Alpha Tristan and my mom and dad, but they couldn't keep up with my mate.

'Dad' I cried through the mind-link.

'Baby!' my dad cried, 'We're going to get you! Hang in there.'

When we got to the border, I gasped when I saw the patroller's dead bodies laying on the ground. Scratches and cuts covered there bodies, some of the body parts were ripped apart and scattered everywhere. It was like some monster came through and brutally killed these men. And that monster is my so-called mate.

I felt bile rise up my throat but I forced it back down with a large swallow of air. A headache began to grow in my head as I became dizzy due to all of the blood rushing to my head.

"Put me down!" I cried. Tears rolled down my cheeks and dripped to the ground. The guy's grip on me tightened as his whole body tensed at the sound of my quiet sobs. He shook it away and continued sprinting through the forest.

All of my pack members weren't in sight anymore nor could I hear the pounding of their paws on the ground.

We were far away from the border now, no longer in the Moonwater territory.

A sickly feeling filled me as I realized that this was Fated Night territory. We were trespassing, and all I know is that they will kill us instantly when they see us here.

The guy finally slowed to a stop. His hand left my butt as he gently placed me back onto my two feet. I swayed a little before composing myself.

I quickly attempted to run from him, but he gripped my elbow. Before I could contain myself, I opened my mouth and suppressed a loud scream. His hand flew up to my mouth, causing my scream to be a strangled muffled noise. He roughly shoved me against a random tree and grasped my wrists into a tight hold and pinned them above my head.

He lowered his face so that his eyes were leveled with mine. His green eyes darkened and black swirled in them. My breath got caught in my throat due to our proximity. "Shut up." He growled.

A scowl formed on my face and I attempted to shove him away from me, but he didn't budge.

His grip tightened, starting to cut off the circulation in my wrists. "Why are you doing this?" I tried to make my voice not show any signs weakness. "This isn't how it's suppose to work. Mates don't just kidnap each other."

He didn't reply. He just stared at me before releasing a sigh. He ran his strong hand through his wet, tousled hair. The rain was slower now, but the Lightning still lit up the sky and the thunder was still rumbling off in the distance.

"We're walking from here. Either you walk next to me and don't try to pull anything, or I'll carry you again. Your choice." He spoke in a gruff voice because he stepped back.

A cold gust of wind slapped it self against my body because of the lack of his presence. He began walking ahead of me while I slowly trailed behind him. He didn't seem to like this because he snapped his fingers and motioned me to hurry up. I rolled my eyes and started walking beside him.

"Why did you take me?" I asked him as the sound of our feet against the wet ground echoed. The only light we had to see was the light from the Lightning.

He didn't say anything, just a grunt as his response. That made me a little annoyed. First he kidnaps me, and now he won't even give me a good damn reason why.

"Can you at least tell me your name?"

He continued to stare ahead of him with an emotionless face. His fists were clenched like he wanted to punch something. Probably me....

'Don't say that. He won't hurt his mate.' Artemis scolded me. Why the hell is she on his side? He's the one who took me from my family. My pack.

'Yet he took us from our home. That's technically hurting us emotionally.' I shot back. She became silent after. She knew I was right.

I stopped in my tracts and grabbed his wrist. I ignored the tingles that shot through my arm when I touched him and flashed him an angry look. I crossed my arms over my chest.

"I'm not going anywhere until you tell me why you took me from my home." I said stubbornly.

I heard him mutter something along the lines of 'naive' before he stepped towards me, his tall figure towering over me. I wanted to step back cowardly, but I kept my ground and tilted my head back to look up at him.

"Don't you ever shut up?" He told me before grabbing me by the waist and throwing me over his shoulder again. I let out a strangled yelp as my face came in contact with his muscular back. I cupped my sore nose and cursed out a few profanities.

"What the hell?" I punched his back with my fist as I squirmed around in his hold.

He swatted at my butt before he started walking. I felt very uncomfortable in this position meanwhile Artemis is purring in the back of my head, putting naughty thoughts in my head.

Are everybody's wolves perverted?

My mate walked for about 10 more minutes until we reached a village. I automatically knew that this was the Fated Night Pack. Shit. Is he from this pack?

The houses were made just like our's. The houses were scattered around with cobblestone paths leading up to their front doors. In the center of the village was an enormous rock, I'm guessing for when they have meetings, and little shops and cafes lined the cobblestone paths.

It looked like a normal village instead of a gross, horrid, rotting one that everyone in my pack assumed it was. Even though it was dark and stormy, there were pack members outside socializing and doing their own thing.

That is until they spotted us. Their eyes widened in shock while some stared at me in disgust and....un-approval? Why are they just staring at me and not at the guy carrying me.

There was this one lady who looked to be about 60. Her hair was the color of snow and it was tied up into a bun with hairpins sticking out of it. She wore a white sweater with a pair of tan capris. An apron was tied around her waist as she stood in front of a door to what looked like a little bakery. Round tables with a couple chairs per table lined up in front of the long, rectangular window on the building.

Round glasses sat on her nose. Her eyes were fixed on me and she was giving a look of sympathy. She seemed more inviting and friendly compared to everyone else in this damn village that I decided to call out to her for help.

"Excuse me ma'am, can you help me? This man kidnapped me!" I exclaimed with fear.

The old woman rose her eyebrow and a small weak smile graced her lips. She chuckled and shook her head slightly as she pivoted on her foot and entered the little bakery.

My mate turned his head to the side and sent me a warning look. "Don't look or talk to anyone." He growled at me. My eyes widened when I realized that he was ordering me in a very authoritative voice like he over ranked me and had actual power to control me.

"Don't tell me what to do." I snapped. "You're not my alpha, beta, or my dad. So therefore, I don't need to listen to you."

He clenched his jaw angrily before looking away. He allowed me to slip off his shoulder and I landed on my butt. I winced when I felt the rocks underneath me but I looked up and scowled at the man. He grabbed my wrist and yanked me up, dragging me down the path.

More and more pack members came out of their homes and the other buildings to see what the whispering was about. What surprised me the most was that no one was attacking us. I mean, we were trespassing into their territory.

A tall man who looked about 20 years old walked up to us. His hair was the same color as mine, just a tad darker. It was short and pushed to the front, flipping up as well. His stance was tall, not as tall as the cold-hearted asshole next to me, and his body was well-built. His brown eyes swirled with specs of hazel. His jawline was pretty defined too. I would be lying if I said that he wasn't hot, because damn, he's super hot.

It's kind of sad because not many people back at my pack were this hot.

The man, along with everyone else who are standing around, bowed their heads. "Alpha." They all muttered respectfully.

Alpha?

My head shot towards my mate as I gasped. I yanked my hand out of his grasp and stared at him in shock and fear. My throat became dry as nausea consumed me. He's Alpha Nixon? I stumbled back and almost tripped but thankfully I caught myself.

"Alpha?" My voice cracked as I couldn't find my voice.

Nixon sent me a hard look, giving off no emotion whatsoever, like he didn't even care and that it was my own loss. Which it kind of was, but still. He took a step towards me but I coward away.

A growl erupted from his chest because I was keeping my distance from him. In a flash he had my wrist in a tight grip as he started tugging me in a random direction.

"I'll be at the meeting in a few minutes." He told the man, whom I assumed was the beta.

I tried to get out of this monster's death grip, but it only tightened. My eyes started watering up and a huge lump in my throat began to form. I wanted to cry, but I held it in as I bit my lip so that I wouldn't release a sob.

My mate is the alpha of the Fated Night Pack. The ruthless man who attacked my pack along with hundreds of others and killed thousands of creatures, both human and supernatural. My mate was the one who was known to be the most powerful and feared man on the planet.

And I don't know what I did to cause the moon goddess to despise me so much, but fate did its part by pairing me with such a cruel man.
